Turbo Chat

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First THANKS HEDY! I kept trying to ask her if there would be more sequences versus doing the same thing over and over, and you worded it perfectly! I sent you a copy of the chat, so if I miss anything please add it. Chalene said "... I think i'll be sticking to that same type of format for the Cardio parties, where we do one routine on the right , then the left, but each party will break it down faster, so there will be more advanced layers and less repeating of the simple stuff." So I think she will be doing exactly what I hoped for. She said she would add layers quicker to advanced more quickly. I couldn't figure out how to word it, but "Hedgy" as Chalene called her did LOL.

Tempo WILL increase in the next set of Cardio Parties, but within safety limits.

There will DEFINITELY be multiple Turbos. At one point she said TWO back-to-back Turbos...whew that's gonna be killer! Another will have FIVE Turbos and be really kickbutt. That one will probably be called "Fat Burner" or "Fat Zapper."

She agrees the music should be louder.

In a matter of days 2 more "live" videos will be filmed. She said people have been asking what it would be like to take a class with her and so she will do it straight through, no hosing off and no breaks. All mistakes will be shown. It will be filmed with real students, no instructors.

Three weeks after that FOUR more new "studio" videos with the instructors and cast will be shot.

One workout will be CPR=Cardio Party Remix where she is taking the best parts of the Cardio Party workouts and take it more advanced. The footage she said is new, but the songs and routines may be the same although taken up a notch.

Another workout will be Total Booty Sculpt. It obviously is sculpting, but this time with heavier weights and "booty shaking." She said she can't see Tony doing it, but he may surprise her (personally I think he would do it for a laugh).

She does not know when the new videos will be ready but "soon" because she said (swallow if you are drinking) "BB really listens to it's customers." Except apparently about improving customer service over the past 3+ years.

She *may* make finesse sections longer, but she liked putting as much cardio in as possible. That way people could work on form and technique.

The warmup will likely stay the same. She has had the same one for 8 years and the feedback she has received is people like going on automatic to warmup. I kind of agree with her there.

She's thinking about doing "The Robot" routine. My kids will be mortified.

To burn more she said the typical, use full body movements, be more explosive, go lower in stances, etc. She also said as you do this your form will improve and therefore you will burn more calories using TJ as your cardio. I have noticed that with ALL my kickboxing workouts when I compare them too.

Tips for the "tuck" are not leaning back on the tuck, just as if your shoulders are against an imaginary wall behind you, or slightly forward from it, but never rounding forward.

I did NOT ask her to stop saying "how fun" and "phenomenal" the workout is as when 1 girl said she thought it was too advanced people jumped all over her ass. I can live with that if she just makes the workouts with less repetitiveness.

She touched on her and Brett or whatever her husband's name is loving the supplements. He really worries if they run low. Fortunately she did not talk much about it because the last chat it drove me crazy.

Thank you for all the info... I have been doing the Turbo Jam workouts all week and am really enjoying them. Last night I did the Cardio Party 2 and Ab Jam...

One question for you all though - do your DVD's freeze??? It seems every DVD freezes in the same place each time and it is such a hassle to get back to where you were. I thought I had read something before where someone else was having the same problem...

You are welcome. My dvds don't freeze. They work great. In the Turbo Jam BB forum there is a thread about the DVD problems.

Yes- I was just reading the thread on the beachbody forum - there was a poll on there that showed that 70% of the propl had problems.. I really enjoy these workouts and the freezing is such a workout killer...

There is info on there stating that they have remastered the DVD's and will have new ones to ship in October to people that have been having issues...

Someone of the videofitness reader forum posted this about the Turbo Jam chat:

The chat yesterday was really nice... To add to the really good summary done by Stephanie B, Chalene also mentioned to have one dvd with probably 2 30-min workouts; one bootcamp styled, more athletics not that dancey and one workout with 5 turbos.

This was a better chat as she was really into taking requests and recommendations for future workouts. There was also a request made for an upper body workout which Chalene said she could work on it.
