WAHOO - WE WON!!!

Just gotta brag a bit. I am the legal advisor for the mock trial team at my high school alma mater. Today was the tornament and my kids WON!!! They're going to the state finals. But I brag to raise a point. For all of the bad raps so many teenagers get and so much media coverage that spells the doom and gloom of our future - these kids are awesome. They worked their tails off and it was such a pleasure for me to watch their thought process and team preparation in motion. This is the 3rd year I've coached and it was a thrill for me to be associated with them. Yippee. (Ok - brag's over. Thanks!)

Congratulations! Sounds like you have some really talented kids there. I agree with you that kids tend to get a bum rap a lot. I look around my small town and see a lot of teens doing a lot of good... Susan Beat of luck at state!

The kids that you mentor will not be part of the gloom and doom forecast. You should be very proud of them. Maybe they'll find the solutions to keep a sunny forecast. Thank you for being a good mentor.

The gloom and doom come from those kids that are adrift.

Lorrie!!!! OMG I didn't know you coached a Mock Trial team!!!!! I did Mock Trial in HS!!!!!!!!!!! It was the funnest part of HS for me!!!!! We went to state, too!!!!!! WAHOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

The work ain't over yet... so keep going, and enjoy it!!!! And congratulate that team!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Amy - and I will congratulate the team - they decided to go with a 4-person team instead of an 8-person team - so they went both prosecution and defense. Everyone got to be an atty and a witness, which I think really allowed them to know the problem much better. Insane as we are, my DH coaches law school mock trial and his tourney is also this weekend. Our 3 kids have been seeing our notes from the rounds and asking why there are pi's and triangle all over them! LOL. Thanks!
