Want to start a Cathe workout

Reading a lot of positive feedbacks from this forum and the video fitness forum, kindly suggest good total body video to start with? I am an intermediate to advanced exerciser. Thanks.

Hi Npuzon and welcome,

Silly question do you want that with or without weights? I started with CTX so I will always recommend it.

Another good singular total body workout of Cathe's is Body Max, which includes step, step-leg-circuit (with dumbbells and barbell), upper body resistance training and abdominals. You can do the whole taco in one long session, or break it up and do certain parts each day.

Circuit Max is also another one to consider, incorporating resistance circuits for most of the cardio routine and then some isolated resistance work for pecs, back and plank abdominals.

I believe (although I've never owned it) that one of Cathe's earliest productions, "Get In Shape For Your Wedding" is also a total-body workout.

Must agree, however, with the Cross-Train-Express (CTX) 6-video series - really an awesome value!

You'll find, Npuzon, that Cathe has too many great products to limit yourself to just one - and the price breaks on volume purchases (not just per-workout but shipping as well) make that totally justifiable money-wise.

Hi Npuzon!
Welcome to the Forum - I am positive you will get lots of suggestions on how to spend your money on Cathe videos and DVD's!!
Most people tend to recommend Cathe's Wedding Video as a good starter, as it contains approx 1 hour of intermediate/advanced step and 1 hour of body conditioning with light(er) weights. It's one of Cathe's older videos, but is a good introduction to her style, plus you get 2 workouts for your money!
A more current video recommendation would be Power Hour. This is a tough complete body workout using weights/barbell (I don't own a barbell so just use weights). The good thing about this workout is that you could modify it if necessary, by using lighter/no weights and still get a really good workout.
Whatever you decide on, you cannnot go wrong with Cathe (although I am biased, of course!!)

Hi Npuzon,
I second the Wedding Tape. While all the other workouts are excellent too, there is an intimidation factor to get over with Cathe workouts if you are at all intermediate and you've never done a Cathe workout before. The Wedding tape is very fun, and it also helps you to get to know Cathe's stepping style a bit. Of course, if you are just a 'dive right in, blindfolded' type of person, then I might go for something else, like Power Hour. It is a muscular endurance workout that is CHALLENGING and FUN. It actually gets MORE fun the more you do it (to me anyway).
Anything you pick is not a waste though. It is just a matter of working up to doing the whole thing, or doing it all without modifications.
:)Have fun
Kathy

My vote is for Maximum Intensity Strength or Power Hour. Dont forget that you can view clips of Cathe's video on her home page.

I also recommend Maximum Intensity Strength as a great total body strength/endurance workout. This was my first Cathe video, and it got me completely hooked!
