veneer question...anyone have them?

I am in the process of getting veneers. I have been prepped and have temporary veneers. Well the things are worthless and frustrating...I broke them twice in the first two days. They gave me an invisalign retainer to keep them in place and when I took it off to brush my teeth, the temporaries were inside it. So since my dentist is 1-1/2 hours away, I have just lived with it for the past almost month. Now I just pulled something up that says if they break to get in immediately to have them re-cemented so that you don't risk having them shift. Do you think that with the invisalign thing that i should be ok? I've been extra careful with brushing and using my hydro-floss...but now I'm scared that I messed this whole process up. Can anyone reassure me? I get my permanent ones one week from Tuesday...think I'll be ok? I will call them when they return to the office on Monday, but I'm having a little panic attack right now. Guess I should have done the reading right after the dumb thing broke.

Sorry to be long winded...

I don't have veneers, but have had a TON of dental work done.. There is a "temp cement" you can get at I THINK any drug store..I know Walmart has it called "temp fill" I'd look into getting that, I lost a crown once, and wasn't able to get into the dentist, that stuff held it on (with a few applications) for about 2 weeks.. I've also used it to replace a lost filling for 2 days until I could get in. I do NOT know how it will work on veneers but it might be worth a shot.

LOL (not at your problem)
I thought you were talking about woodworking until your third sentence!!!!

Puts the post in a whole different perspective.

funny...after I posted this, I wondered if it would be clear... :) Tooth veneers...not cabinetry! ;) Though we do need that in our kitchen...but that's another story, and temps wouldn't be an issue!

I don't think temps would cause a big problem since you got the retainer that should hold the rest in place as long as you wear it constantly. I had to have two teeth moved when I was younger, and as long as there is constant pressure it stays put, but if you take off the pressure, that's when they'll edge back a little.

HTH,
