Hi Everyone,

I would like to know what is the difference between working out using a VHS tape and a DVD.

I dont yet own a DVD player, and really haven't understood what all the fuss is about! Can someone please enlighten me????

Thanks!!

Hi! The 1st big difference is in the picture and sound quality. Some people don't see much difference, but to others ( like me ) it's a whole new plane when watching DVDs! :) The other big difference is the ability to mix and match sections of various workouts to get just what you want that day. For example: I just finished doing an upper body split workout using the weight sections from the CTX series. Then I popped over to the CTX kickboxing workout for some planks, abs, and a stretch. It was simple and convenient with no fast forwarding or rewinding. Other times I may combine a warm up from one video, use sections from 2 or 3 other workouts for the cardio portion, and then whatever cooldown and stretch I may choose. Again, you don't have to do any fast forwarding or rewinding.

You get spoiled very quickly once you venture into the world of DVD!

Have you ever seen a DVD movie? If you have you know the first screen is like a table of contents with sections, chapters, etc. For instance, on the Slow and Heavy DVD the first screen lists the three workouts and each workout has the following options: Play Program, Chapters, and Mix and Match. Believe me, it's so much better than having to rewind or fast forward to the sections you want to do because it's all laid out for you on the tv screen. I love using DVDs for workouts :)!

Take care,

One more thing -- you don't have the problem of the VCR eating your tape. The DVD is lasts virtually forever... I found that it is really great for Cathe's tapes since her tapes are priceless.
