Update on my Clyde!

Good evening ladies!

Well, the vet finally called us with the results of the biopsy. Please do not even ask me to repeat the name of the disease/condition that Clyde has coz at this point I can't even remember it (LOL) but it is prevalent in young dogs. It is a 4 stage disease/condition which causes lesions on the skin. The first stage appears and goes away on it's own with out medical treatment, the 2nd stage is treatable with a 6-8 week course of steroids whereby the lesions should disappear and the dog should be fine, the 3rd stage-I can't remember what it's about, and the 4th stage is this lesion in it's malignant form...

Thank goodness our Clyde has stage 2-treatable with a course of steriods.:) The lesions should disappear all together with treatment and Cldye should be fine fine fine! The only concern is that they can't gaurantee he won't have a relapse of it-but if treated, it will not progress to stage 4 at all. We are going to pick up his medication this weekend and will take him to be checked out in about 2 weeks to see how he is progressing.

Phew! What a relief! I feel sooo much better now! Thanks to all of you for your kind words of support and for your prayers! You really helped me through this!

I will check back in with you once he sees the vet again in a couple of weeks! Thanks again!

Have a great work out!

~Wendy~

That is splendid news and i am very relieved and happy for you. i experienced several terrifying experiences with one of my babbies(bella) and it was terrible waiting. i'm glad it's over and your news was barable and poitive. Give Clyde a big hug from me and tell him Pj and Bella send two paws up!

Oh Wendy, I'm SO happy for you & your family!! (Not to mention Clyde!) I've been mentioning him in my prayers every day. What a huge relief!

Give him a big hug from me.

Ruth:) :) :) :) :) :)

That's good news! The vet may have told you this already but the steroids will most likely make Clyde VERY thirsty and therefore he'll need to go out often. Our dog had a rash that wouldn't go away so steroids were prescribed and he would go to his water bowl every 30 minutes and drink for minutes at a time - he was also very sleepy but being that Clyde is a puppy that may be good news for you :)

Wendy,

This is good news :D . Keep a close eye on him. I know that I didn't need to tell you that. I'm such a sucker for my pooch. I would have been a wreck.

Take care,
jordan

Oh and since it is Friday night you better be resting.

Wendy...that is so cool....:+ :7 :) I do know first hand how the waiting can be unbearable...I am so happy that good looking dog will be okay!!! Prayers can be answered....:)....Carole

Wendy,

When I saw the subject line with an exclamation at the end, I knew it was good news! Thank goodness! I am so glad Clyde is okay.

So, I'm a little strange and have a very curious mind. If you happen to recall the name of the disease, would you mind posting it? I like to research all sorts of things about animals. Thanks!
