~*~Tuesday Melting Pot~*~

Good morning everyone...

Another awful sleeping night and of course no workout this morning..I have to stop eating those M&M's after dinner...I think it's the caffine in them that is keeping me from sleeping. They are also keeping me from melting! Well we are all having a chuckle about our slimey governor and his antics with a prostitution ring...it wouldn't be so ironic if he didn;t put on such moral airs, now he is the one that got caught. That's politics for you..

Shannon:
How lucky you are that they even closed your office for a threat of snow! We never close, even if there is a blizzard and 2-3 feet of snow..then we are still expected to try to get in. Go ahead and have that chocolate...you deserve it! Just don;t eat it close to bed time or you will have the kind of nights I have been having.

Lainie:
I hear you on the DOMS..I still have them from my waist down from 4DS leg work Sunday.

Tneah:
Fun in the sun Queen!

Leanne:
It sounds like you are super busy lately...I love the bracelet.

Robin:
Give Greyor a {{Hug}} from me! He sounds so cute.

Have a great day!

Deb

Okay, I'm back, all showered and cramming down some cereal!

Deb - back away from the M&M's!! Those things are so addictive, aren't they? Nobody here closes for snow either, but I think we're a wee bit more used to it than they are in Arkansas. Right, Shannon?

Shannon - sorry to hear about the stress at work. I've been in your shoes before and I know how awful it feels. I think you deserve chocolate:)

Lainie - how're those DOMS? I can see the Scarlett comparison. I can also see Drew Barrymore. I never get anyone like that. I've had a few people tell me that I remind them of Ellen. Not exactly something to be thrilled about, huh?

Tneah - yes, I have loooooooooooooong PMS too. Mine started sometime last week and Aunt Flo isn't due to arrive until Friday. Maybe she'll come early. We can only hope. I bet you're looking forward to those rest days at the end of your 12 weeks!

Leanne - that bracelet is GORGEOUS! Thanks for the PMS support. I'll come screaming to you guys if I need help resisting junk!

Robin - how adorable that Greyor watched Bootcamp while you were riding the bike!!! He's such a little dollface:)

Well, my run was pretty abysmal this morning. I managed to squeak out 4.75 miles (it was supposed to be six) and had to run to the bathroom twice. TMI? After the second bathroom break, I gave up.

Okay, now that I've written a book, I'm off to make my lunch! Chat later!

Morning, ladies -

I got my chocolate. Mom invited me to dinner and had some chocolate chip cookie bars, which are my favorite. It didn't help much though. I'm still feeling pretty down in the dumps. No workout last night - I had to get my hair cut. I did fit in a stretch though, and lots of "pet therapy" with my doggie. :)

Deb - chocolate before bed doesn't bother me one little bit. I'm immune to its effects. }( Keep it up, and you will be too.

Shelley - all things considered, I think that nearly five miles isn't bad, especially for that early in the morning. Run up the stairs a time or two today at the office and you'll be fine. :7

I'll see the rest of you gals later!

Morning everyone,

I am checking in on DH's PC since my Mac isn't picking up a signal. Think I will do the switch back when we are in SD, too frustrating.

Its supposed to get pretty cold here starting tomorrow, so the sunny days are limited. Something about a marine layer and winds...

Robin, Your little Greyor is so cute watching grandma do Bootcamp, he would get a kick out of me doing that workout, but then I would have to watch the obscentites I tend to scream at Cathe...}(

Shelley, good luck with the PMS beast today, I think I might be headed towards that territory this week, I am already getting weepy. That peeing thing happens to me all the time during workouts...my bladder is the size of a pea.:p

Shannon, chocolate, know you have me dreaming of chocolate, pasta, and so on...all those good carbs...:9 Hang in there with the work thing, I know its tough for you.

Deb, sorry bout the sleep thing, I would offer you my bed tonight, I sleep so much better on the boat...but then again, you would have to deal with a snoring man too!:7

Hi to Lainie, TK, Leanne and everyone else, BBL if my computer starts working. Sheesh. Its a cardio only day I think, my bod is tired and cranky today, and I think I might be developing some sort of sciatica thing in my left butt cheek, it runs down into my hamstring and causes muslce spasms that hurt like the dickens.

Hi everyone. Sorry I didn't get back for personals yesterday.

Shannon, {{{HUGS}}} So sorry to hear about your work woes. You left a bad situation for this one too, I recall. I hope you can find something before it gets much worse.

Shelley, I agree with Shannon. That run may have been pitiful for you, but it would have been over twice as far as I can run. Or at least, as far as I used to be able to run.

Deb, are you still sick? I hope you get a good night's sleep tonight. Yeah, I'd try to skip the after dinner M&Ms if I were you.

tneah, when do you meet up with Mr Trainerman? I sure hope you don't have sciatica. Is it the side you had the hip replaced?

No workout plans for me today. After work, I have to do some grocery shopping, then I have a meeting at church in the early evening. Have a melty day all.

Hello all. Still not adjusted to the time change. Of course, ya'll already know I get tired a lot, so any little tweak of the schedule is sure to just make me more tired.

I didn't do my workout first thing this morning, but managed to do it after dropping Isaac off at the bus stop. I did Low Max intervals 1-4 on a 4" step holding my medicine ball during the blasts. I only had to pause and move Ewan off my step a couple of times. I did it with my laptop in the dining room, where there's more room for those grapevines off the side. I'm glad I did it today instead of Sunday when I had planned it because my quads would never have made it--I did better even with the higher impact 4DS HIS that day just because there's less lunging, squatting, etc. My quads aren't so bad today, thank goodness.

Deb, the Spitzer prostitution thing is pretty insane. What was he thinking? Duh. Bad enough to cheat on your wife, but to do it with a prostitute you imported from NY to DC? Plus he had a "credit" with them from previous use? Yikes. DH just keeps saying stuff like "wonder if that was our tax dollars paying for that."

Shelley, are you sure people don't just compare you to Ellen because you're funny or something? I haven't seen enough of your face to tell you who you look like. Better to be too cool for comparison, anyway. My best friend used to have a smile like Meg Ryan, until Meg Ryan got the weird trout pout from lip collagen. Anyway, I have the same problem with needing to pee during workouts--especially if I do some jumping around--tiny bladder plus not enough Kegels.... It was always a big issue when I was jogging outside, since I like to jog on a trail with no place to pee.

Shannon, is your workplace becoming like a sinking ship, or what? I've been in that kind of situation. Ugh.

Robin, I wonder if that Bootcamp trick would work for Ewan when I need to work out--except I don't have Bootcamp, but I bet he'd enjoy watching Kick Max.

Tneah, yikes, hope that sciatica or whatever it is eases up. I only had that when pregnant, but I remember how painful it was.

Afternoon all!

Ummm.... just so y'all know, it ain't a peeing problem I have when I run:p Now I'm SURE that's TMI.

Tneah - okay, you need to stop a minute. What you're describing sounds JUST LIKE piriformis syndrome and if that's the case, you are going to have to ease back on the workouts because... well, you know what? I'm gonna get Emily to come in here and talk to you. She's the piriformis expert, and is just getting over a really bad bout with it where she couldn't work out AT ALL for a month.

Lainie - I spit out my water when you said you had to pause a couple of times to move Ewan off the step. It reminds me of the kid's book "Olivia". "Every morning, Olivia gets up, moves the cat, brushes her ears, moves the cat...":p

*pokes head in* Did someone say my name??? ;-)

Tneah, Shelley told me you're having sciatica pain. Oh no! It hurts like a mofo, but the good news is that it's totally fixable (assuming that it is indeed caused by your piriformis). You say it "causes muscle spasms", but if it's piriformis syndrome, the fact is that the muscle spasms are causing the sciatica, not the other way around. The treatment basically involves getting the piriformis muscle to relax, so that it stops irritating the sciatic nerve. Lots of different things you can try to do this - DEEP tissue massage therapy is great, as is stretching and Yoga (specific Yoga poses to address this area are pigeon pose, "pretzel" pose, child's pose, triangle pose). I also had great success seeing a chiropractor. You may also want to try tennis ball self-massage (sit on the floor, put a tennis ball under your butt cheek and start slowly rolling around on it to try and get the muscle to release). I could go on and on... piriformis syndrome SUCKS but there are lots of things you can do about it. And it's best to take care of it sooner rather than later, or you'll end up like me - sidelined for a month of misery. Blech. PM or email me if you want to chat about it some more! :)

I everyone... oh joy, we're getting ready to go into our weekly staff meeting. Anybody want to join me?

Tneah - dang, woman, you be careful. Listen to Shelley. After all your hard work, you do NOT want to be sidelined. I hope you're okay!

Robin - your evening sounds busy!! Whew. Yes, I basically jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire with my job change oh, about a year ago. It was bad there, but this situation is getting ridiculous.

Lanie - it sounds like you can count the child-moving as a bonus weight lifting segment of your routine! :p And you guessed right... I'm on a sinking ship here at work. At least, that's sure what it seems like. Sigh. I hope you adjust soon to the time change.

Shelley - just be glad you weren't outside running. :p

Shannon - oh it happens frequently when I run outside too. I have learned how to walk very quickly with my butt cheeks clenched tight:p There have been times when I've been tempted to knock on doors to see if I can borrow a bathroom:p

And no, I don't want to attend your meeting with you. Maybe Emily will. She likes meetings ;)

Shelley, ohhhhhh, yeah, I've had that problem when running, too, but usually it's just the peeing thing.

Hey, we got a visit from Emily *waves to Emily*

Shannon, sorry about the sinking ship. I managed to escape the one I was on for another job and not long after I quit they let go almost everyone in that little office--went from 12 or so people to 3. In that case it was mainly because they'd had a dude embezzling money, so it was rather tense just being there. I hope yours isn't that bad!

Hey Guys,

Yep, I have had that darn sciatica before, went to a chiro and it worked like a charm. Its running down my left side-the side with the "normal" hip. It started when I really concentrated on riding my spin bike, so I am wondering if the hard seat is doing a number on that nerve?I also have two vertabrae in my back that are "ready to go" according to the MD who did my whole body scan (its called an Accuscan where they cat scan your whole body)and warned against doing any high impact exercise-whatever, I still do plyo stuff sometimes. They are in my lower back, so that could be effecting the whole thing too.

I do all those stretches, always have, I am really good about stretching since my whole hip deal. It really bugged me sitting in the car on the ride down to SD, but now, I can tell my hamstring is tight, but its not cramping up like it did. I am also not riding my spin bike here either. I will keep a cautious eye on it though, you are right, the last thing I need is to have to stop everything and wait for some stupid injury to heal...I know you all have been there!x( I am also rolling it out on those foam rollers--ouch. But thanks Emily, I will try the tennis ball deal, sounds painful, but effective!

Okay, off to clean the floors..I simply cannot get away from dirty floors, boat, house, car....oh and Shelley, yep, I know what ya mean, when you REALLY gotta go, well, you gotta go! ;)

Lainie, I try and remember to do Kegels along with my ab workouts, but good grief, yet one more muscle we have to worry about exercising for heaven's sake!
