TTC Nov 4th-Where is everyone???

Cathlete
Hello,
I don't have much going on here since I posted last, but I was up at the crack of dawn with my DS (he has no clue it is Daylight Savings time) so I thought I'd get this started for the week.
I am doing well with my workouts. I did Bootcamp and Kickbox 4-Day Split workouts, 2 P90X weight workouts (shoulders and arms and legs-also abs) and the premix that has kickbox and bootcamp cardio. I am looking for some new exercise DVDs, and I was checking into the new Amy Bento's. How are they? Have you ever done her workouts before? I saw mixed reviews.

I should get AF this week. My temp did go up (yeah) finally. It was 97.7 the whole cycle until last Thursday. It went up to 98.3, and it's been at that since then. I know about the 18 day rule for temps above the coverline, so I will continue to be hopeful.

I hope to hear from everyone soon!
-Jen

good morning everyone!

jen, are you sure you are not pregnant? great workouts. i ordered amy's hsc2 - it has some weight work on it, and if i like it, i may get her slo mo. i just want another step workout as i know running is only going to happen for a few more weeks. still thinking about that elliptical....

melanie, how did your 5 days go? is it true you only have 2 this week???? where are you in your cycle?

hi anne - how are things?

lisa, if you happen to read, we miss you!

hi autumn - what are you working out with these days?

hi kristan - how are the poptarts and pepsi's these days? that made me laugh when you wrote about wanting those.

i feel like garbage. i must be having twins to feel so bad at just a few weeks along. i feel pretty nauseous all day long. no vomiting yet, though i wish i would. i am still exercising a ton, but that is the only time i feel good. my running pace is a smidge slower, but it still feels god to go long. my eating is pretty bad. i had 2 energy bars and 1 granola bar yesterday, then some choclate!! too much sugar. i will try, yet again, for a cleaner day today. i think if i got some sugar out of my system things would feel better. just a thought.

hope to hear from people lots - i am chatty today. oh, and the in laws leave on monday. i need some peace and quite back. my mil wants to make dinner tonight - a fish pie;( ;( i feel sick just thinking about it.

Morris-Your in-laws are STILL there?????????????? Oh, you poor girl! What would you think about twins? My son was very colicky, so I don't know what I would have done with 2. I guess I would have just done it!

I refuse to take any epts and get my hopes up. What happens, happens. I feel lousy, though. If I am not pregnant, than my hormones must really be screwed up. My lower back hurts like crazy-like last month, and my boobs are so, so, so sore!!! It almost feels like beginning breastfeeding-yep that sore! If this is just a new PMS symptom, than i am not happy about it. This has been happening for a few months now, but not this bad!!!

Kristan-how are you doing? I loved Coke, hamburgers and Starbursts with my first preg.

Anne, Melanie, Autumn,Lisa-How are you doing? what are you up to? Any other Amy Bento reviews? I am seriously considering them.

Does anyone know why my new Cathe DVD won't play on my computer's DVD player? It plays other DVDs.

-Jen

Hey Morris - Twins would be so AWESOME! When is your first u/s? Did you do anything special to ttc this time around? Nice job on the exercising and hoping you feel better soon. I know what you mean about eating crappy. I've been a pig with sweets for the last 2 weeks. I feel so gross.

Jen - Hey Jen, are you charting on FF? If so, give me the link, so I can take a gander. 98.3 sounds good! My chart is o.k. I'm 8 DPO, took a dip these last two days from 98.6 to 98.23, so wondering if it will go back up. I'm thinking this probably isn't the month, but still hoping. Sorry, I've never heard of Amy Bento, what type of dvd's does she do?

Hi Lisa!

Well, I almost finished IMAX3 for the first time. I quit at the 9th interval. I did pretty well catching on to the moves the first time around. Now, I'll have to work on polishing it up. My workouts have been good, but eating like crap. I can't stand it when I do that. Just imagine what I could do if I just ate clean! }(

Not sure who was asking about temping during the day. It will drive you crazy so don't do it. Your temp varies depending on activity, what you eat and what you drink, so I would suggest just temping in the morning to keep from stressing yourself out!

Here's my chart for the month...

Hope everyone is doing well!

anne, you made me smile! yeah, i think twins would be pretty neat. not sure if i could justify continuing to work though. i love my job, but i only work part time, and child care for part time is almost as expensive as full time. i will find out one way or another on wednesday am 8am!!! i just feel so darn ill, almost all day long. definately early in the morning, then mid morning and lunch, then afternoon, and definately evening. sometimes there is a good hour in there. you'd think i'd lose weight, but i keep eating thinking i will feel better. yuck!! i am sorry you don't think this is your month. to conceive we did do 16 days of folistim to get my ovaries growing. are you still toying with the idea of further help?

jen, things sound quite good for you. when is your tww officially over?

hi melanie, have a good weekend?

lisa, we miss you!

hi autumn, hi kristan.

i ran this morning and it was cold!! took me about 4 miles before the nausea went away. the last few miles felt pretty good. i ordered amy's asc2. i will let you all know how it is.

Sorry I've been AWOL, I"m back now!

I worked a bunch of days last week, then picked up an extra shift in my hometown and with Halloween, it was just impossible to post,...I did check in and scan posts though to make sure I didn't miss anything really big (waiting for another pg announcement)!!!!

Well, my in-laws were suppose to come last weekend,...at least I thought,...I got a phone call from DH Friday stating they were on their way! So, they came "a week early",...but with so much going on,...I'm sure I was the one that mis-heard when they were coming. We had a nice visit, they stayed three days & now they're on their way back home.

I just finished my couple days of ovulation, with no "deposits", so I"m out this month. I"m so ambivalent to the whole TTC thing right now anyway. I"m getting older and want to have one more,...but our life is sooooooooo challenging at the moment too. If we wait until it's less challenging, I'll feel too old to have another. If I don't have number four, I may have this "empty" feeling in my heart that has already been carved our for number four. In short, if it happens, it happens and then God will give me what I need to handle it...if it doesn't happen I"ll have to rely on God to fill in the carved spot!!!

I'm learning Cathe's new choregraphy & am beginnig to enjoy her new series more. I have been doing premixes. It's too bad they're not on all one DVD so we can have premixes b/w them all. ;)

I am scheduled to work just two days this week. I look forward to relaxing & hanging out with family. I need to make some lists, I have lots to accomplish.

Morris, it does sound like twins. I've read how nausea, fatigue, and the whole pg is much tougher on the body. Can you afford to take a couple years off of work? Would you be able to fill in, or just work one day a week to keep your "hands dirty"? You amaze me with your workouts.

Kristan, how are you feeling?

When's Lisa due to come back?

Autumn, have you had a chance to try all DVDs?

Jen, how are your workouts going?

Check back later...

Hi ladies!

Jen, your thermal shift was last Thursday, right? If so, AF may not arrive this week. AF arrives 14 days + or - a couple days after ovulation.

Morris, hope you feel better.

Melanie, enjoy your days off this week. I need to follow your example on TTC, because you are right about God.

Hi Anne! Hi Kristan!

I have not tried all of the new DVDs. I am back to kettlebell workouts. I received a new kbell DVD last week and purchased a heavier kbell, and I am loving the workouts. It just feels right for my body at this time. Traditional weight workouts don't. So, I am spinning twice a week, kbells 5-6 x's/week, 20 minute yoga 5x's, and classical stretch a couple of times. I really want to work on my flexibility. If anything makes me feel older, it is my lack of flexibility.

Well, recess is over. :) Gotta get back to homeschooling.

Toodles!

Autumn,
I didn't know you homeschooled. That's great! ;)

melanie, glad to see you back! perhaps your ambivalence this time around is partly the time of year? i know you said ideally you'd get pregant in the spring? how did you feel when you were ttc with jadon? any mixed feelings or totally gung ho? i still have moments of terror - how will i manage another?? not sure what i'd think if this was number 4:) but, i also cannot wait to meet my tiny little baby.

autumn, what amazing workouts!! great job. when do you fit them in?

melanie, your post made me think about work. i wouldn't mind taking a few years off but worry about how much i'd miss and getting back into the field. things change so darn quickly. even if i work just 1 day a week, the main issue is finding childcare. with no family near by, and fairly poor options otherwise, it is hard to know what to do. i think things will become more clear once i see how many there are, and also, dh will be changing jobs next year this time - we may be moving. so, that could very well decide things for me. for now i will plan to just continue as i am until i am pointed in a new direction i guess.

I got in a few 4-5 mile runs last week and also did the HIS/LIS combined cardio and also the circuit style bootcamp. The bootcamp was not as hard as I thought it would be. I guess I didn't realize how short each drill was.

I ordered a bunch of stuff from collage- Amy Bento ASC2 and cardio pump hi/lo, Sharon Twombley All Body Attack and replaced my BC/ME DVD (somehow broken into little pieces- perhaps by my 2 yo son0.

Morris- how was the fish pie? That sounds vile; what goes into such a dish?

Jen- hoping you get a + test.

Melanie- I understand wanting #4 vs. waiting for #4. i think you and I are about the same age (I'll be 37 very soon). I was under 35 when I had my other kids; suddenly I am of "advanced maternal age" with this pregnancy.

Hello to everyone else. My week is very busy- my husband is out of town until Wednesday, my van is in the shop for maintenance, my kids start skating lessons Wednesday, and I am having a sorority alumnae luncheon at my house Thursday. On Friday, my husband is presenting a seminar at a local university, we have a pizza party that night, and Saturday is 2 birthday parties and our parish dinner/dance.

My DH and I made a pact years ago that we would not conceive past 35. I am offically 34 + 4 months. I DEFINITELY HERE A CLOCK!!!!

Kristan, you sound so busy!!! My two little ones are currently screaming as a type. I'm determined to teach them good sleep hygeine. Currently, they need me to stay in the room with them until they fall asleep,...which has been wearing on me,... so now they are crying it out. Urgh. I know it's for the best.

Morris, will you know on Thursday if you're having multiples?

I just pre-viewed & ordered some Amy Bento DVDs, after reading that some of you ladies have used her. She looks similiar to Cathe. I'm excited as I need some more variety as it's getting cold here in Northern Minnesota! I did Mindy Mylrea's Slammin Cardio after getting the itch b/c Cathe's bootcamp is so similiar. It was fun. :)

I found out there was a bakery just across the border in Ontario. The boys and I had to go check it out. Wouldn't you know it, there was a pharmacy next door. I went in and introduced myself, the pharmacist is the owner, a young gal (even younger than me) who is 10 weeks pg. Is it just me, or is EVERYONE pg when your TTC? ;) Anyway, in Canada the government gives you 1 YEAR off, paid. Boy, does the USA have it screwed up or what? We're lucky to get 12 weeks off, and usually at our own expense!!!

Anyway, who was it that did Amy Bento and do you have her new DVDs?!?!?!

hi everyone - just a quick post as i have to go to work with ds for a morning meeting - should be interesting.

melanie, 1 yr PAID maternity leave? go apply for a job!!! i do some amy. i love her kbx workout, not so much her older ones. i did just order asc2 and will let you know what i think.

kristan, good luck with your week. i am tired just thinking about it!

still quite ill here. i am trying those sea bands today to see if it will help. gotta run!

Morris,
I think you have to be a Canadian resident to get the paid year off. :( The country pays for the maternity leave. I took the Canadian side home from work yesterday (the road was straighter and less bumpy) and I stopped at a little grocery store along the way. The had a parking really close to the entrance with a sign that posted that stated,"This spot for expectant mothers". Boy, USA could learn a lot from our neighbors. ;) Instead, our government supports (and seems to encourage) unwed teenage mothers,...

How are you feeling? I got nauseated with each of my bambinos. I found that exercise helped, nothing else did. Hang in there! Is tomorrow the day you find out how many babes you have in there?!?!?

hi everyone

justa quick post to say i have 1!!!! we saw the little one with a beating heart and a tiny yolk sack. i am so happy to have seen it. though it was hard to doubt the pregnancy b/c i felt so gross, i was still so relieved.

hope everyone is well.

ds is about to nap, and i am going to do legs and glutes then lie down for a bit. i am ignoring housework and laundry:))

Morris - Great news about the HB, that's so cool! I don't blame you for putting off the housework! A girl needs a break!

Melanie - They actually have those parking spots here in Iowa for expecting mothers. I see them at grocery stores for the most part. I wouldn't knock the US too much. We still have the best health care in the world. There are tons of expecting mothers from Canada that have to fly here, b/c the beds are all too full there! I agree it would be nice to have the paid time off, but I bet their taxes are outrageous. Who pays for all that! ;)

Hey Lisa - Hope you're having a nice time, I can't remember where you went!

I'm in my 2WW now, just waiting to see what the weekend will bring. Called the RE today to get a script for some Clomid for the next cycle. Anyone here been on Clomid before? Any bad reactions?

Hi Jen and anyone else I missed!

Anne

Hi ladies! I am sipping hot chocolate and praying my nose isn't fractured. My nose and DH's elbow met when he was starting the 4 wheeler... baaaaddddd timing. It happened about 2 hours ago and still hurts. At least the bleeding stopped. I am having flashbacks of my rhinoplasty recovery though.

Melanie, DD is in 2nd grade and has been homeschooled K-2. So far so good. I've asked her if she would like to go to school and she answers no. I think she realizes that would require an early departure from the house (she is not a a.m. person like me :)) and 7+ hours away from home. The only issue I am having is DS is not as easy to keep busy these days.

morris, the kbell workouts last 25-45 minutes. I spin about 40-45 minutes... usally the weekends since DH is home. Anyway, I do the spinning and kbells in the a.m and the stretching & yoga in the p.m. when I am more flexible.

Anne, I have taken 7 cycles of clomid. My side effects varied. The consistent side effect noted... a noticable change in mucus (quality and quantity). IUI was part of my treatment plan for 5 of those cycles though... so it didn't matter. It seems the first 2 cycles... back in 1999... were worse for PMS symptoms. It wasn't so bad with the 5 cycles in 2003. Feel free to ask questions... you are welcome to email or pm me too.

Hey, what do you ladies do with the workouts you don't want? I have a few to get rid of... I don't want to swap... just send to a new home.

MOrris, congrats on your healthy growing bambino!!! Are you disappointed there's not multiples?

Anne, Yes US has many good points, although around here many women do go to Canada for their babies/emergencies.

Autumn, you can send your unused DVDs to me!!!! I'll pay for shipping, of course. ;)

When does Lisa come back? I miss her!!!
