Ive been meaning to post this for a couple of weeks now. Does anyone have a recipe for healthy waffles? I just bought a waffle maker and don't want to make waffles with white flour and oilx( There o.k for the rest of the fam...but not for me! hehe:)
Thanks!

Here's a good waffle recipe.

Whole Wheat Waffles

Dry ingredients:
3 c. whole wheat flour (or whole wheat pastry flour)
2 T. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1/4 c. ground flax seed
2 scoops whey protein powder (vanilla flavored, or I use the BSN Lean dessert cinnamon roll flavor)

Wet ingredients:
4 egg whites
3 c. skim milk (or soymilk)
1 c. unsweetened applesauce

Add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix together. Cook on a hot waffle iron. This recipe makes a large amount of waffles. Store in zip-lock baggie in the freezer for use through out the week. Pop frozen waffles in the toaster and toast on high.

20 servings ~ 100 cals/ 16g carb/ 3g fiber/ 1g fat/ 7g protein

(I also made these w/ 2 c. of WW flour & 1 c. oatmeal because I ran out of flour & they were good too!)

Enjoy!

Lori-here's a recipe that I've been playing with! I got it from one of the gals on my BFL check in.

Protein Waffles
½ cup oats
4 egg whites
1 scoop protein powder
¼ tsp vanilla
¼ tsp cinnamon

Process in the blender or food processor and bake in a griddle.

Now....I've made this recipe twice, and both times I used the whole batter in the waffle iron (used 2 different waffle irons, too). Both times, as the waffles baked, they ROSE AND ROSE AND ROSE! lol They do get pretty big, so my waffles came out lopsided....thick and tall in the back, where the griddle stayed in contact with the batter the whole time, and lower and softer (but still cooked) in the front, where the front of the waffler rose higher than the batter (does that make sense? LOL). SO..........NEXT time I make these, I'm going to put in LESS batter and make 2 different batches. HA! Try it out. They're pretty tasty, too, and I eat them just plain...nothing added.

Thanks for the recipes. I tried recipe #1 yesterday. I went to the store to get ground flax seed and picked up some 7 grain flour instead of ww. I have ww here but its been here for a while. I also added in one banana and 2 packs of Splenda. They are really ymmuy BUT stuck to the griddle. I tried everything but it could be just my cheap griddle? Anyway, I have a nice pile of pancakes in the freezer!:) Im going to try Gayles recipe shorlty and see what happens there!

Teddygirl, thanks so much! Your to sweet! My pics were tak'in early in the morning so im not overly beautiful there! hehe I did workout alot this past yr and thanks to you guys on the ww's forum last yr this time I ditched all those baby lbs and more besides. It is amazing how we can change our bodies in a yr. And if I did nothing I would still look the same as I did last yr...blah...not to cute! hehe I didn't expect you to remember his name, but its Rylan. Prehaps you got it mixed up with DD's name which is Jayna.

Thanks again ladies!
