It's COLD here this AM---in the 50s!!!!!!!!! My furnace just kicked on, so I went around and shut the windows. It should make it up to mid60s today & tomorrow---what a cold summer we're having!

Kristan~Do you pump milk BEFORE you deliver? Wow. I never have milk---or at least have never tried that before!

Kate & Mikkia~ How did dentist appts go?

Morris~ So nice to hear from you. It's hard to believe your 4 weeks out already---and running so much. When did you begin running? Great job on the weight loss & getting into your clothes. I was only able to do that w/1 of my pregnancies (get into prepg clothes so quick). I miss you!

Stephanie~Good job staying in the swing of working out. At this point we're trying to maintain & keep our w/o habit going. No gains here (except with the scale). :D :D Thanks for the comments on house, this is our dream home & we feel so fortunate to have found it. It's a loghome--nestled into a couple acres of thick woods---along Wabonica Bay which flows into both the Lake of the Woods & Ranier River (which are famous for gigantic walleye). I LOVE Walleye! I"m pretty laid back about the spa day thing---do whatever feels good---it's not until late 3rd trimester that you need to worry about contractions and what not from massage---and if you do get any contractions just skip that portion of the spa day. ;)

Candra~ 3500 sq feet is massive as well. We were looking for that size when we stumbled on this one. It's so nice for the kids in our long winter---we have a game room downstairs (and a fitness room) where the boys can ride their bikes! They could barely walk in our old house. Ahhh, it was definitely time for a move, too bad we couldn't sell our old house though. There's no connection b/w collateral of the two houses though---so if we lose the other it doesn't affect this one. Whew. Our dentist bills aren't that much either---and we take the kids to a pediatric dentist specialist b/c Justin has such soft teeth!

Well, best get on my elliptical. It's been 2 days since I worked out and cardio coach is calling me, " I'll be right there Sean!"....

BBL!

Melanie, Dentist went great thanks for asking! Gina(6) will need to go to an orthodontist in about a year. She's sucked her thumb so much it's changed her whole palate and we need to do some corrective stuff pre-braces. Mike and I have never had any dental work done and have white, straight, perfect teeth so this is a bit odd for us. Isabel has a nice gappy smile so she should not need braces. Whew! Gina's mouth is gonna break us! LOL! Have fun on the elliptical!

Not sure what my WO will be today. Either B&G or some cardio - depends how I'm feeling tonight. I won't be able to WO until after the kids go to bed.

Some errands this morning for us and I'm going to the attorney this afternoon for some issues with the business. Looking forward to a nice day! Better go get breakfast started!

Hi all. Feeling great today. I felt great yesterday too, Maybe, just maybe the dreaded icky feeling is passing! I am 11 weeks so I hope. I did not nap yesterday or throw up. I worked out, although I did TaeBo, which I barely count anymore (though it kicked my butt yesterday:).
Dentist was fun, and we go back today for Stephen's sealants. Hopefully no crying, as dd did well.
Melanie-your home sounds beautiful. So nice and nestled in! We live in the complete opposite. We live in the hill country on a couple acres. We have a working cattle ranch behind our property so it looks like we live out in the middle of no where. There aren't many trees out here! And it is hot and dry most of the time. We have so much wild life (including a wild boar, whom I would shoot if given the chance)he is a nasty beast. The kids get a kick out of it. Yesterday we had a bunch of wild turkeys in the back yard they were chasing around. It was funny.
Kate-Sounds like you and I will be logging many hours at the orthodontist. DD has too big of teeth for her mouth, so she is going to go see if this can be solved with pulling teeth or braces or both. YIKES.
I am off to work, and I think I am going to attempt low max this pm.

Mikkia, I'm glad you're feeling good. Which Tae Bo did you do? We also have lots of wild life, many deer, an occasional bear, geese, loons, raccoons, squirrels, mink,... It does sound different from your place---but we're both definitely rural!!

Kate, I did cardio coach #4 today,...my favorite so far. :) Our oldest had braces for a little over a year. We told Justin he can't have braces b/c he's already cost us thousands with his soft teeth. ;)

Super tired again today, despite the fact I went to bed at 8pm last night!!! Probably no workout tomorrow to try to make it thru the week. ;) Gotta go!

Hi ladies!! I am SO happy for Kristan! What a beautiful baby!!

Melanie--Thanks for the info about the spa. I feel better about it now. I am SO jealous of your cool weather. It's going to be in the 90s again here today --Yuck!!

Kate--Glad the dentist appointment went well. My Henry is going to have to have some orthodontic work done too eventually because of his pacifier obsession, which lasted 3 years.

Mikkia--Glad you are feeling better!! Taebo absolutely counts!!

------
So I had to skip my workout yesterday. I had a first-trimesterish afternoon with nausea and bad fatigue, so I took a nap instead with Henry while Oliver watched cartoons. I'm hoping to get a good workout in today to make up for yesterday. Today I also have to take my dog to the vet because I noticed yesterday her face was swollen and she kept shaking her head, and when I looked in her ear it was all red with puss and nasty looking. Poor thing. I've been giving her kid's benadryl and will take her today to see what's up. I hope she didn't get bitten by some weird bug at my in-laws' house (which is in the mountains). They have a lot of little scorpions there, so I am wondering. We'll see.

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful day!! :)

Mikkia, Glad you're getting some good days! Start saving now for those ortho bills! I am dreading it, but of course we will do it for her. I always feel terrible for people with bad teeth.

Mikkia & Melanie, Nature girls! WoW! We used to have a lot of wild animals but our dog has scared them all off! The deer won't use the salt licks we set out.

Melanie Good luck getting thru the day/week. Take a nap when you can!

Stephanie, I was so sure that I would never give a pacifier becasue of dental work issues! HA!!! Never knew thumb-sucking could be so expensive too! I always thought she would have it broken by now. Fat chance. Sorry for the sleepy day y'day and the dog. How's he doing today?

-----
Well, I'm off for our nap now. First we'll read a chapter or 2 of Little House on the Prairie. We're about halfway thru and trying to get done before we leave for vacation Saturday. I don't want to lose a library book on vacatioN! Three days after we get back from family vacation I leave for RT!!!! I'm so excited for this month!

No naps here with 14hr days. :( Just energized myself with a Hardees mushroom & swiss combo meal. :D :D

I DID go to bed at 8 last night though!!!!

Hi girls! I woke up late this morning so I had to workout right away and then take the boys to gymnastics. We went to the grocery store afterwards to get stuff to bake a cake for dh, today is his birthday. It is really hot here 104 is what the temp in my car read. Still no swimming today b/c of Wilson's ear:-(

Kate, I have never had any dental problems either no cavities no braces. Wilson had one small cavity but other than that his teeth are great. Owen on the other hand has cost a fortune in dental work. It started when he was 18mos and his last appt was the first to have no cavities. He was 3 at the time. I think he has 6 teeth that are capped.

Mikkia, getting any workout in during the first trimester counts:)

Stephanie, I wouldn't worry about going to the spa. I get a pedicure every two weeks. Never had any problems.

Melanie, how do you like cardio coach? I only use itrains, but I have been interested in getting a few cc's b/c of all the talk about them on open discussion. I really like the itrains though.

Hi both Jen's, Maggie, Susan and Lisa!
Kristan your baby is beautiful!!

Candra

Candra, my Justin was also about 18 mos old when he needed to be put under for 2 root canals, fillings and 2 caps on his two front teeth. He lost one of his caps about a year ago & has been toothless since. He looks like a bruiser! Pedicure every 2 weeks?!?!? Boy you're high maintanence, girl!!!!!! :) :D I like Cardio Coach, never tried iTrains...

Hi everyone--been crazy busy again.

No workout today, because the kids and I stacked 1 1/2 cord of wood in 1 1/2 hours. We still have 1/2 a cord to go and we aren't sure where to put it. Dh will have to figure that out.

Yesterday, I wrote up Malcolm's preliminary IEP and after I get done posting, I plan to start typing it up. I also started summer school with the girls and they aren't giving me any groans or sighs about it because it is so light. I think they enjoy having a bit more structure to their day--it seems to reduce the petty bickering.

Melanie--your dream home sounds absolutely idyllic! I think I'd be in heaven there. I'm glad to hear whatever happens to your old home won't effect this one.

Kate--I guess we aren't the only ones with dental woes. Our son with downs is turning out to be very complicated in that arena--his teeth are worn down by grinding, he has cavities and major oral sensory issues making a simple trip to the dentist a really big deal. He also has a pretty severe underbite and I can't imagine what that will cost. Anyway--I'm glad you are able to get her needs taken care of--what a blessing.

Mikkia--glad you feeling better--that first trimester is winding down. Tae bo counts. You should see my pitiful workouts. Your home sounds like it's in a beautiful setting as well.

++++++
This post interrupted by an irrational 2 year old, who is melting down because her sister turned on the bathroom light for her and she wanted me to do it.
++++++

Stephanie--go to the spa and enjoy it, I say--sounds nice to be pampered. Sorry about your dog--ouch!

ETA--Candra--we must have posted at the same time. I hope your son's ear gets better soon. Wow it's hot where you are. We are having a very moderate summer, which I appreciate. Happy birthday to your dh!

Hi everyone else!

Maggie:)
34 weeks, 1 day

Hi ladies!

Candra--Hope your little one's ear is better soon!

Maggie--I think wood stacking counts as a workout!! I can't believe you're already 34 weeks! Not long now!!

---

Well, I took Maggie (my dog) to the vet, and she had a double ear infection/staph infection and required sedation to be treated. It cost almost $300 and I have to take her back next week for a recheck and her vaccinations. Yikes!! Looks like I'll be passing on the pedicure after all. :( I asked if her staph infection could be spread to me/baby or the boys, and he assured me it couldn't --unless it's MRSA, which is extremely rare, so I'm praying hard that it's not that! I'll find out when the cultures come back. Sure wish Morris was checking in and could weigh in on this. I'm just a worrywart.

Anyway, no workout today. After the marathon vet visit I decided to give Maggie a bath and I'm pooped.

Hope you all are having a good evening! :)

Steph, pets can be so expensive!!!! You've had such a stressful pregnancy! Hang in there, and there is nothing to worry about unless there is something to worry about. :)
Tomorrow is another day for a w/o....we'll let you pass today. :) :D

Hi,
This week is a killer due to my class. Note to self...Week-long grad classed absolutely suck!!! At least it's the only one I have to take in this program. I have a presentation tomorrow and two other assignements due on Friday. I did manage to take a 50 minute walk with my mom tonight, though. It's so hot here, so I wish I lived where Melanie does! Melanie, I will trade you! DS has a meltdown tonight at Costco, and still has no interest in going potty:-( . I put him to bed early, and he passed right now so he must have been tired. I have to take him to the dentist next Monday for the first time-I'm sure it will be a fun time}( .

Kate, I sucked my thumb till I was about 5 (I'm embarrassed to admit), but I have perfectly straight teeth. My sister and brother never sucked their thumb, and they needed braces (go figure).

Morris-Great to hear from you.

Stephanie-I am so sorry to hear about your dog and vet bill (yikes). Sometimes we spend more on pet medical care that we do on our own.

Maggie-I am impressed that you write your son's IEP. Do you have it reviewed by someone in the local school district? I had no idea that that becomes the responsibility of parents who homeschool. I am just curious...do you have the option of having the IEP prepared by the special education coordinator or a teacher in your local district? You obviously know what you are doing, but it would be scary if someone who had no clue had to write an IEP (I don't even want to think about it). I want to see if the same thing applies here in PA. You've piqued my curiosity.

Hello Candra! Hi Mikkia! Hi Trish! Hi Susan!
-Jen

Hi ladies! Sorry I've been MIA, but houseguests are still here and work is really busy. I'm actually at work right now taking a break to check-in and see how everyone is doing. I'll be around more after this week when everyone is scheduled to leave. I'm exhausted to say the least, but I've been trying to keep up with the workouts. I did B&G leg blasts, GS BSB, and walking within the last few days. Baby is getting bigger each day. I swear my belly popped even more the last couple weeks. I'm 23 weeks 1 day as of today. Anyway, sorry for the lack of personals, but I'm hoping to be better at posting in a week.

Lisa

It's late and I'm tired, so here she goes, real quick!

Candra, Happy Bday to DH! And SIX CAPS for DS!! WOW! Poor baby!

Melanie, Your poor baby too!

Maggie, WoodMax sounds like a great WO to me! Sorry about your DS dental woes too! I guess Gina's are nothing to complain about! LOL on the interrupted post!

Stephanie, Poor pup! And I skipped my WO today too! Woopsie!

Jen, Goo dluck with the rest of the week. Sorry about Costco!!

Lisa, Houseguests going good? ^5 on getting WO's done with company around - not easy. yay to the belly popping! 2nd tri is almost over!!!

Howdy! Since it's almost 1am and I am having trouble sleeping I thought I'd check in.. ahh what is up w/ this insomnia all the sudden??

Melanie~yikes that is cold! Goodness. It's so hot and humid here. I am so jealous w/ your elliptical talk!

Mikkia~that is good news you are feeling better. Second trimester will be here before you now it!

Stephanie~could your dog have gotten stung by a bee? My neighbors dog had this happen and the poor things snout was so swollen.. Okay just read that it was an infection.. poor doggie. : (

MAggie~I am soooo SO laughing about your 2 year old and the light thing. Glad I am not alone.. man my little guy can meltdown over nothing.. just because he wanted it one way and it happened another way. So funny!

Hi JEn hi Lisa!

Well I am happy to report that Landon is potty trained. I am shocked but thrilled. He had 1 poopy accident on Friday at my DHs aunts.. my mil gave him 2 juice boxes.. (he always gets 1/4 juice and 3/4 water.. never straight juice. Well after I learned about that.. he went around the side of the house and he had a very looose bm.. poor thing was so upset, but I think the juice just went through him.. no accidents since then. He even peed at Walmart today and I had to push his "peepee" down so he didn't pee straight out on me.. well he annoucned really loud.. " you touched my penis" I am sure the lady in the next stall got a laugh out of that one. LOL I need to teach him to do that.

I got a 4 mile walk in this morning and a 4 mile run this evening. I got lots done today too. It feels good to be busy and productive.. wonder how long it'll last though before I crash.. thankfully my mom and dad will be here next week so they can help watch the kiddos while I pack more. Anyway.. guess I should try to get to bed. Night!
