TTC/Preg Check in June 10th

Cathlete
Good morning. I pushed my snooze button a couple of times, and now I won't get the full Strikezone in,...but 45 minutes or so.

It's raining here in MN. Forecast is rain until next Tuesday I heard. Urgh. I should have ran Sunday I guess (I don't run in rain). I fear for my moods too, I get crabby when I don't see the sun after 3 days or so. I heard my furnace just kick in!!!!

Candra, I actually made myself a protein shake today for work today. I haven't had on in a while, but I eat so much healthier when I plan my snacks. Today celery sticks & protein shake. Lunch is chicken breast salad. Yesterday was mushroom burger, jalopeno poppers and Mt Dew. :(

Check up with ya'll later!

Morning Melanie & everybody else!
Everybody feeling good today?
Maybe we'll hear from Morris?

Candra, My 6-yo. won’t nap very often either, but oh, how I love it when she does!
I have ate some deli meat (turkey) but now I probably won’t! I don’t use protein powder, pg or not. Always wanted to but never got around to trying the different kinds.

Stephanie, I don’t drink tea, simply because I don’t like the taste of it. My midwives get after me to drink it though! Oops! I’m great at water consumption! StrikeZone is a new Tracey Staehle kickbox workout

Jen, yay to summer vacation! Foot doctor - what a way to spend your day! I bet your son is happy to be home with you!

Lisa, Sorry about the cold/god/work! Bad day y’day for you! Hope today is better. ((hugs))

Nothing unusual for us today - errands, stop by the main office for a bit. Looking forward to a productive day!

Stephanie~lol at running if someone was chasing you. I am lucky in that running is my passion. I learned to love it and now I crave it and the high I get after a good run. Did you have c/s's with both your boys? I have had 3 and will have one this time as well. So far they have all gotten better/easier. I LIVE on tea. I don't drink a lot of water. I usually can only drink water right before/during/after a workout. I just don't like it otherwise. I drink a lot of iced tea and in the evening I have a hot tea.

Susan~did you change your user name? I though it was something else before. I can't get mine changed for some reason. Let us know what the dr. said. For me one pregnancy I was 10 weeks and had hte D&C and the other m/c I had I was early on and once I knew my #s were dropping it was almost a week before I really started bleeding. I hope you don't need a D&C.

KAte~ahh naps are always nice!! I hope to get one today. The last 2 days we were at the pool during nap time.

Candra~I do eat deli meat. I have with all my pregnancies. I am not a big meat eater at all so sometimes that is the only meat I eat. I will eat chicken and turkey so I usually get turkey breast and occasionally I'll have ham. I don't heat it up either. I never have had a protien shake ever. LOL

Hi Lisa and Jenn!

I am feeling great this morning. I went to bed early and slept really well so I am going to get my son on the bus and when the little guy wakes up we will go outside so I can get my run in. Another hot one today. bluck.

Trish, Glad you're feeling good - good sleep helps everything! Swimming today again? I NEED to tell DH to turn on his parents pool heater! Except its rainy and nasty today... oh well - good day for errands.

Hi girls!

Melanie-Sorry about the rain. I wish it would move down here. My poor roses are all dying from lack of rain (and my forgetting to water them... ooops).

Kate-Have fun errand running today. I think we will do the same. It's not going to be quite as hot today here.

Trish--I am jealous of your energy today!! Glad to hear you had a great night's sleep and are feeling good! You asked about the c-sections... I had a vaginal birth with my first son, but when I went in and was induced with my second son, she realized (after starting the petocin and breaking my water) that he was breech. So I had a c-section. I'm so glad you said that about the subsequent c-sections being easier. Was your recovery time quicker?

In addition to errands, I plan on trying to get caught up on my laundry. Yuck. I don't mind doing it, just hate folding it and putting it up. Oh well. Hope everyone has a great day!!

ETA: I went back and read yesterday's post and wanted to add:

Candra: Don't sweat the one turkey sandwich. I'm sure you're OK. As for the protein powder, I never drink protein shakes, instead, I used to be hooked on protein bars, and still sneak one from time to time. I often wonder if I'm getting enough protein too.

Lisa--Hope you're cold is better today!

Jen--I'm sorry you're friend is moving away! But, on the bright side, Chattanooga is a really great city. The downtown area is really wonderful. If you guys get a chance to visit, make sure you go when Thomas is in town at the railway station (usually in April or May, I think), and be sure to go to the Aquarium --it's amazing.

KAte~no swimming today. When we go swimming my dd doesn't get a nap so for the last 2 days she's not napped and so I think today we need to stay home and so she can nap and I can get some things done around here. It is also supposed to be afternoon thunderstorms here. maybe it'll cool things down some. It sure needs it.

Oh yes.. recovery was easier.. everything was easier. I was induced as well w/ my first and I also had PIH and so I was on mag sulfate and being induced.. it just was a bad bad delivery. After 24 hours of labor they did the c/s. I had complications w/ my incision healing and I also retain so much fluid w/ the PIH I could hardly walk for a week. Then slowly the fluid came off. It probably wouldn't have been so bad if I didn't have the PIH. With my dd I had a planned c/s so I went in refreshed and well rested. I got the spinal and had the c/s and I was up the next day walking around putting on make up getting a shower. I felt 10x better than after the first one. THen w/ Landon it was very similar. I would say I had a bit more pain w/ him, but still all in all it was nothing like the first c/s. I was back walking again at 4 weeks and running a short time after that. Both of the planned c/s's I healed very nice and had no compications w/ my incision or anything post delivery. Very minimal bleeding. I am nervous this time I will be at a different hosptial and have a different dr. since we will be moving, but I hope it will be just as great of an experience. Oh and just make sure to line up the help to have after the baby. I am so fortunate that my mom and dad have came up for each of my children so they stayed a good 7-10 days. My dh is great, but just not very helpful w/ the newborn baby stuff. He helps a lot w/ the other kids and then my mom was able to help me w/ the baby and doing some cleaning and stuff like that.

Disappointed with Strikezone, I barely even broke a sweat. :( It's going on eBay. What did you think Candra?

Stephanie, Laundry is one chore I don't mind! Just don't ask me to clean the bathrooms! YUCK!

trish, Hope you have a nice day - can you catch a nap too?

melanie, Sorry about SZ! Mine is shipping today - I hope I like it! Are there any good premixes on it?

Errands were great! Got lots done. Time for lucnh and a nap!:7

Hi everyone!

Melanie, my arms are so sore today from doing PUB yesterday so I am going to wait until Thurs. to do Strikezone. I did preview it yesterday and I was worried about intensity but everything looks easier when you are sitting on the couch;) I didn't like the breaks in between each segment. Did you use weighted gloves? I really like Tracey's last kickboxing but I have to use weighted gloves if I want to get a good workout.

Lisa, don't tell me that about soft serve. Is it the same for frozen yogurt too? I eat that all the time. I am hoping to take the boys to see Kung Fu Panda this week.

Jen, exciting that work is done. I already feel like the summer is going by too fast. When do you start back to school. My kids go back the middle of Aug.

Mikkia, sorry about the morning sickness. This pregnancy was the worst for me but it does go away even though it doesn't seem that way. Have you tried sea bands? Those made things a little better for me.

Stephanie, thanks for making me feel better about eating turkey yesterday:) I worry about everything. Last week I was worried about lockjaw b/c I stepped on a nail and my doctor doesn't reccomend getting a tetnasus shot while pg. But it's been a week and no symptoms so I think I am free and clear on that one. I hear you on hating laundry it never ends.

Trish, good job on all the running. I really miss running right now but it was getting too uncomfortable for me. I am going to go get on my elliptical this morning. How's it going with your dh being gone?

Kate, sounds like we will be doing the same thing today. A lot of running around but it is really hot here today suppose to get up to 97.

Maggie, my little sister used to live in Eugene. She always went to Portland to go shopping. She lives in Washington now.

I better go feed the kids and workout so I can start the day. I will check back later!

Candra

Trish-I know what you mean about worrying about a new hospital. My two sons were delivered by my old Ob in Alabama, and I LOVED her and that hospital. I'm very nervous about this c/s because I don't know the hospital or the docs very well. But you put me at ease with what you wrote about the recovery. DH is supposed to take a full week off of work, and my mom wants to come stay with us, but it's just too crowded (we live in a small house), so I told her to just come during the day a few days a week for the first couple of weeks (she lives pretty nearby). I'm just a bit worried because my oldest will have just started first grade before the baby comes, and I don't want it to mess with his schedule.

Melanie - Sorry about the disappointing workout. I hate when that happens. It's so anticlimatic!

Trish - What is PIH? I didn't realize you've had previous m/c's also. I had one before this pg and it made me so much more paranoid with this pg in the early stages.

Candra - I didn't know about the soft serve either until recently. I think as long as they use pasteurized milk it's okay. I think B&R claims their soft serve is pasteurized. I don't know about other places though.

Stephanie - How far along are you?

Kate - Do you have any fun plans for summer with your dds? I'm trying to figure out different ways to keep my kids busy and active.

I hope Morris is enjoying her newborn right now!

I'm up early and was hoping to get a workout in before I have to leave for work. I had this weird dream last night about being at a beach wearing a bikini with a non-pg body and then in my dream, I was like, wait a minute, I can't sunbathe on my back or belly and boom! my pg belly appeared! It was really weird. I also need more maternity clothes. I think I have to retire my low waisted jeans soon.x(

Lisa

Lisa~ PIH is pregnancy induce hypertension. For me it came on suddenly in my 39th week.. then at my 40 week check up they decided to do stress tests every 3 days and see me 2x a week instead of once a week. Well I was supposed to go Monday again and on Sunday night I had a headache so bad and was seeing the blurry spots, pitting edema, all the classic signs so my MIL (who is a nurse) told my DH to get his butt home and take me to the hospital. My bp was 166/115. They kept me and induced me. I didn't want to go because I didn't want to be the one that went in like 100 times before the baby came thinking I ws in labor or whatever, but I didn't realize how serious it was. Very scary. Anyway, all my pregnancies since then my blood pressure has been 100/60 and even lower sometimes. No idea why it was like that the first time. Just a fluke thing I guess. I nursed my son for a year and when I quit in Dec. 02 we started TTC again and I got preg. right away, but found out at right about 10 weeks that the baby died at 6 weeks and so we had to have a D&C.. then fast forward 6 weeeks I got a pos. test and it was easter weekend. I had to wait till Monday to get a blood test. Well Monday my home test was lighter than the previous one and my bloodwork showed my levels very low.. I started spotting on Thursday. I would say that would be a chemical pregnancy. Then it was 8 more cycles before I got preg. w/ my DD. After all that (12 months TTC my first son) I got preg. 1 time DTD w/ my 2nd son and this one was 1 time DTD 5 days before I ovulated. It's really strange how things work out like that sometimes. I just firmly believe that all things are ment to be and in the end they come together to form the bigger picture of what our lives are supposed to be. I was devistated about my first m/c because I was so naive I just took for granted that I got preg. and it would be okay. Then once I had my DD I realized that if I had not m/c'd then I would never have had her. I can't imange not having her. Anyway that is my ttc story. LOL

Stephanie~wow so you'll have a new dr. too. I am so nervous about that. Also I'll be at a military hosptial and I have zero experience w/ that either. I imagine it's all pretty similar so I am trying not to get to worked up about it, but I am a planner and I am a creature of habit.. lol I like things to just be the same as they always were.

Lisa, your dream this too funny. Eck!!!

I too will have a new dr, new hospital, new clinic, etcetra. My ob/byn was wonderful that delivered my last two. She will be missed.

I"m trying to eat healthy today. I even brought a smoothie to work. :)
Yummy.

I read through the last couple of days, but I don't have time for personals now. I look forward to hearing from Morris.

My stats
Name-Maggie, short for Magdalen
Married to Dh for 15 years (but we've been together for 18:* )
Children: 6+the wee one--Gabriel,13; Rhiannon,11; Isabella,9; Malcolm,6; Bardric,4; Evangeline 2 1/2.
Due Date: August 18
Location: Portland, Oregon although I can also be found on the Brink of Insanity:p
Occupation: Home School Mom and defective Homemaker.

Yesterday, half of our huge cherry tree fell down into our yard. It just cracked right down the middle. It is by God's grace alone that no one was out there playing, because serious injury or death may have been the result. I guess video games do have a purpose. Ugh--just one more thing to deal with and when the tree comes all the way down, we will have much reduces privacy from our neighbors, whose upstairs windows stare right into our back yard. Oh well, at least no one was hurt.

I'll try to check in again later and catch up.

Take care, Ladies:7

Hey Ladies,
My dr appt went well. Since my #'s didnt get real high I should not need a d/c. She has stocked me up with prog gel to start taking the day before Im supposed to start my period just in case.
Trish, no I have not changed my name since I have been on this board.
Melanie, thanks for the Strikezone review...I had it in my cart at collage but quickly removed it!
DD and I are about to hit the pool. Hope everyone is having a nice day.
Susan

My husband & I have been married 17 years!!!! Anyone have that beat?!?!? ....I"m just so darn competitive. Maggie has me beat on offspring. ;)

Candra, Hope you enjoy your day!

Stephanie, I'm in a new place too, but it's a birth center instead of a hospital so I'm really excited about it! Every appt I go to I'm in the room I'll deliver in. Very nice. It looks like an elegant hotel room!

Lisa, Fun plans? I wish! So far we're taking it day to day but I need to get my act together and plan some things. We have our annual family trip in July to Traverse City but that's about it. Oh, and RT for me!!! yahoooooo!!! Funny dream! I've bought enough mat. clothes to share with everyone on this board!! Good thing I have a nice DH!!

Trish, Great attitude on your mc's. (((hugs)) I've never been thru that, thankfully.

Maggie, LOL at defective homemaker! I feel like one today too! Sorry about the tree! Did bad weather bring it on or just rot?

Susan, We'll continue to keep our fingers crossed for you that you won't need the d&c. (((hugs)))

Melanie, DH & I will be married for 9 years in July. Our first date was when I was 15!! I'm 28 now so 13 years together - almost half my life! I would LOCK UP my teenage sisters if they told me they were engaged! LOL!

Our day is going well - not terribly productive this afternoon but oh well.

Maggie- You have everyone beat on offspring! :) You totally amaze me! AND you homeschool them all??? Are you human? :) I'm really glad to hear that the tree didn't hurt anyone.

Lisa-I'm 23 weeks today (due Oct. 9). Though I look about 30 weeks (no joke).

Trish-Sounds like we're a lot alike when it comes to being creatures of habit and also in the belief that all things happen for a reason. That was a really beautiful way of explaining your miscarriage.

Susan- I'm glad the doc's appointment went well and you don't have to have the d/c. I hope that you and your DD have fun at the pool!!

Melanie-You've got me beat on years married. I've been married 10 years.

----
Just got back from terribly impulsive trip to SuperTarget (i.e. Mecca). I bought the boys both a goodie (hotwheels for Henry and Pokemon trading cards for Oliver) AND i bought them a Thomas movie to watch on rainy days. DH is not going to be too happy with me. Oh well. Their organic strawberries also were on sale, so I stocked up.

Now I've got to eat lunch --or should I call it linner, since it's already almost 3:30. Yikes.
Hope everyone is having a great day!!

Hi everyone, I am just getting to the computer today. The nausea is slightly better today, I actually held down some soup. It's so hot here today, I think we may try the pool later. I am looking forward to my dr appt tomorrow for sure and an US.
Melanie-sorry to here strikezone was no good, I will be getting that one soon, I think I'll send it back. a smoothie at work also sounded like heaven. i was eating stale saltines, YUM!
Trish-I really enjoyed your story and how positive you are!
Susan-I am still thinking of you and hope you finally get some peace.
Stephaine-Target is the most dangerous place on earth. My husband hates it when i go there. I also find myself stocking up!
Maggie-I think I may have run into you at The Brink of Insanity a few times. You are sure to be one busy girl. did you have a storm that brought the tree down?
Lisa-your dream is too funny!
Candra-I ate my weight in soft serve ice cream with dd, and I ate my weight in deli smoked turkey with ds and they both came out ok(I think). I also ate a ton of feta cheese, I guess that is a no no too.
Kate-How are your girls today? I hope you are feeling good.
