Upcoming w/out Idea...

I would LOVE a non-squat, non-lunge pretty much ALL floor work/stability ball lower body routine or even a compilation of all the floor/barre segments. On it I'd love it if it was paired with short cardio bursts in between segments, either new or also just re-used combo's from other dvds. I'd like one of the premixes to be just the floor work (non cardio) exercises. Then a longer more like 15 minute ab workout without crunches, something more plank and standing abs.

Thanks for your consideration!!

I started Tracy Anderson in January and switched recently to Ballet Beautiful because I wanted to slim down the thighs, hips and butt and I can't believe the results I've gotten so far. HOWEVER, these people are not Cathe and I dearly love my Cathe workouts which I do every other day because the other people don't seem to understand what a real cardio workout is. I would love to see Cathe do something along the lines of more Barre or ballet type workouts for the lower body and core. I know she did the Low Impact Barre workout in that series but it's 74 minutes long with few premix options and I don't have more than 60 minutes to do a workout and usually do around 45 minutes. I'm into slimming and not bulking and I've been using lower weight dumbbells and really proud of the look I'm getting in my arms with the Ballet Beautiful Swan Arms. My thighs are really slimming down an the quads aren't so bulky as they were. On a short person like me, it looks chunky! Maybe Cathe could check that out. Cathe will always be my favorite instructor and I still do plenty of Cathe workouts, just with lower weights.

Yeah, I would like some shorter barre workouts from Cathe. Particularly if that barre workout also included some floorwork for the lower body. A 30-minute barre workout followed by 30 minutes of floorwork, with 20-, 30-, and 45-minute premixes or something akin to that would be awesome!

I just don't have that much time (74 minutes) to devote to an all-barre workout very often. I have to psych myself up quite a bit for a 74-minute workout no matter what it is, and then it had better feel worth it when I'm done. :) Not that Turbo Barre doesn't feel "worth it", but I'd rather allot that full time to GS Legs or another tough, sweaty workout. I was surprised when I bought TB that there weren't more short premixes. I know people can just mix and match, but that can be a pain in the neck on really time-crunched days to program.

I LOVE the Turbo Barre workout but would echo the above comments. I have to plan ahead to make sure I start working out early enough if I want to do this one and so I rarely get the time to do it. Maybe a new ballet-style DVD could do away with the upper body weights.

Also, in response to the first post: yes, I'd love an all-stability ball DVD! Cathe always does such neat stuff--I'm sure she could manage a whole hour of it. I also find that stability ball routines are hard to come by. I am trying to find them for my elderly mother who really needs to work on balance but good ones are hard to find. So far the best one is Keli Roberts' Quick Fix (for mother). I'd like a harder one for myself but maybe with premixes that mother could manage.

LOVE 'Standing Abs' Stacy! That is one thing I find myself looking for on youtube all the time! Like it with med ball added usually, but that's not always necessary.
The trick with standing abs is to first show the student how to properly ground the feet, toes n all, align the knees and stabilize the hips, ribs, shoulders and chest of course. I've seen many an instructor (mostly in live classes), just forget about that and people just aren't getting what they ought to be from the workout. We know Cathe is an expert in form.

Yes! The lack of form pointers by instructors in some workouts can make me nuts. I will do some workouts (not by Cathe!) and am literally thinking the whole time about what the teacher should be telling the class- but isn't. Or I'll clearly see that they either don't know how to execute the workouts themselves for max results OR they have such great figures already (and have a large ego, to boot), they get away just "calling in" their performance. If only my body type allowed for such cheating!

I wasn't that critical towards trainers as a young, inexperienced exerciser in my teens years ago. I would just follow along blindly, stumbling along trying to emulate what they did. I cringe when I think of the many workouts done back then which yielded far fewer results & far more injuries. I sincerely hope the Internet availability today helps prevent some of that from happening to modern exercisers. Well, the ones that have time and energy to do their research...
