TTC/Preggo's Wednesday

I hope everyone is doing well today. Last nite i FINALLY got a workout in after work since my DH was working. I did Angie Miller's Strength and Core fusion. My legs were quivering which NEVER happens! I feel so out of shape. I'm actually sore today in my quad for some reason. I had a hard time. I counted my workout days and i've only worked out 11 days this month. thats just terrible for me. Between the pregnancy, kids and my shift it was a bad fitness month. And i ate more than i normally do and had more junk! Im trying to get my butt back in gear and be healthy and normal. With the road trip coming up, i coulndt have picked a worse time to 'let myself go' :) Sigh..just beating myself up.

DH wasnt answering his phone last nite and wasnt home at 6am when i got up. i started to get worried because of the line of work we do. he finally walked in as i was leaving 30 minutes later and i scolded him. An officer we know got shot and killed last week on duty and it really hit to close to home. He was only 30, had a wife and three kids all under the ,age of 4. Sad and senseless. Makes me think twice about this job and my dh and now with a baby on the way. I'm struggling with things since that happened. I mean, you know going in to the job but you just never know. And it only takes a second. My husband was on a dangerous call last nite - guns all over the place. People get killed for the dumbest reasons. I cant help but worry..

ok..im going off on a tangent! Sorry everyone. I know you all will listen tho.

On a brighter note, this weekend i'll be shopping for workout outfits. Kate, how many would you recommend - four - one for each workout? i'll most likely shop at Target. I'm broke..then again target isnt always that cheap!

Jen, No worries on the lack of workouts. In my 1st tri, I hardly workedout at all and I existed on white bread. Now the midwife says I need to eat MORE! You'll be doing better soon - I promise! And things will be back to normal with the kids gone too. So sorry about the other cop. How terrible. His poor family. I'm sure its very stressful for you guys. For WO outfits I'd recommend 3. One for Friday, 1 for Sat, and 1 for Sunday. You MIGHT want an extra for Sat - depends how sweaty you get, but I found I overpacked big time.

No big plans here today. Need to do a major house cleanup! Laundry, groceries, picking up - all those fun mom chores!

Have a good AM - bbl..

Melanie, Thinking of you...

Morning!
Ahh..I actually slept last night. I have never been a good sleeper. I wake up 2 or 3 times to pee etc and just cant go back to sleep. Last night time got away from us and dd was up at 10 so I just went to bed with her. I woke up at midnight but went right back to sleep and slept til 4, then til 530...that is GOOD for me!
Jen, so sorry about the officer. I know that puts worries in your mind. Glad you got a workout in!
Kate-HI..have fun with all your mom stuff! Do you plan on working out??
Today its just normal chores, errands and pool.
Almost time for babymaking 101. I go for my yearly next week, I'll be glad to get that out of the way. You girls wait til you are 40.....you get a big suprise then!!!! I have only had it once and did NOT like it!
DD is up...bbs

Thanks Kate. I sweat ALOT and get all red and nasty so i guess i'll bring the four.
Is there time to shower in between? Or did most people just stay stinky? I cant quite recall teh schedule of events.

Thanks for the encouragement. Im sure i'll get back in to the swing of things. My psyche wont let me go a long time without working out. Im mental like that :)

Good morning susan, glad you got some sleep in. good luck with your appointment and baby making!

my next appointment is aug 15 - dh's bday! i think its another ultrasound? They check for downs and two other genetic things. scary...

Good morning. Hope everyone is off to a great start. yesterday was a bad day, all except for Imax 2, I did the whole thing(ok the intensity was wayyyy off but I did it). Rest of the day was crap. My sister who is a hypochondriac has a 2 year old dd, who got the stomach flu(she just started going to mothers day out this summer and seems to be pick up stuff left and right). My sis called me 14 times yesterday(no exaggeration) and the poor childs fever never was over 101 and she only threw up 3 times. Finally by 7 pm I told her to call the pedi. and he said(and he was a jerk)that if she was so worried to go to the ER. So then sis cried for a hour about being a bad mom. She also made her husband come home from work because of this. I just don't know how to help her. Kids get sick, its part of the fun, but when I tell you she was this close to mental collapse over it, I am not kidding. Any advice? Other than that I worked, went to the pool and did absolutely nothing around the house and it shows! Inlaws went into San Antonio for the day (thank god).
Kate-How did Cathe look? I am so happy you went, spill all details when you get caught up at home. Maybe today will be very productive for you and you can get all your errands done! Then go eat Ice cream(it will get your dr off your back)
Susan-what big surprise a 40? Do they give your flowers or a gift certificate for the spa or something?::p I hope this is the month!!!What workout are you trying today?
JenM-I told hear you about the workouts. I am 14 weeks now, but oh my I was lucky to workout once a week from week 7-12. Then last week all was better and I worked out 5 times and 3 times already this week. It really does get better. i will pray for that poor officer who lost his life and I will keep your husband in my prayers too.
Lisa-So cool about Hawaii. We went to Maui for 2 weeks once, best 2 weeks ever.
Stephanie-Ok, I think your weight gain sounds fine. Now that they have changed the guidelines again they are all over pregnant women and their weight. I give up, healthy babies are the end product we want!
Kristan-have you gone back to work already? What kind of law do you practice?
Maggie-Hi! How are you feeling?
Hi to Candra,Jen, Trish, and anyone else I forgot.
Melanie-praying for you.

Mikki- no, not at work yet, but the continuing education report is due by 7-31 and I had to get my hours in. I am on short term disability until 8-31 then I'll start working from home. WOn't show up at the office until at least October.

Your SIL sounds like quite a case. At least she seems earnest in her concern- I think my SIL loves going to the ER/bugging doctors because she likes the attention (a little Munchausen by proxy, but I don't think she'd ever hurt her kids on purpose).

Kate- will you do my laundry too? I agree- I really like the cardio in High Im. 4ds.

Susan, Likely no WO today - Wed. is my regular rest day. Too busy on Wednesdays. I'll be back at it tomorrow though! Mammogram huh? Yuck!

Jen, Showering - not much time. there are only 7 showers. More than half don't shower between the 1st and 2nd wo's.

Mikkia, Sorry about your sis. That would send me over the cliff! My SIL is the same way. Cathe looked amazing!!! Will post details soon - I promise! Tons of work issues this AM! I shouldn't even be here but Im sick of work stuff!

Kristan, Send your laundry over! It's a really long story why but I have 2 sets of washers and dryers and I can get laundry done FAST! JUst need the work issues to go away today! GR!

Hi Girls,
I just got done with my w/o. I did 40 min of intervals on the tm..got a good sweat in.

Mikkia-the 40 suprise is the ole finger in the booty!! Last year I was NOT expecting that. He held his finger out to his nurse for KY they before I knew it, it was done. YUCK EWWW GROSSS. I am not looking forward to that at all.

Off to shower and play with dd. bbl

Kate we posted at the same time. Mammograms are not bad at all...a little awkward, but not painful..at least for me.

Susan, I had a gyno do that to me before too! Nastiest thing ever! Like I was pooping in reverse!!!! He didn't even give me any warning that it was coming! I have never ever been so grossed out and violate in all my life. It was the one and only time I ever saw that creep. He also acted like he enjoyed the breast exam a little too much! WIERDO!!!!

Hi ladies.

Jen--So sorry your DH didn't call you and put your mind at ease last night. You must have been really worried. I think that it is totally justified too. But I've also found that any worries I have are 100 times amplified when pregnant. I am really in awe of you two for the work you do. Don't worry about the workouts. Like Kate said, the first trimester is horribly tiring. You'll get a lot more energy next trimester. Oh, and Target has their jog bras on sale. I think it's the champion brand. I love love love them, and plan on getting me a couple more.

Kate--I also need to do major clean-up around here. It's getting hard to bend down and pick up the playroom, and I just told DH last night he's got to scrub the bathrooms good this weekend. I can get the sink/toilet, but the shower and floor are a bit harder for me. Plus, he needs to get back into the swing of it. I cannot tell you how many clothes I STILL have to fold today. Ugh. (P.S. That is SO cool that you have two washers/dryers!!)

Susan--Glad you got a good sleep in! I think that's been part of my problem. I've been peeing three times a night, and wake up exhausted. Then the whole day is sluggish. I'm blaming my bladder for my inability to workout. :) As for the doc. Eww... And I was dreading a mammogram. Yikes.

Mikkia--Glad the in-laws were out of your hair yesterday. Sorry your sister was a bit neurotic. My sister also is a bit neurotic. Stomach bugs are the worst, so I totally sympathize with her. As long as her little one stays hydrated, she doesn't need to worry too much. My doc did say apple juice is the worst thing to give them (though it is my kids' favorite thing to drink), so I gave them orange juice when they had their nasty stomach bug last year. It worked well and kept them hydrated. They HATE pedialyte, so I didn't give them that. Now I give gatorade, but wouldn't do that when they were younger because of the amount of electrolytes in it. Now that I have bored you to tears...

Kristan--How are you today? How's Mimi?

______

OK, better get busy. Henry is very grumpy and froggy sounding today. Oliver doesn't understand that Henry is sick and doesn't feel like playing, so he's picking on him and making him even grumpier. I don't like this game. Oh well, I'll go fix them breakfast, and maybe that will make them happier. (We slept in today because Henry was up coughing last night.) I'm happy to report that I bought healthy food at the store yesterday and plan on really doing better from here on out. I even bought some Ezekiel Bread to try. Anyone eat this stuff? Oh, and I made some of Mel's muffins for my nightly dessert. (It's a bad habit I just can't/won't/refuse to break.) Hope you ladies have a wonderful day!! Uh-Oh, better go feed the natives; they're getting barbaric. :) Later taters...

Stephanie- I love Ezkeil bread especially toasted with nat pb! If youre not one for hearty bread it will take some getting used to.

Susan-You are cracking me up! Just another reason to love getting older.
Kate-I wish I had 2 washers and a dryer. I have a high efficiency washer thats great on water conservation but takes so blasted long to wash!!!
Kristan-I need to do my CE too, I just can't seem to do it! That is great staying out of the office as long as possible. My sis has been this way her whole life. Even when we were kids. She has tried several different types of meds until she became obsessed about side effects. Then in Feb she fell down the neighbor's back yard steps and Maddie broke her heel. She was a disaster, it was a witnessed fall and everyone wanted to call 911 for my sis, because she was hysterical thinking she hurt her, while Maddie was actually tyring to comfort her. It wasn't until days later that she went to the ortho surgeon who thought his saw a hairline fissure in her heel, but she demanded a cast anyhow. Ever since then it has been worse. I have talked to her about help, but she is not there yet. I guess supportive listening is all I've got...

Thank you for the heads up on the sports bra sale at Target. I will probably look around there on Friday or Saturday. I wonder if they have other sports gear on sale

well if noone else showers between the first and second workout i wont either. thanks kate! i just dont want to offend anyone. i REALLY sweat. Red face, sweaty drippy body...blech. Always have. How much time in between the three workouts on saturday?

Good Morning!!

JenM, sorry about your rough night. I would have been really worried too. Being pregnant does not help at all.

Kate, I will being doing chores today too. We are going to go meet dh for lunch though.

Susan, I was laughing at your first post b/c I remember my sis went to a doctor in her 20's and she got the little extra. She didn't know it was coming and was mortified afterwards. Then my other sis who is a nurse told her they weren't suppose to do that until she was 40 so she switched doctors.

Stephanie, hope your little guy starts feeling better. It is no fun to have a coughing child at night.

Mikkia, your poor sister is going to make herself crazy.

Kristan, sounds like you get a nice break from work. How is having 4?

Hi Jen, Maggie, Trish and Lisa!!

Melanie, I am still praying for you!

I am off to work out. I think I am going to do Kelly Coffey-Meyer The Shape of Things to Come. I will do the elliptical for the cardio though b/c it is too high impact. I already put in my first load of laundry. I wish I had the two sets you have Kate:) BBL

Candra

Mikkia,

Stephanie, Sounds like a lively day at your house! YIKES! Hope your little one turns around soon! No fun to be sick! That's great you can get DH to clean! In my dreams!

Susan, yes, got a new doc right away!

Mikkia, Double wow on your sis!

Jen, The time between WO's depends on when you choose to take class #2. You get split up. One group listens to a lecture the other does the WO then you switch. Honestly, you could do the WO 1st, skip the lecture and shower then before lunch. Otherwise if you do the WO 2nd you'll go straight to lunch from your WO. There would be time for a FAST shower...

groceries are bought and put away..need to make lunch now.,.bbl

thanks kate i hope im not pestering you too much about the RT. Im trying to prepare myself lol.
are the lectures/presentations boring? i read somewhere that people felt like it was a fitness conference and they werent really interested in it
