Okay, I know the drill....stay off it, no step for a while...but I just had to post to get a little cyber sympathy. I was beginning to work out last night, thought my dog had gone upstairs with his ball when ARGH...I step off the step and onto the darn ball and ARGH there goes the ankle twist....and there goes Donna screaming. Why is it when you have really committed yourself something always gets in the way??? I have been such a good cardio dobe lately even though I hate it...stepping at least 4 times a week when I much rather be lifting. Oh well...at least I can do abs and that lovely Pyramid upper dvd I just got! Thanks for letting me sob....Donna.

Awww Donna, I hate to say Welcome to my Club! Hang in there and you know the rule. Take it easy. Hopefully, in 5 months, you won't be still takin' it easy :7 No fun, I know. Hit the ABS/UB good and in no time, you'll be like new.

Oh, Donna, I'm so sorry. It must've really killed. At least you can still lift. Maybe you can do some floorwork?

Hope you feel better soon!:)

Cyber sympathy on its way!!!!!!!!

It sucks, huh? Just when things are going really well, a slip up ocurs that sets you back. It happens to me all the time. There's only one, maybe two, good thuings that can come from it:

1) you will really focus on upper body for a week, maybe two while your ankle heals. Time to fine tune and build strength.

2) Set backs can help us develop the inner strength to keep battling when the odds look grim in all walks of life. I truly believe it: you'll come back determined, you'll get back to where you were and you prove to yourself you can do it, and therefore you prove to yourself that you can do it again, and again, that you are not so easily defeated, and then this empowers you in all areas of your life, personal and professional.

What do you think? Have I persuaded you there's a silver lining?!!!

Sympathies...

Clare:)

Yuck Donna! Lets hope it is only minor and you can be stepping, kicking hopping and plyo-jumping soon!! Meanwhile you may be able to up those upper body weight limits with all the PUB workouts! Maybe this is a good time to try pilates???

You have my cyber sympathy too! (((((HUG))))) I twisted mine but good, as well as removing a lot of skin on the knee of the opposite leg when I fell running. Yes, I have running scars. LOL! Let that baby heal and then be very careful because they can be susceptible to re-injury. And use RICE-Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation to help it along! Good luck!

I sprained&overstretched the ligaments in my ankle over four weeks ago.I was in serious pain.Couldn't walk,it hurt just not moving it.I did go to work.I came home everyday and put heat on it.Stayed of it as much as possible.I put heat on it four times a day.I would leave it on for atleast 30 mins.I would stretch and move my ankle while the heat was on it.I would also stretch it as much as i could. The pain was unbelieveable.I neve experienced that kind of pain before. It felt great last Tuesday. No pain whatsoever.I did a light workout to test the waters.

It is back to normal.I've done three workouts so far this week.Ankle feels great.I know it is going to take atleast four weeks to get into the workout groove again. It makes you realize and appericate your ablity to workout. It has definitely changed my way of thinking.Putting heat on it,help tremendously. Also, staying off it as much as i could. But,you do need to move it.Have to get that blood going.Plus, keep it from getting stiff.Good luck!

Hey everybody...thanks for all the cyber sympathy!! Well, things are looking way up, cause I got up today with very little pain and almost no swelling at all. I did have to stand on it for most of the day today...darn that thing called work...and I was the baker of the bagels again today...so I got through lots of lifting and standing today, and while it is not fine....it is not so bad. Maybe I got more than cyber sympathy from you all...but maybe some cyber healing!!! I am not going to do any cardio or lower body standing work til at least the end of the week...but I can not wait to do a killer session of PUB. Thanks again for all your encouragement...I just knew you all could feel my pain!! Donna.:)
