Ugh! I knew this was gonna happen......

and I'm already regreting what I've posted in the past about preordering the 3 new DVDs. I honestly got really excited when the annoucement came out about the new dvds. Then my practical side told me hold up wait a minute...do I really need these new dvds? I have just about all of Cathe's videos that money could be used in a more useful way ...kids school lunch , car needing fixing...my high electric bill, well you get the idea.

Ok so it's close to that time when I need to tell myself again...do I really need these? while my id part of my brain is screaming order order order! Oh lordy me what to do? Thanks to our tax refund I have the extra money , still want to get that troy lite barbell, I could use some new clothes as everything in my closet fits my body 2 sizes too big. The hubby keeps saying 'we gotta get you new pants yours are getting way too baggy, I can't see your butt anymore'; Thanks Cathe! :)

I knew this was gonna happen yanno? Just when I thought I had it all under control my spontaneous shopper in me starts to scream yes, yes, yes.

So I sit here debating with myself still ...should I ? or shouldn't I? and if I do preorder well of course I have to take advantage of the no shipping on other stuff , right? So I have the S&H series, Intensity series , BB series and just about everything else. Do I order the PS series? or the terminator or ab hits? I got everything else in either vhs or dvd. See what I mean ?

Aye yae yae.

Okay I am really regreting saying that I was going to wait until the reviews come out because I'm feeling really anxsy about getting my cc out. Oh boy ! Shoulsd I or Shouldn't I? I should have sat on my hands when I said I wouldn't now I feel I'm going to have to eat crow. :( I thought I was being so smart and so strong by thinking I wouldn't.

Don't know what to do ...but I sure could use some more wax, fragrance oils and wicks to pour some candles, I sure like a stinky house...in a ummm it smells so good way.... maybe I should do that instead.

LOL I'm still not sure...ugh I knew this was gonna happen!

Well, you sure know what I am going to say, right??? GET THEM! Sounds to me like you will get them eventually so why not get them at the discounted price, eh? Plus, you NEED the PS Series too! :7 I am not one to ever do beginner workouts but I injured myself in November and I am STILL dealing with trying to get healed so I am thinking these workouts will be just what I need when I am able to come back. (My main reason for ordering them originally was for my daugher who will be post pregnancy right about when they should come out and also a hubby who wants to "learn" to step. Good Luck if you really think you shouldn't spend the $'s but it you can afford it, go for it!!! (I LOVE my Troy Lite barbell!)

:7 Hi ShyWolf, I'm chuckling to myself while reading your post. I know we discussed preorders in our Winter Blues thread, and you know what? It's okay if you change your mind. I don't think anyone will hold that against you.

I was one of those who opted to wait for the clips/reviews to come out, and I'm still doing that. I totally understand that luxury/necessity dilemma you have, and congratulations for needing clothes two sizes smaller. I guess, everything will come in its own sweet time.

When I had to make a decision about the Troy Lite, I decided to just get the bar as I still have a bunch of perfectly usable plates. I opted to use my fanny lifter instead of buying the high step, as I spent a lot of money on the former. Also, my lack of workout space keeps me from trading in that darn FL for a HS, since a HS isn't as compact as the FL. I decided on the Intensity series sans the Terminator, since I usually use the workouts as is or mix up segments in such a way that I work out in splits. Decisions, decisions...

Good luck on whatever you decide.:)

Boy oh boy!! That internal debate sounds very familiar, glad to know I'm not the only one going round and round and round again on this one. Being a single Mom to 3 growing Girl, finances are always an issue. Initially I wanted to order all 3 as well but, settled on ordering the advanced only. I am happy with my decision as I got a good price on a product I know will meet my expectations. Thanks to Cathe I am up for any advanced challenge she can throw our way but don't feel absolutely sure that I want to spend money on a workout that requires me to modify up to make it more challenging. Good old debate over 'wants' and 'needs'. I'll be happy with one new "Toy" for now and still have money to dole to my Children, so everyone gets what they need :), how can that be a bad decision?? Let us know what you decide.

Shywolf:

your initial reactions and instincts are to be trusted. Your initial reasoning was very sound. I remember it and applauded it then. Don't change it.

You are falling prey to Cathe sending you emails (I deleted mine) and posting on here that the sale ends today...are you so weak that you can be so easily manipulated by advertising? That is not the chatty side of Cathe talking to you, it is only her money making side. Ignore it.

Instead, let your husband take you clothes shopping, let him pick out the pants he wants to see you in and make him and yourself happpy. Watch the sparks fly between you as he appreciates your body all over again. Worth so much more than the desire to not miss out on a pre-sale. As Carson from Queer Eye says, "do not become a bargain whore."

Get that Troy Lite barbell. You will get more out of that purchase than out of buying the new High step (marketing ploy if ever I saw one) DVD's. That purchase will renew all your weights workouts you already own.

Don't be a BARGAIN WHORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is my last word. I am not buying them (I need the cash for Summer camp enrollment for my girls): keep me company and we'll resist the ad men together.

Clare.. I gotta hug you. As I read your posts I had on such a big smile and yanno what ? I will wait and see if I should add them to my oh so big Cathe video collection. I'm going to order that Troy lite bar as I've been lusting after it for about 6 months if not longer.
And Yes I can see Carson telling me to not be a bargain whore ...love that.
I had a weak moment and got a good shake from you ...thanks I needed that. ;)

I only ordered the advanced DVD -- didn't even consider ordering the others. I do Cathe workouts for many reasons, but the MAIN reason is because they challenge me. Workouts that don't challenge me are a complete waste of my precious workout time. On the rare occasion I'm recovering from an illness, I do yoga for a little while or I go lighter/do fewer reps with a Cathe weight workout or I do a Firm tape. For cardio, I do Step Heat or Christi Taylor or something equally less intense. These DVD's are aimed at beginning exercisers. Would you buy any other beginner workouts? I think a lot of Catheites are going to find that they don't use these, so a lot of them will wind up being sold or traded and, if you still want them, you would get them even more cheaply! I'd definitely go for some new clothes to fit that tight bod of yours!:)

I did it too! I don't need them. But I want them and that's enough. I am not beginner but I figure I'll pass them on if I can't use them like the other 10,000 tapes I bought and can't use! These are Cathe's workouts so I know they will be the creme de la creme of beginner tapes and I will love them. I have given away thousands of dollars worth of tapes but somehow these I'll keep! Because Cathe rocks and you can never be too rich, too thin or have too many Cathe workouts! Ok, too rich I have never experienced. too thin, ?? Not yet, not with this gut? but too many Cathe workouts?

Clare, you rock!!!!!!! Spot on advice. And I will ingrain that Carson saying in my mind. "Don't be a bargain whore."
