Good morning ladies. Got back from my short trip last night and cannot wait to work out!!!! Seeing all the new pictures from the workouts was so cool! I did exercise when I was at my FIL's. I ran 9 miles and did some ab work Friday and then Sunday I did a 16 mile run. Where my FIL lives it is all on dirt roads with some pretty steep hills so I know I got in a good workout. It was also great seeing my DH's sister's and brother and all their kids!! First time (since going vegetarian) eating a Thanksgiving dinner and not eating Turkey! I did have Tofu instead...I know...yuk! It was a garlic and pepper Tofu so not bad. And I do love that green bean casserole...I ate tons!!

I did look back at some of the last days posts. Looks like those of you doing Cathe's Nov rotation are doing quite well. Today I am doing ME and a 7-8 mile run. I am on my recovery week of the P90X Lean rotation (which is no lifting) but I have missed weights so I will do some this week....great to be home.....:)...enjoy the workouts....Carole

Great to see your post, Carole! It sounds like you had a really nice weekend! I was vegetarian for a year (about 9 years ago), and it was the holiday turkey that broke me. I thought life was too short to have to pass that up every year. Good for you for sticking to your guns. Do you feel any different now that you are vegetarian?

This morning I did Power Hour (yay) followed by MIC hi/lo (blech). I think I'm starting to get a cold (another blech).

Have a good day everyone!
Sandra

Sandra...I have never felt better! I never even thought being a vegetarian would be an option for me. But after reading a few books "Eat to Live" Joel Fuhrman, and then "The Food Revolution" John Robbins (son of the Baskin & Robbins partner, Baskins was his uncle) I really had my eyes opened about consuming animal protein. I remember the 1st 2 weeks on the vegey diet as being AWFUL!!! But I lost 21 lbs (also started P90X at the same time) and for the first time in my life....my thighs got smaller...:D I love fruits, vegeys and beans. It seems like there is a whole new world of food out there I have never eaten! It has been almost 6 months and I don't miss animal protein at all...as I beleive life is all about choice....vegetarian was a good choice for me!...:)...Carole

Hi Ladies! Welcome back Carole, glad you enjoyed your visit, sounds like fun:) The holidays are definitely the true test of commitment to vegetarian, good for you! I made vegetarian chili with TVP last night and my Kiddos didn't know the difference until I told them. Vegetarian cooking has come along way in the past 10 years.

I had kind of a fun workout today:). I taught a yoga class to a grade 11/12 girls gym class today at a local high school. They were eager and participated very well. I thought it was great that they were getting exposure to non competitve fitness. After the class I came home and did the BodyPump class that I'll teach Thursday and Saturday. My members asked for a 'head banger' class:) so I put together some Metallica, Aerosmith and Creed for them.

Hope you shake that cold Sandra!

Hi everybody,
Long time no check in - I really have no explanation but I just haven't checked in for a while-so here I am:)

Today I did PS-Back Biceps and Abs. I am doing the November rotation but am having to tweak it a bit. I just got CTX series, Slow and Heavy, Circuit Max/Cardio Kicks, and Power Hour+ yesterday so I can't wait to try them all!!!!:+ I need to buy some more weights for my barbell because it sounds like I will need them with S&H.

Carole- I've heard others mention the book "Eat to Live" by Joel Fuhrman on here before and am planning on buying it along with the book that is something like "Your body's many cries for water".
I think it was you who told me that once I get into the habit of drinking more water I won't be spending so much time in the bathroom- you are right and thanks for helping me hang in there:) Oh, and glad you had fun on your trip.

Laurie- I'm anxious to hear how the Headbanger class goes- it sounds like so much fun!

Have a great day everyone, Wendy

What?! No Nickleback? And you call yourself Canadian, eh??

Thanks. Things aren't feeling too good right now. I couldn't even remember the name of Nickleback - had to check the internet. My brain is becoming very, very fuzzy.

All the best,
Sandra

Hi Carole and welcome back, congrats on the weight loss.

I did the November rotation workout, S&H Back, Biceps and MIC's hi/lo section. I am back to no sugar and down 4 pounds this morning so I am on a roll. Starving mind you but on a roll, haven't experimented again to see if I can rule out or make another deduction in my intolerances. I am just happy to be coming back down.:D

Have a great day!!:D :7

Coooool!! You will not regret your purchases - these are all terrific workouts! In fact, in a couple of weeks I will be doing a rotation that uses the entire CTX series, Circuit Max/Cardio Kicks, and Slow & Heavy. These workouts complement each other really, really well. I'm using the Power Hour+ dvd for my rotation this week, coupled with the Rhythmic Step+ dvd.

I checked that out in the bookstore once, but wasn't impressed by how stringent you had to be - and all the millions of pounds of raw vegetables you had to eat every single day. I'd be interested in hearing how you like it, if you think it is a good eating plan to follow. Obviously some people have found it a good thing, and it has worked for them.

Cheers,
Sandra

Vegetarianism works for you!! Wow! 21 pounds just by taking out animal protein. Good for you, Carole! I can see why you are so dedicated to it. I'm glad I ate vegetarian for a year, because during that time I explored a variety of different foods. I now have lean animal protein quite regularly, but also have vegetarian meals quite frequently, so I'm happy with the balance that I've found. It's all about finding what works for ourselves, isn't it?

Nice to have you back,
Sandra

Hey Sandra, you're too right! We love Nickleback!! Chad Kroeger's a code 3 hottie, around here we refer to him as my 'boyfriend':7 As it happens,:) we're doing abs to Avril's "Complicated" proud Canuck that I am!

Take Care
Laurie:)

Hi Laurie....I am making vegetarian chili with TVP tonight! Love the stuff plus a little Tofutti sour cream on top...:). Yes the holidays will be a true test, but glad I got about 6 months under my belt before the holidays start!

Not a huge Metallica fan but I agree with Sandra and Nickelback!! At work we say Nickelback "sounds like Creed" in some of their songs. I'd say add some Three Doors Down, Hoobastank, Linkin Park and maybe some Matchbox Twenty...:D.

It was great doing ME again...I hadn't done it since July! P90X has gotten me strong and I increased alot of my weight amount since the last time I did ME. I bet I'll be a bit sore tomorrow, pleasantly though... }(

Carole

Today I did Kick Punch and 40 minutes of Pilates. I'll be walking my dog after dinner for about 35 minutes. The pics of Cathes new DVD's are motivating me sooo much! Susan

Hey Carole: I've never heard of Tofutti but it sure sounds good. I love dipping fruit in yogurt, Tofutti might be a great alternative.

I do have some Linkin Park in my repetoire and I absolutely love Rob Thomas from Matchbox Twenty. It's awesome that we still like some harder music, it's so powerful and motivating. I love that my 13 year old is discovering some of my music, she's really liking Led Zeppelin and Nirvana these days.

It's fabulous that you've gained strength with P90X. I find it so difficult to work my way up in weights with endurance workouts like ME, great work!!

Take Care
Laurie :)

Sandra,
Do you mind sharing your rotation of CTX and Circuit Max/Cardio Kicks and Slow and Heavy?

Thanks, Wendy

Wendy,

I'm off to bed right now (just hopped on to look at the new pics!). I'll try to remember to post it tomorrow; please remind me if I forget.

Nighty night,
Sandra
-why isn't there a sleeping smilie face?
