Valslides?

Has anyone seen these?

Okay, you guys know I've been spending a lot of time over at FigureAthlete.com (when I HAVE time to spend!) and reading a lot of what Chad Waterbury writes, right? Okay, you know how we've all discussed the paper plate/gliding disk thing for the upcoming STS workouts? Well, Chad Waterbury is friends with Valerie Waters, who trains celebrities for movie roles and so forth and he talks a lot about her success (Alwyn Cosgrove is a fan, also) so I went to ValerieWaters.com to find out more about her (I want her entire program) and I learned about Valslides, her invention. They look a bit like the gliding disks we've been talking about but they seem like they'd be easier to use.

A lot of people were lucky enough to find these on clearance at Target last year to use in place of the paper plates. I was bummed that I missed out. It would be nice to hear from people who did get them whether they have had a chance to use them and what they think.

Stacey,

I don't know anything about gliding discs so I have nothing to compare my Valslides to.
I purchased the Valslides(full price) and Red Carpet Ready for $39.95 (before the price increase).

I love my Valslides and plan to use them for STS. I feel they were worth the investment.
I enjoyed RCR. It's a full body circuit style workout that is a great fat burner. I wouldn't pay $77 for the program. I don't think it's worth that amount of money. Red Carpet gives you 4 different circuits to rotate.

You can get a clear idea of what the circuits look like by these 2 circuits she posted on her blog.

I am glad to hear about the Valslides and think I'll be getting those. In the videos they look fun to use. One question: Do you need two sets to do her circuit workouts (one pair for hands, one for feet?)?

I'm glad for your info on RCR. The system sounded great, until I found out it's a downloadable thing...

I was sleeping so well and then boom(!) I am awake...

I have both the Gliding Discs and the Valslides - the Valslides are far superior in my opinion. The Discs worked great at the gym and we have hardwood floors here but those slides are great for both carpet and hardwood. Definitely something you would enjoy!

How do these work on puzzle mats?

I honestly don't know if they would work on puzzle mats. If your mats are anything like mine (rubber and sort of sticky) I don't think they would work. I use mine on smooth carpet. She sells them with covers for hardwood floors. I'm not sure the covers would help them slide on rubber.

I'll have to figure something out cause paper plates don't slide so well on my puzzle mats. Then again, it could just be me

I have puzzle mats but think I'm just going to go buy a large, cheap, low pile roll-up rug for when I use the Valslides. I know... MORE "stuff."

Have you tried the plastic disposable plates, like the Dixie brand that come in the bright colors (I usually see red, blue, and yellow). I wonder if they would slide better.
