How does one know if they are getting the best quality in there vitamins. I usually order from Purtian Pride vitamins because they seems to be cheaper then purchasing them at GNC. I do my reseach to make sure I am getting the amount that I need per vitamin I take, but how do I know if I'm getting quality. I went to consumer labs to compare reports of the differnt vitamins out there and purtian pride got a good approval rating. With it being so cheap I don't know if I am getting good quality. Mostly what I'm asking is do any of you have a good vitamin that won't break the bank? Or is the one I'm taking an effective vitamin. What about Walmart or Target? They all carry vitamins that are relativly low in cost but are they quality? Thanks Karen

There was a thread here not too long ago to test your vit. saying to put the vit. in some vinegar. I will see if I can find it.

"I know we have talked about the vinegar test a few times on this board, but I would really encourage you to take some vinegar and put your vitamin in it. It should dissolve in 20 minutes (this is as long as it is in your stomach, then it passes into your intestines, which is basic acidity). When I did this test on my Pre-natal vitamin a few months ago (I was still on it because I was still nursing my daughter) it only dissolved 50%! No wonder I felt so crappy! Anyway, I encourage you to take your vitamin and see how much of it is dissolving. I also did this test on my One Source vitamin that I had and it had not even started to dissolve in 20 minutes!"
