TTC/Preg Check in July 22nd

Hello ladies. Guess what? I"m up and ready to workout. I've decided to do a Turbo Jam Cardio Party 2 today. Something spunky & not so tough b/c I feel out of shape with all my days off! Gotta beat this body back into shape soon,...have to watch my figure, you know. ;)

Almost everyone is accounted for except: Morris, Anne? Anyone else? It's so confusing with new screennames & lack of signatures and stuff.

I LOVE Stephanie's Aviator picture. Adorable. Mine finally showed up.

Work announcement went well. Kind of fun, although I don't really like to draw attention to myself. I'd prefer to tell someone with a big mouth & let them shine telling others. Mixed bag of responses. Some people seem geniuinely happy, other seem almost annoyed, others indifferent. Strange.

I'm getting more excited about the prospect of having a "baby's room" & picking out a crib and car seat. I think that's all we need.

What themes are ya'll going with? We won't find out sex of our baby---so it needs to be gender neutral.

Kate~ Are you going on another trip?
Mikkia~Still enjoying the greatness of 2nd trimester? Energetic and all?
Anne~Any new news? Another round this month?
Trish~ Glad to see you yesterday. Still super hot there? You sound so incredibly busy!
Candra~Enjoying a day at the pool today?
Susan~What workouts are you doing?
Jen#1~ Anymore classes scheduled?
Jen#2~Life slow down a bit? Are you beginning to get some energy back? When's your next drs appt?
Lisa~ You seem so busy too! Ha. Glad you're enjoying your summer
Maggie~ My redheaded friend. Ha Ha I imagined you with dark hair for some reason. I totally play the roll of my redhair too. It's so funny the responses you get from people just by the color of your hair! Do any of your kids have red hair? Your neighborhood sounds so rough! Here I thought OR was a calm place

Well, best get to that workout. Chat later!

Stephanie, Well, you're a whole lot craftier than I am for sure! Scrapbooking is tons of fun but man, does it get expensive! I could open my own store! And eating clean TOTALLY counts!

Mikki, You got your avatar up! Everybody's looks great! I want to jazz my stuff up too but I din't want to spend the time on it on a temporoary username.

Melanie, Glad the announcing is goign well. As far as themes, we're doing soemthing with hot pink, just not sure what yet. We got a new car seat too. I really want a bumbleride stroller but it's $320 - yikes!

Baby was moving like crazy last night. It scared DH one time when he had his hand on my belly. He jumped up about a foot and shouted "what was THAT?!" It was so funny. I was laughing so hard! She must've swished an elbow or knee or something across. Too funny!

Have a great AM!

Melanie, I'm not sure how to edit but I meant to say good job on getting your WO in!

I did POwer Hour UB last night. Tonight I'll do L&G.

Morning!

Melanie~glad the announcement went well. Great job on getting up and doing that workout.

Kate~lol at DH freaking out. It still freaks me out when I see elbows or knees.. sotra looks odd.

Well we found out we are going to Ft. Polk, LA I am so bummed. I guess I'll get over it, but dang it's hot there and it's 18 hours from here. I have no idea how I can drive that far. Just going 6 hours to my grandparents left be SO swollen for days. I coudln't even see my ankles. It finally went down 2 days after we got home. argh.

Good morning ladies :)
My energy is so so - thanks for asking. No workout yesterday becuase I work long shifts and had to feed the kids and husband. We did swim at the pool for a while tho, so i guess that counts. Lately i feel so out of shape and just yucky. Bloated too. I have to get over this body image stuff and just focus on being healthy for my baby :) I feel huge and im not even showing! lol.i think its all the crap food we've been eating while traveling and having three kids in the home.

No workout today either probably or tomorrow. DH works tomorrow nite so maybe i'll put the kids to bed and do an hour workout becuase we hit the road thursday morning. and i wont be back until very late sunday nite, so its pretty much another exercise-less week...sigh...my routine has been so disrupted this month! Guess i should get used to it though :)

I hope everyone is doing well today, i'll be checking in and out..

Oh, my next appointment is Aug 15, my husband's bday. Its to check for downs and 2 other things i've never heard of. DO they do an ultrasound with that again?? I'd like my DH to see the baby this time...

oh..i have a question for all you ladies. I hope someone can help me out here. I think i'll be safe rather than sorry, but wanted to ask..

I was reading that deli meat and hot dogs are not safe in pregnancies due to listeria and other bacteria.

i bought ham and cheese and turkey and cheese LUNCHABLES for the road trip to give the kids as snacks. Are these safe for me or should i not eat it? Also, is the cheese and crackers safe in the same package or are they contaminated?

Thanks in advance!

Good Morning!
Melanie-Hope you enjoyed your workout. I am been wanting to try some TJ's. Your av is sooo cute! Only w/o I have been doing is walking on the TM. I go to dr tomorrow so hopefully I will be cleared for more.

Kate-have a great day. Enjoy your workout!

Trish-we missed you!! 18 is far away!! Sorry its not where you wanted to move. You never know though, you might really like it! When is moving day?
Jen#2-hope your energy picks up! You'll be able to start back working out next week, so hang in there!

Ok, on the reproductive front-last week, I think on Tuesday when I *thought* AF had arrived. Well, I did indeed spot but that was it. I have done that before I started before so I have been waiting for af to arrive. Anyway, nothing yet. My breasts are still SO sore and last night I woke up with sharp pains in the left one! Whats up with that??? I am just assuming my body is re-adjusting etc. Will keep you posted.

No big plans for today. Hopefully after tomorrow I can drive again. There isnt much to do here, but at least we could go to WM during the day.

Hi Maggie, Stephanie, Candra, Jen, Mikki, Anne, Morris, Kristin

Susan

Melanie- i forgot you asked about themes.
I dont know just yet. I want to find out the sex but my husband wants to be suprised..so right now i'm thinking of gender nuetral things. I really like winnie the pooh, i saw a nice classic nursery set with EVERYTHING for $550. Is that a lot? Comes with curtains, 15 stuffed pooh animals, soft books, a mobile, lamp, 4 peice bedding set, hamper, wall hangings and various other things, a shelf for each letter of the alphabet, each one having characters on it, wallpaper borders, soft rattles, garbage can, two diaper bags, one smaller with bottles, receiving blankets, plush throw, blankets, a mobile, diaper stacker, more wall hangings, etc...its all brand new in the package. is that overpriced or is that reasonable? She paid 1100 for it originally..

wow..that was a tangent!! lol

or i was thinking noah's ark or something cutesy. I did see two cute nursery sets online at target one has the cutest little frog and the other has a cute safari pattern. they looked more for boys though but its gender neutral

Well, when you wake up with insomnia at 5 in the am, you might as well just get up.

Last night dd 11 showed me pinkish/red pee after she'd used the bathroom (TMI?--nah--not on this check-in). Mystified, I concluded that she must have started her period. She's been crampy and moody lately, although 11 seems a bit on the young side. We've had the talk several times, but I reviewed some things about what to expect, etc. Then right before bed, she tells me, "I ate 3 beets at Grandma's house." Beets...pink pee..... Hmmmmm...I don't think my little girl has entered womanhood quite yet.

Drug dealing neighbors went back to being quiet last night. Yessssss.......

How are you getting the smileys into your text? I haven't figured that out yet. I feel impaired without the smileys. I want the "devil" smiley back.

Okay--on to personals:

Lisa--I wish I would go at any time. I've never been early, although I am seriously considering an early induction as we are having child care issues for my due date week. I will ask at bible study whether someone could help my MIL watch the 3 little toadies--they are quite a handful without an older sibling to help.

Kate--I have pics up on my profile page, so just go there to see. I've gone ahead and made them public, so you don't have to go through the whole friend rigamarole, which seems complicated to me.

Stephanie--I can't wait to start eating better and exercising more too. It's just so much easier to eat well, when I don't have these "hungry" hormones coursing through my body. The son in your avatar is adorable. Which one is he?

JenM--for my first three pregnancies, I ate everything, blissfully unaware of any danger. Once I learned things could be dangerous, I became much more careful. I think the chances of listeria are pretty rare, but I'm a worrywort, so....

Trish--you are back! We were getting a bit worried. You sound like you've been swamped. Louisiana does sound hot and muggy. I'll be praying about the logistics of your move. (((hugs)))

Mikkia--good job on the clean eating. I've been a pig the last few days. Your avatar is up fine.

Melanie--so a mixed bag at work but all in all it sounds like it went well? Yes, people do make assumptions about red hair, although in my case they are often true (I'm quirky, passionate, hot-tempered, and a little geeky, but not a slut (insert silly smiley here)).
No nursery here--our babies just sleep in our bed for an indefinite period of time, but have fun with the planning. Our street isn't really rough--just these neighbors and they aren't so bad as drug dealers go. We don't think it's a mistake that the Lord moved them right next to us.

Susan--I'll bet you are looking forward to the freedom of driving again. Keep us posted on the reproductive front. I'm praying for you.

Hi Candra! Hi Anne! Hi Morris! Hi Kristan! Hi Jen!

take care all
Maggie
36 weeks, 1 day

Jen~personally for me I would eat them. I have never really worried about that. now the raw fish I wouldn't do. I think you are referring to the nuchal scan at about 13 weeks? They measure the back of the baby's neck and can screen for a few things. It is an u/s and bloodwork and from what I gather it's pretty accurate.

Maggie~ WOW 11 would be young, but I think that is starting to be the more normal thing now. Girls are getting it younger and younger. I never knew beets make you pee change color. I don't like them so I have never found out. lol

Susan~it wouldn't hurt to get a test to check if you are preg. The breasts and pains sound like it could be something.

Well I got 4 miles in this morning. We are showing the house again today to someone that looked at it already.. so I am hopeful we can get it sold. I hope to get a good walk and some weights this afternoon. I slacked while at my grandparnets and while my parenst were here. I did workout every day, but some days was just a power walk and no running.

Maggie-what a cute story about your dd!! 11 is young, but I was a late bloomer..I was nearly 15 when I sarted! My mom was 16!

Trish-Glad you got a good workout in! I actually took a preg test on Saturday. I knew there was no way, but all these symptoms had me wondering. I really think my body is just taking its own sweet time getting back to normal. 2 weeks ago I was still testing positive and that was 5 weeks after I miscarried. Before my surgery on the 3rd dr's almost called it off because my levels were 08 (5 weeks preg according to them) but they called my obgyn and got the scoop. Sorry for the book I just wrote!

I walked 30 min the TM so that felt good!
SUsan

Dr just called..had to cancel all appointments for tomorrow....I dont go til Friday now....ratssss!!

Hi guys!!
Well, I got up early and was inspired by DH who went jogging and I fully planned to get up and workout, but instead, I laid in bed and watched the news. I'll definitely get a workout in today. I also have to do cleanmax!!

Melanie--Glad that you got a workout in!! I'm jealous! I am also glad telling the coworkers went pretty well. I think that now that it's out, you'll start really getting excited about it more. I didn't really get giddy about this baby until after week 11 when we told everyone and I felt it was "safe" to be excited. As for nursery themes, when we moved into our home, one of the rooms was decorated in Peter Rabbit. The couple before us had a little girl, but the top of the walls are a buttery beige color with a very light plaid buttery beige wallpaper on the bottom and a beautiful border around the middle of the walls with a picture of the mother rabbit putting shawls onto her little bunnies (Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail and Peter). I bought a big book that had all of the tales of Beatrix Potter in it at a discount bookstore in town and cut out the title page of three of the tales (Benjamin Bunny, Jeremy Fisher and Peter Rabbit) and put them in clear glass frameless frames and attached buttery yellow plaid ribbon to the frames to hang. I had used the same frameless frames with some Pooh prints in my boys' nurseries, so they are getting reused. AND there is a quote painted on one of the walls that says, "Rest well, much fun lies ahead." It's really sweet. Sorry I got VERY descriptive. LOL

Kate--Wouldn't it be fun to actually open a store? I've always ALWAYS wanted to open either a children's bookstore (that sold, yes, MY books too) or a Hallmark store (I'm addicted to Hallmark stores). That's funny about your DH freaking out about the baby's kicks. My DH put his hand on my tummy the other night and felt the baby roll around, and he also jumped. I told him, that was just a roll, not a kick, and he couldn't believe it. I told him last night that I'm still amazed that I'm growing a little person inside of me. It happens everyday to thousands of women across the world, but the miracle isn't lost on me. :)

Trish --Pennsylvania sounds like fun!! I know that it will be very hard to move especially right now, but I'm praying that all goes well and this place is more than you hoped it would be. Congrats on getting four miles in! You make me feel like such a slug!!

Jen--Don't sweat the workouts. The first trimester is SO draining. It took all I could do to keep awake through the day. I think that's part of the reason I loaded up on carbs --to get some energy. I left you a response in your deli meat post. As for feeling bigger, I think that pregnant women start retaining water right from the get-go. Plus feeling so tired and sluggish makes us feel bigger, I think. I'm sure you look exactly the same!! :)

Susan--Hope you get the go-ahead to drive soon! You must feel so confined! As for the spotting/soreboobs, maybe your doc can shed some light on it Friday. Are they going to retest your levels then?

Maggie--I'm sorry that your little one is "growing up." That would freak me out a bit! I think that 11 is pretty normal nowadays. Buy her a chocolate bar and tell her welcome to our world!! :) Glad you like the avatar. That's my little one, Henry, picking his nose like crazy Easter before last when he was 2. I came upon that picture and just love it! I didn't know you were a redhead! My oldest, Oliver, has fire-red hair. I'm hoping this one has red hair too!

Steph-sorry to be confusing. I go to my neurosurgeon on Friday for my post-op appointment.
I swear Im falling apart these days.:)

Jen#2, I ate/eat lunch meat and such, just not in excess. I am VERY laid back though.

Maggie, we've always just kept baby in our room too. I was suprised DH wanted to convert my office into the baby's room. Justin did use crib for naps for a while...he really liked it alot. Jadon never had a crib. In reality baby will be with us for the first 6months---at least--b/c I love to nurse throughout the nights---especially when I go back to work,

The smiley faces are right below the box you type in. I don't know where the font coloring is though. Where's that? And how do you change the font/color of your signature?

Good Morning!

Melanie, I picked out bedding at Land of Nod. I really like it, it has an argyle bumper, polka dot sheet, and the quilt has baby animal faces. The colors are very gender neutral yellow, green, pale orange. My mil is buying it for me:) I already bought the big boy Britax carseat. We saw a camo print one and my boys love camo so I bought it.

JenM, I ate lunch meat through my first two pregnancies. Now my doctor told me to stay away from it unless it is heated. So for the most part I avoid it. I don't think $550 is a bad price at all for the bedding and everything you are getting. The bedding I picked out is $300 and it only includes sheet, bumper, quilt, and skirt.

Maggie, how is your dd today? I started my period at 11 so I don't think it is too early. Unless I am abnormal:) I sleep with my babies too but for some reason I have to have the crib up and room decorated. My husband thinks I am crazy.

Kate, my husband totally freaks out if he feels the baby move.

Stephanie, I love Hallmark too. I already went and looked at the Christmas decorations.

Susan, I hope everthing goes well at the doctor and you can get back to driving.

Trish, sorry you aren't happy about your move:( Maybe you will end up really liking it there. Good job on getting your 4 miles in.

Hi Jen, Lisa and anyone I missed.

Today is our busy day we have gymnastics and Jiu-jitsu. I have to go and get on the elliptical and Wilson is bugging me to put together some shelves I bought him for his bedroom. Hopefully I will be able to check back

Candra

Melanie--To change the font/color etc. click on User CP above and go to Edit Options. Go to the bottom of that page to Misc. Options. Change it to either Standard Editor (which is what I did) or Enhanced Editor, and that will give you options for your fonts every time you type anything (including your signature). ;)

ETA: Hi Candra!!

!

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is well today!
I am at work, and we had Chili's brought infor lunch by the drug reps(this is the only perk of this job!!!) I am having the Caesar salad with no dressing, and its yummy!
Maggie-I have a vibe (or wishful thought)that you will have this baby soon! and your dd, was she upset at all or okay? I remember it scared me to death!
Kate-Do you have everything packed for your trip?
Trish-I live in south Texas,so I feel your pain about Louisiana. Maybe it won't be that bad? How are you feeling?
Melanie-glad you are getting your workouts in! I am startingweek 13 tomorrow and I reallly do feel better. Almost like my old self, except so tired. Oh well, I am still in my non maternity clothes, though tht won't last many more weeks. Happy late bday, by the way!
JenM-I ate plenty of lunch meat and I was fine. I guess you just eat what you can. I hope you get to feeling better soon. We are going ot findout what we are having, so I can do the nursery up right(neither of my other 2 got a good nursery!)
Susan-where are you on your ovulation chart? Almost there?
Stephanie-that nursery sounds so cute! I love stationary stores, they are my weakness. I order these note careds that have little stick people on the front one for each member of the family with our name under each, anyway I have to hurry and use them all before the baby or I will have to draw the baby in on the cards!
I am ging to bed at 7 pm tonight, no kidding. I stayed up Fri night because of the 7 year old slumber party that lasted until 3 am. Then sat we went to Sea World, and it was 100 degrees. Then Sunday and Monday night ds had issues and was up both nights in the shower because of wetting the bed and then itching (he has eczema really bad). Then dh was on call last night and that *^%& pager went off all night long. I finally just got up at 4 just to get it over with. That is all that is goingon here, except that a Hurricane is coming this way, so maybe it won't be a 100 the rest of the week!
I did 4ds low intensity(it was still high intensity for me:()

I am so ticked! I just spent about 30 min replying to everyone and its GONE!!!
I feel like the only one who doesn't like the new forums!!!

I will try to get back later but I really need to get DDs down for a nap now!
