VHS quality question

Hi - I'm still using my VHS of Imax 2. Lately it's started changing colors on me. It'll be fine for a bit, but then the picture will turn banded, and the colors will be kind of a blue-green. It was worse last night, than when I used it the last time. The audio is fine.

I recently got a new DVD/VHS combo player. What I'm wondering is if this could be a problem with my player, or if it's just because I've used Imax 2 so much that I'm wearing it out?

Have you tried adjusting the tracking? Sometimes that helps.

Don't laugh, but where are your stereo speakers. If they're too close they will cause this type of banding due to the magnets in them. They can also erase the tape.
