Wall Sit Challenge

Here is an exercise I did when running track. It is a neat exercise for endurance.
Did anyone ever try wall sits? They are tough }(
Basically you slide down a wall into a squat position (as if sitting in a chair, make sure that knees dont come over toes).
Hold for a 1 minute (time yourself, a stop watch works great). Do 3 sets (with rests in between) using different variations (example: toes pointing out will work inner thighs more).
You may want to start out holding for less than a minute, but set a definite time before you get into postion.. it will help motivate you
As you make progress you can add light weights and even try one legged squats (a burner for the quads).
When you feel up to it and ready for the ultimate challenge, try to hold the squat position through the duration of a song (only coming up briefly when necessary)..this will lead to shaky legs!
As with all exercise, be sure to listen to your body. If you cant make it through take a break and rest.
There is always next time and something to work toward.
Wall Sits are a neat / fun finisher for the legs. Just dont try them listening to 'Stairway to Heaven'...way too long lol.
These static holds focus on endurance (they really get deep into the muscle)and are a different way to mix up your leg work.
If anyone wants to try this, we can post our efforts and progress here. Best of Luck! :)
