Vacation recommendations please

There's just one thing I dread about the idea of a beach vacation: no, not the waxing. The 2-3 weeks BEFORE the waxing when I have to grow out my leg hair so it can be waxed off. BLECH. x( Every time I see a pic of beautiful beach, I think of that. But in the end, it will be worth it.

Michele! I was hoping you would weigh in here. Please give me your opinion on a warm, relaxing getaway place because you and I have identical taste in such things.

You will absolutely LOVE Mohonk! It will be perfect for you and Dr. Michele. ;)

The worst part isn't the actual waxing...it is the second when that the strip is in the hand, ready to be ripped off. That second lasts forever!!!!!! Once it is off, it really isn't that big of a deal, but that dreaded anticipation...BLECH like you said!!

Nancy, Aruba is also great. We went there for our honeymoon 2 years ago and loved it. Although I am sure anywhere in the Caribbean is great this time of year.

Beavs, Where in upstate NY are you?

Hi Nance!

Oh boy, I'm afraid I won't be of much help to you there. Would you believe that I've barely traveled within the continental USA!? I've seen more of Europe than I have of this country, and I've never been to the Caribbean  . Quite honestly, I'm not much for sand and surf, and I'd take a mountain over the ocean any day of the week. Having said that, I once stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Naples, FL and had a WONDERFUL time. I never left the hotel! They wait on you hand and foot, and treat you like a queen! You can sit on the beach and waiters will tend to your every need. I'd definitely go there again. It also helped that DH was there for work and we didn't have to pay for our room or meals. :p

ETA a link to the website. This place is magnificent and they really cater to you. There is truly no need to leave the hotel -- they have everything you could possibly want. So if you want to kick back and relax, this is the perfect place! http://www.ritzcarlton.com/en/Properties/Naples/Default.htm

Nancy-

I have only been to Superclubs resorts so I can't speak for Sandals. But I am lead to believe that Superclubs may have more amenities. The Grand Lido resorts have decent French restaurants and one has a hibachi style restaurant with an additional Sushi bar. We like to take advantage of the spa when we are there. Superclubs includes a manicure and pedicure with your stay. We always take part in that together. DH is so funny getting his pedicure~ his feet are extremely ticklish.

Edit: PS- I took Nina to NYU , Tufts & BC last week. She was really impressed with Tufts and NYU was a close second. YIKES! We drove past BU (I recall you are an alumni) and Northeastern too.
