TTC/ Moms to be Check in Dec 30th

HAPPY NEW YEARS!

Wow Susan! You aren't going to try for long, eh? We're giving ourselves until July (my 35th birthday). No more clomid for me (now anyway). I may re-consider in April for a last "attempt", otherwise it's just not meant to be. I really feel like I need to "get on with my life", do you know what I mean? I have great benefits at my current job and I want to take advantage of them!!!!!!

The important thing I keep telling myself (that I have adopted from Joyce Meyer): I MUST ENJOY MY ADVENTURE ON MY WAY TO WHERE I AM GOING. I don't want TTC to take over, and lose precious time I have right now doing the right now stuff. You know what I mean?

How are our rounded belly moms doing this week?

Anyone have any TTC news? Any ovulators this week? Anyone due for periods/PG tests? BTW, DH actually had projectile vomiting during ovulation peak.It was so discouraging (especially with enduring clomid for a cycle). We did connect earlier in the week,...so hopefully some super strong girl spermies got united with my egg. Hey, you never know!!

I have tried a couple more of my Tracey DVDs. She is a nice alternative to Cathe. I seem to catch on easier to kickboxing than step (my first passion). I like Amy Bento & Mindy Mylrea better than Tracey. I am still trying to get Amy's ASC2 DVD. I haven't even perfected her first 2 portions! Ha!!

At the end of this week we're going to Mayo for a corneal transplant consult for DH.

Hey Melanie,
I am turning 41 in a week..so we won't try much longer at all.
I hope your appt at Mayo is very successful!
Hi to everyone else!

Susan, women successfully have babies well into their 40s. It's a personal choice of ours, with DH being 10 years my senior,...it was a decision that was made over 15 years ago between us. You never do know though, I have found God's ways to be humerously outrageous in the past! Ha! Ha! I'll be pooling for you to have a super speedy conception!!!!

My dh just turned 45 so hes like "ok its now or never"...I do think he would try a few more months though. I did meet a woman at a Christmas party who is 42 and 12 weeks preg with her 3rd child..she has a 15 year old and a 15 months old...so maybe there is hope. It was nice talkig to her about it.
Hopefully we'll all have some good news real soon!

susan, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

mel, hope you and the rest of the family successfully avoided the projectile vomiting. also hoping you caught some super strong sperm. good luck at mayo with the corneal transplant.

lisa, i am waiting for news from you. weren't you finishing your 2ww?

anne, i think you are finishing your watch too?

hi jen, hi kristan, hi autumn

well, dh should be home in 7 days. i really miss him but am so proud of how well ds is doing. i also am so glad i feel good and competent. i just started a gym styles rotation for the next few weeks. they are long but fun workouts. still haven't gotten an elliptical, mainly b/c i am still running and enjoying that. my eating is pretty good these days, though i could do with a few days without chocolate. we are in the midst of a snow storm today - luckily work and daycare are closed, so we can stay home and cosy up.

have a great new years everyone.

I believe that Lisa & Anne are on watch out around 4/5th? Fertility vibes going there way!

:) :) HAPPY NEW YEAR'S!!!! :) :)

Well, AF came and visited a few days ago so like Melanie, I'm just hoping to get pg by June which is when I turn 35. We'll have to see though.

Melanie - Sorry about your DH getting sick while you were o'ing. Like you said, maybe those strong girl swimmers made it! I still have to go and purchase Amy Bento's new step video.

Susan - My dr. had her second baby at 41 also. It's very common these days.

Morris - Sounds like you're doing so good!! How many weeks are you now? I hope the time flies between now and when DH gets home. I give you so much credit for being a military wife, it sure isn't easy esp. with a family of your own.

Anne - How are you doing? How did the Santa outfit go over?

Jen - I hope your MIL is doing okay and you guys got to spend some quality time with her. How was the holidays?

Autumn, Kristan - HI!!

My eating has been horrible. I need a check-in with my eating. Hopefully it'll get better with the holidays almost to an end. I have been working out faithfully though. I am hoping to buy myself some new videos online. I want the ASC2 from Amy Bento and I saw some CIA workouts I might get. I'm also wanting to get Muscle Max. If I'm a little MIA here and there, it's because it's year closing for work and it'll be crazy busy. That and my kids are home for 2 more weeks. I will keep checking in though and hopefully be able to post.

Lisa

Hi all!

Happy New Year to you all!

Lisa - Sorry AF found you. Ughhh....

Melanie - Yup, I think it's a wise choice not to let TTC overtake your life. For me it's a bit hard not to be obsessed not having any kids of my own yet. I know it's just as hard when you want another, but not to experience ever having a child to love, just kills me sometimes. But, I too am going to try to start the new year off not obsessing so much. I might stop temping and using the monitors, we'll have to see. I think I'll stop the Clomid for a while too. Our next step is to get through DH appt to see if surgery will help increase his counts at all.

Sending some prayers for your DH corneal transplant. Is that a complicated surgery?

I have a feeling AF will arrive sometime this weekend, so yay for that.

But, I don't want to be such a downer with the new year, so enough about that!

Morris - is your hubby home yet? You must be missing him! My eating is o.k. and I'm actually surprised that I've gone about a week with no chocolate!

Hi Autumn, Susan and Kristan!

So, has anyone tried Amy Bento's kickbox xtreme dvd? I like Cathe's kickboxing, but wondered if there were others out there that are just as good? Anyone have dvd's to recommend? I got the new Collage catalog and just going through that to see what's worth checking out.

Hi to all and hope our pregnant ladies are doing well!

I'm actually going to work on losing 20 lbs, no coffee or caffeine for the new year. Hoping that may all help in my ttc journey. Wish me luck!

Amy Bento's Kickboxing Xtreme DVD is AWESOME!!! My favorite kickboxing DVD to date. :)

Anne - I'm crossing my fingers and praying that AF doesn't show up!

I forgot to ask everyone if anyone made any New Year's resolutions?

Lisa

good morning everyone

lisa, so sorry af found you:-( :-( i hope 2008 is better. you will love amy's asc2 - very complex but such fun. i also enjoy her hi lo dome and am waiting to try hi lox. i do her kbx all the time. i did not like it at first as it is quite different from cathe. once i got over that, though, it has been great - lots of fun.

hi melanie. i should have that book posted to you today, this afternoon at latest. what new workout do you like best? i am thinking of getting the ctx series, but am not sure.

hi susan. hope things go well over the next few weeks.

hi anne. i hope af stays away. i am really praying for you.

hi autumn, hi jen, hi kristan.

i am really going to work this week on cleaning up my diet. i am so much better now that i feel good, but i need to just work on potrtions, and uping my veggies. i guess this little baby does not like veggies as much as ds. i need to make some good soups i think, but alas, have no real desire to cook:) todays goal will be controled meals and snacks, no processed food. so far i have had oatmeal, fruit, and a little leftover protein from last night:) i ran this am but hope to do abs and floor work during ds's nap.

Lisa- I agree with what Morris said about ASC2. There's also a circuit premix on it too with some pretty tough weights.

Melanie and all- i am going to look into the Bento kickboxing - maybe it's on Netflix so I can try it first. Why doesn't she call a video Bento Box (get it? like the Japanese lunch plates?).

I too really need to clean up my eating. I need to step away from the Christmas candy and eat more protein and less sugary stuff.

We had a really nice mini vacation and family reunion. My kids had a blast with their cousins (18 kids total) and it was very refreshing.

I head back to work tomorrow, but I am taking the kids in today to see my secretary and coworkers.

I only worked out 2.5 times last week- a couple "magazine" trips to the gym and a hilly 2 mile Ozark run while vacationing. I've been good this week- a 5 mile run and Bento HiLow cardio pump. I also added on part of "10 minute solution" with Amy Bento (new on Netflix). It's a dandy little band workout, but it was challenging. Hoping to also do B+G and maybe the combined cardio off 4DS- probably the bootcamp/kickbox combo.

I am totally overwhelmed with laundry and hope to make a lot of progress today.

take care!

Hope everyone is doing well. Lisa sorry this wasnt your month...but it will happen!!!
Im pretty sure af will come this weekend. I am feeling it big time! DH and I talked...we will try 2 more months.
Thanks for all your encouragement!

Happy New Year! I am about to watch one more episode of Heroes on the computer then head to bed. I go back to work tomorrow. I loved my long break, and I don't feel like going back!

My resolution is to start a food journal. I joined sparkpeople after much suggesting in my mom's part. So far, so good. I have been working out more too. I abandoned P90X after loss of motivation, and am getting back into the game with 4-Day Split. I love all the premixes.
Melanie-Thanks for the thumbs up for Amy's kickbox workout. That will be my reward to myself if I can journal for 14 days straight! I just go a new Collage catalog, and I dog-eared that page.
Welcome Susan!
Lisa, sorry to hear about AF.
Anne-did DH like the Santa outfit?
Morris-How are you doing?
Kristan, it sounds like you are busy.
Hi Autumn!

I am still TTC, and you will all be the first to know when it happens.
Have a great week!
-Jen

DH still owes me a "Xmas present" so I'm going to have him order me those Amy Bento dvds. I'm leaning toward ASC2 and Kickbox Extreme.

Morris - I'm working on my eating also. Doing pretty good today.

Jen - The food journal works. It worked for me when I did do it.

Kristan - I have magazine time at the gym also. That's so funny.

I've worked out everyday this week so far and I have gone back to the GS series. I am planning on doing B&G tonight and then do cardio tomorrow. Talk to you later, dd is calling!

Lisa

Lisa, you won't be dissappointed with that selection. ;)
Great job on your workouts!
We're headed off to Mayo, so I'll catch up with you gals when I get back.
Anne, I don't think I saw a post of AF yet, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

mel, good luck at mayo! also, i posted the book yesterday, you should have it by saturday! enjoy.

Hi,
Well, AF got me again;( . I actually KNEW I wasn't preg because all the PMS signs were there, like in all the previous months we've been TTC. But, it still made me very, very sad. My biggest thing is that I don't want my kids to be so far apart. My sister and I are 4 years apart, and we are not close. My brother and I are 6 years apart, and hardly talk at all. My DH keeps telling me not to worry because he and his bro are almost 4 years apart, and they were close growing up, and still are (in fact, he just left our house). Right now, my DS will be 3 in March. I want him to have a little brother or sis SO bad!!! Is this all in my head about the age difference? Do any of you have children who are spaced farther apart and get along?

I'm SO frustrated because this past cycle was the first one where I drank wine, drank coffee, was really relaxed, had "relations" on a regular basis (every other day on days 11-20). I had the mindset of "when it happens, it happens". I was really shocked when I did become so upset about not becoming preg. this month. Maybe my hormones are getting the best of me right now. I'll calm down, but for now, I really need a hug!
-Jen

jen, sending lots and lots of hugs your way!!!! i am sorry it didn't work out this cycle and can appreciate your frustrations and concerns. i think, though, that siblings are close despite age based on how they are raised. if you all emphasize playing together and hel, ping each other and spending time together, the kids will remember that regardless. some people say it gets easier as kids are further apart in age b/c the older one truly grasps the responsibility aspect and can enjoy helping more rather than competeing. i know that doesn't help your disappointment and emotions this cycle, buthopefully you can move forward to the next cycle. my thoughts are with you.
