YAY! The weekend!

We are leaving soon for the Detroit Zoo, so my workout will be WalkMax.

Everybody feeling good today?

Susan~enjoy your company this weekend. What kinda pie are you making??

Melanie~I agree NO guilt for working out. Would you feel bad about taking medicine you needed to live? Nope.. so no guilt about working out. It is medicine for your body! As for the leg cramps have you tried taking a calcium/Mag/Zinc pill? I have taken on of those for about 2 years now and I have no leg cramps. Since I run so much I was very prone to getting the cramps before preg, but as soon as I started taking that pill it stopped.. I haven't had any this preganncy either.

Kristan~wow you are so close!! Great job on getting the workouts in last week!

Jen~glad you are okay from your fall. Happy birthday!\

Kate~enjoy the zoo today! Sounds fun!

I am just going to do more packing today. I have about 1/3 of the yard left to mow.. then maybe I'll try to get a run in. I actually got sleep last night and I am feeling good today so i want to take advanage of it!

Trish- I'd be so overwhelmed at 3 kids plus packing up a house plus husband out of town. I admire your strength.

Kate- have fun at the zoo. Do you live around Detroit? My friend grew up in a suburb and is a rabid Red Wings fan. It's so intense she cannot find anyone to go to hockey games here in St. Louis with her because she wears her Steve Yzerman (sp?) outfit and yells at local Blues fans.

Melanie- don't feel guilty about either working or taking a break. You need to do both.

It's been quite a week, but at least we're at the end. Both of my daughters woke up in the middle of the night with projectile puking and one of the girls split her tongue open this morning. THere's blood and puke all over the house.

I also discovered another weird growth on my arm so I need to go back to the dermo on Monday. The Good news- husband is no longer a wanted man. He skipped on jury duty (yes, even though his attorney wife told him he needed to go) and had to report for a summons to explain his absence. The jury supervisor and judge scolded him and put his name back in the jury pool for service in August. Also good- Gus, my 2.5 year old, is more or less potty trained. Still some accidents and still some wet pull ups, but overall is using the bathroom.

Good Morning everyone!

I never checked in yesterday b/c I had a headache and was just plain grouchyx( On a good note my brother called me last night from Iraq it was soooo good to hear from him!

Kate, the zoo sounds fun!

Jen, Happy Birthday! I'm glad you are ok from the fall.

Stephanie, Did you get to go to Target?

Kristan, I did the same thing with my last son, stocking up like crazy b/f he was born. I still have ziplock bags that I bought from Costco 4 yrs ago:)

Melanie, Do you have to work on the weekends?

I am off to workout b/f my kiddos wake up. I will check back later

Hi Trish, Susan and Maggie!

Candra

Hi everyone--just crazy busy around here. I have 2 more weeks to declutter/deep clean the house and then I really have to start with school planning for the next year (which I love to do, but not in the midst of chaos).

Kate--have fun at the zoo!

Trish--You do have a lot on your plate right now, especially pregnant and with your dh gone. (((hugs))) and prayers.

Kristan--blood and puke--no funx( . I always get excused from jury duty because I'm always nursing when they call me. I figure if they don't excuse me, I'll just show up with all 7 kids and call it a field trip. I'd love to serve at some point.

Candra--glad that you heard from your brother. Is he older or younger than you (just curious)

Hi everyone else!

Maggie:)

Kate - Have fun at the zoo! Walking will be great excercise!

Kristan - Ouch! How did she split her tongue? Puking is always fun clean up.

Trish - I give you tons of credit for being able to do all that you do. I hope the time flies from now until your DH gets back.

Maggie - You reminded me that I need to declutter and deep clean. Not one of my favorite things, but I love the results I must admit.

Hi everyone!!

Better get going. Got a lot of things to accomplish today and the kids are already ON today! Is it illegal to lock them up in separate cages, KIDDING!

Lisa

Good afternoon my rounded belly friends. Just a quick hello, I'm still here. :)

Just finished my 70 hr work week (including drive time) and now I begin my domestic chores (laundry). DH did all the dishes b/c our dishwasher broke. :( It seems like when it rains, it pours!!! DH will probably need to go on a trip and get another one (closest store is 2 hrs away). I cannot imagine having 3 boys and no dishwasher! Now, aren't we spoiled?!?!?

A good friend is going through an evil divorce & it's so hard not to get emotional about it. I shared with her that I"d be here for prayers, but I wouldn't be able to extend any energy & I get way too stressed out when I think about what they're doing to their precious kids. I hope she understands.

DH may need to go down to old house to mow (hasn't been mowed this season yet). We've been hiring people to come out but noone ever shows up! I suppose the grass is so high & noone wants to work so hard at it now. Urgh. I've tried to get him to take the dishwasher out of our old house, but he doesn't think that's a good idea. A new one is roughly 500-700 with installation.

I managed 3 w/o's this week! Yahoo. Turbo Jam yesterday & today. A nice change---but my back muscles are sore!! In a good way, of course.

Best get to my laundry piles. Chat soon.

Lisa--I've thought of installing a dog run type thingie for the little ones. Cages have passed through my mind as well and muzzles (and yes, I'm kidding too:p )

Melanie--we lived without a dishwasher for about 6 months and it was very difficult as we have a family of 8 and because I home school, everyone but dad is eating at home for every meal. It feels luxurious to have one now. Last summer I lived without a dryer, but that wasn't too bad, because I hung everything outside and saved a boatload on the electric bill. I'm sorry about your friend's divorce. A whole bunch of people in our extended families got married around the same time we did. Almost all of them are divorced and most have kids. It is tragic. I thank God all the time for my wonderful dh--the Lord keeps our marraige strong.

I'm taking a break from cleaning and making bread....sometimes things look worse before they look better.

It's quiet on the boards today! Must be really nice out everywhere. :)

I just did some mowing (love mowing), now I"m going to make some spagetti & meatballs for dinner.

Call me crazy, but I think I already have a little hump. How could that be at 8 weeks? I'm trying to suck in---but it doesn't go as flat as I'd like. I've gained 6lbs already too. I hope it's not going to be a 60lb pregnancy!!!!!! I don't think I've been eating any more than lately---but my exercises haven't been as consistent.

Maggie, wow 6 months w/o a dishwasher? That's pretty amazing. I thought the dishes were bad with 4 people at home all day. We actually got our first dishwasher about 18 months ago,...I hand did all our dishes for 15 years. Of course with more children it got harder and harder. We had a summmer w/o washer/dryer a few years bad. The laundry mat really sucks!

Enjoy the rest of your day. Chat later.

Kristan, sorry about the sick girls. Puking is the worst.

Maggie, my brother is 15 months younger than me. We used to tell everyone we were twins when we were growing up.

Melanie, glad your work week is over. I would definitely be getting a new dishwasher.

Kate, I hope you are having a good time at the zoo.

Trish, take it easy girl, you do have a lot going on right now.

I took the boys to Jiu-Jitsu this morning and then we came home and went swimming:) We are in the middle of a heatwave, it was 104 at 12pm. Right now I am babysitting my friends 5 week old son. I am having so much fun with him and so are the kids. My oldest is so much help.

Enjoy your Saturday:)

Trish, Packmax & Mowmax? You get the Energy award today!

Kristan, we're about 1.5 hours from Detroit and DH and I have ZERO interest in sports. We live near MSU campus so we're about the only ones who aren't sports crazy. So sory about the girsl - hope they're feeling better now. And YAY to Gus! We always threw our girls a "potty party" when they got out of diapers. (Just cake and family over) glad DH is in the clear! Good luck w/ the arm.

Candra, Sorry for the down day y'day. Glad bro is doing well. Good job getting your WO in! The swimming sounds great! This week is going to be hot for us - looking forward to some pool time too!

Maggie, LOL on jury duty field trip! I totally admire you an din complete awe of your homeschooling dedication. You're my hero!

Lisa, You mean you don't already keep them in cages?! Why not?!:+

Melanie, A lot going on at your place today! 3 WO's are better than NO WO's. Esp. considering your schedule - good for you!

-----

The zoo was tons of fun - the girls were golden. A long drive to and from combined with the walking makes me one tired mama! I rested for awhile when we got home and now I've just finished Classical Stretch. Looking forward to a cold shower and some peaceful sleeping!

Thanks for the nice comments girls. I do have a lot going on, but honestly it's keeping me sane I think. If I had nothing to do I'd be a sad mess since dh is gone. LOL I am just taking it one day at a time, but normally non pregnant I am a ball of energy and always have to keep busy so this is normal for me. I am going to go prop my feetsies up and crochet for a bit. I am working on an afgahan for the baby girl! I hope I can find a decent movie on.

Hi,
This will be a short one b/c I am hot and tired (and it's late). Today, we went to yard sales and to a birthday party. When we got back from the party, I took a 3-hour nap!!! I didn't have any energy all day. After the nap and supper, we went for a little walk and I did do P90X Shoulders and Arms with some modifications.

I seriously do not know what to do about potty training. I tried the naked way yesterday. I think I posted that DS was naked for most of morning, but I put on a diaper for errands. He didn't use the potty, by the way. When we got home, it was lunch and nap (so a diaper again), but he did sit on the potty and try.
After his nap, he was naked again except for his shirt. I reminded him to use the potty if he had to go, but he yelled "NO!". As my DH and I were finishing supper, DS came into the kitchen and said, "Pants on." I looked, and his shirt bottom was all wet. I told him to show me where he peed, and it was a puddle right in front of the TV. I didn't make a big deal about it, but I reminded him to use the potty, again..."NO!" Within 20 minutes, he had peed on the chair
}( !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My DH and I had a disagreement about the naked thing. By that time, it was time for his bath and bedtime. He tried to use the potty again, but nothing. Maybe I do need a book? Any recommendations? He is 3.3 years now, and only a bit of interest. I had hoped that he would become potty trained this summer...HELP!!!

Well, this is obviously not short...
Kate-I hope you had a good day at the zoo. That sounds like fun. How is Preggi Bellies?

Melanie-Yeah that your work week is over.

Kristan-How did you potty train Gus? And, at 2.5???

I will post more personals tomorrow. I need to get out of this hot room.

I didn't check last night's post, but did Morris post?

-Jen

Jen,
I really wouldn't worry about potty training. He won't go to kindergarden and be around all of his "school" friends with a diaper on. It's a control thing, he's gotta want to do it. You may have to wait another 6 months or so, after babe is here & things are more "settled".
I DO like the naked baby technique though, and have used it to augment our training. I hadn't realized it was so popular!!!!!!!!

Jen,
I will share with you how I potty trained my kids but it is what worked for me. My ds1 did the same thing your son is doing and would cry if I suggested underwear. He showed very little interest in ever using the potty. I had tried several times b/f finally I sat him down and told him we ran out of diapers. He was 3 yrs 2 mos at the time. From then on if we were home he was naked if we went somewhere he had to wear big boy underwear. I did put him in the nighttime pull-ups for naps and at night. I never put a diaper on him again. I used the same method w/ ds2 at 2 1/2 it worked great. I had a friend who did the same thing but when she went out her son wore underwear w/ a pull-up over, so he felt being wet but didn't make a big mess. It did take about 2 weeks for him to master going #2 on the potty, but I bought a lot of cheap underwear and threw them away if he had a #2 accident.

Like Melanie said on day your son will be potty trained. You worry about so much but as they get older you realize they do things at their own speed. So no worries:)
