TTC Check-In Aug 5

Hey there ladies! Okay so this was not the month for me, but I hope it'll be soon. I was soooo tired yesterday from AF being around. I did manage to get four workouts in last week. I did a lot of pilates, the Gabrielle Reece workout, IMAX2, GS BSB, and B&G. I miss going to pilates class with the reformers, but it gets pricey so I'll settle for my home floorwork pilates for now. It still does the job of slimming my middle so I'm happy. As for the eating, I'll just say that it was ds' birthday so you can imagine the junk that went in my mouth over the weekend. Ice cream, cake, brownies, and pizza. I'm still up for a whole grain/veggie/fruit challenge this week though. Despite the junk that went in my mouth, I did eat a lot of whole grains and overall meals were better. Anyone in?

How did everyone else's week go? Love to hear from all of you!

Yes, keep a positive attitude toward TTC:) . My AF is due at the end of this week, so we'll see...

I had a lot of junk too, but not as much as I could have. I sent my in-laws home with all of the leftover brownies (3 people brought them to my party), cookies and doughnuts! I left a few cookies for my DH and me. I ate a lot of watermelon yesterday, and I drank a lot of water, but some goodies did make their way to my mouth. I am in for the challenge this week. I really need to eat more veggies! When I was on WW online, I did a great job with eating my veggies.

This week is going to be another hot one! It will also be a busy one too. There are meetings cropping up for school, and I will be in my classroom all day on Wednesday getting it ready for the new school year. We have to put in one full day now in order to get an extra day off at Thanksgiving time, so I do that every summer.

Today, my son and DH and just hanging around the house. We were going to go to Hershey Park, but it looks like it could rain any secondx( .

i did a lot of workouts last week - can't remember them all, but i know i spent a lot of time on my treadmill. the heat broke here last night, so ds, our dog, and i had a picnic in the park today. ds is really getting good at walking, so we all had a good time. i did okay this weekend with eating until tonight - i bought weight watchers ice cream sandwichs this am, and i just shouldn't have as i ate 2 today! also had a luna bar, which is basically a candy bar. sigh. i am definately up for a clean eating challenge this week.

hope everyone has a good monday. i am hoping to hear from my dr about possibly trying a progesterone withdrawl to stimulate af.
 
Hi ladies! I was beginning to think my moving was under control...then my DH went to storage unit and brought a MOTHER LOAD back with him. It seemed like 70% of the boxes said "office" on them. Guess who's room that goes in? Yup, mine.

On a positive note, the rest of my step pieces made it home, as well as at least 40% of my workout DVDs, yeah! I have all my weights (which I hardly use) as well. I have been running a couple of times, the road in much flatter here (not hilly at all) so I should be able to run farther. DS is going out for cross country so I'll have 3 boys to run with now.

Jen, are you a teacher?

Morris, what does a progeseterone withdrawal detail? Are you talking about the progesterone vaginal suppositories? BTW, I tried Dramamine for my Germain Shepherd for motion sickness in the car and it didn't work, any other suggestions? Xanax?

Lisa, our periods must not match up anymore? I got mine on the 30th, when did you get yours?

Anne, how are you doing? Have you done any research on what you found out from drs?

Autumn, how's your little girl doing? Are you staying cool in your neck of the woods?

Gotta start to attack those "OFFICE" boxes now. ;)

Hi again,
I was at the grocery store this morning and I picked up an EPT and put it in my cart. Then...I took it out. Then I put it in, and finally, I took it out. Ahhhhhhhh! So, I did not get it. I just will wait to see if I get AF or not.

Melanie-Yes, I am a teacher. I teach 1st grade:) .

It is about 9000 degrees in this room now, and I am going to work out now. Maybe I will lose about 5 pounds of water weight from sweating:) .

how did that workout go jen? our heat wave broke, and this am it was 58 outside. in my basement with windows open it was 72!!!

melanie, the progesterone withdrawl is a 5 day course that after you finish (orally) you can often have a period. it didn't work for me 2 years ago but maybe it would this time?

i have a case of the grumpies today, so not much else pleasant to say at all. sorry:) hope to adjust my attitude quickly.
 
Morris - Vent if you need to. That's what we're here for! Hope the progesterone works for you this time. Did you always have issues with having regular cycles?

Jen - You have to go to babyhopes.com and buy those cheap aimstick pregnancy strips which are highly sensitve. The most senstive ones out there so you can take those tests without spending all that money! Can't wait to hear the news!

Melanie - Yikes, did your dog throw up in the car? Poor thing! When do you start your new job?

As for me, I hit mitts and kicked the pad with DH yesterday and I was cagging! I forgot how much work it is! I used to do it all the time before, but haven't in awhile. I was watching Fight Girls and it made me want to so DH got out his gear and all I could take was 20 minutes worth. It felt good to have my arms and hand shake after. It was a lot of fun. I miss it! I definitely drop weight the fastest by doing it, but it's hard timewise since I would have to rely on DH.

lisa, that sounds like a great workout and a greater stress reliever. i need to try that. yes, i have always been irregular, which is why i went on the pill in the first place (way back a loonnngggg time ago;) at any rate, my dr office called and i am going to meet with my dr to discuss things at the end of august as that is her first available appointment. i hate waiting, but, it is only a few weeks./ and who knows, maybe i will cycle in the meantime.

melanie, unfortunately, there isn't a lot you can do for car sickness. metoclopramide or meclazine may help, but usually over the longterm, not the short term.

jen, i must admit, i was hoping to see a post from you. have you tested yet?

No news yet. I have had no aches or pains today at all. I am going to run some errands, and I may be passing through Target. Hmmmm...I swore I wasn't going to get a test, so we'll see. I am not due to get AF until Friday, so it's not like I missed a period. I guess I will just wait it out. I will be busy tomorrow, Thursday and Friday (I will still get on to read your posts, though), so that should take my mind off of things.

Morris-Sorry, we'll have to wait a few more days for news (unless I cave at Target at buy one. I hope the progesterone works for you. My sister was ALWAYS irregular-she still is. She does have two little girls. I know what you mean about not being enthused about waiting for the appointment. I am SO jealous about your cooler weather as I sit here sweating in an unairconditioned room when it's 96 and very humid outsidex( . I would die for 70s during the day and 50s at night!

Lisa-Thanks for the babyhopes website. They look good, and I will order them from the site for next month. Wow-you had an awesome workout! I don't feel like moving!

Melanie-Good luck with unpacking all of the office boxes! That should count as a workout!

Jen - I know what you're going through. The temptation to just pick those stupid things up!! Almost like chocolate on a stressful day! Maybe you won't even need to get the sticks from babyhopes!

I did BodyMax2 this morning. I loved it. I'm trying to drop about 5 lbs. I've been eating really well today. I actually started a food journal/log. Let's hope that helps. Better get back to work. I'll check back later.

lisa, i like your idea of a journal/log. when do you write in yours? do you carry it everywhere? i went grocery shopping and in a moment of weakness caved and bought some cookies and granola bars - and i didn't get them for ds. i should just taek them to work and get rid of them.

Morris - I used to write in a composition book, but now I'm using Excel so it'll calculate automatically for me. I've been an Excel freak lately. They do sell food journals, but I don't have an exact one to suggest. I can find out from my friend where she got hers from. When I'm out, I write it on a piece of paper then log it down when I get home. There's tons of websites and books for general food calorie counting. I tend to use the following website: www.calorie-count.com. I try not to obsess because I can so I only do it when I'm trying to drop some pounds then I kind of get off the journaling unless I see my weight picking up again. I want to lose some before my sister's wedding so that's why I started up again, plus I've been having such a hard time eating healthy.

I did pretty good yesterday although I snuck in a few pieces of chocolate covered gummy bears. Overall, the journal helped me stay on track and today so far has been good.

I'm planning on doing yoga tonight and then legs tomorrow. Hope everyone is doing great.

how did you do today lisa? i did not do as well as i have the last few days. my day started okay, but during the afternoon, my worst time, i kept nibbling at work. i am so very very tired, and i have been working too much for dh being gone, i think the stress and fatigue just are really bothering me - not that excuses are helpful.... tomorrow is another full day, and i work again saturday, so no real relief in sight. i meant to try writing things out like you mentioned, but i could not quite get my act together. perhaps by morning my will power will be better.

how is everyone doing?
 
Hey Morris, I did okay today. My calorie intake was on target, but my food choices were probably not the best. I did good until I got home. I ended up eating a small waffle with light whipped cream and some strawberry syrup. I justified it by saying I had a healthy lunch of seafood stir-fry and brown rice. Anyway, I also had a vanilla yogurt cone. I have no chocolate in the house so that saves me because my will power with chocolate is not so good. I'm like you. When I'm tired and stressed, I snack on chocolate and sweets. How did you dr's appt go? Are you going to start the progesterone?

Where is everyone? Hope you guys are all doing great.

Anne, how did the month go? Are you on your 2ww?

lisa, sounds like you did well yesterday. i have a hard time estimating my caloric intake factoring how much i exercise. sometimes i go too low i think, then i am starving and end up overeating. today will be a better day i think. my attitude is better for sure! my dr's appointment isn't until the end of august, so i will have to be patient.

Hi Everyone,
Well, I caved and bought a test the other night, and I saw a very faint blue line that indicated I may be pregnant. Today or tomorrow would be the days I would get my AF, so I am still waiting. The test was a generic one, and I took it on Tues night, so it was pretty far before my actual AF was supposed to begin. I am getting some symptoms, but I hope they are not just in my head! I have so much saliva in my mouth (I know that's gross), my boobs continue to hurt (but that has been happening) and my stomach gets queasy in the mornings (but sometimes that happens too). I plan to pick up a better test today and try it. Keep praying for me-I really appreciate it!
As far as my eating this week, it has been pretty clean, but I have not eaten as many fruits and veggies as I would have liked. I have worked out the past 3 days (TJ cardio party was today, yesterday I did B&G and on Wed, I did P90X shoulders and arms).

I will report back later or tomorrow.

Morris - How's your day going? It's morning here so I have to buckle down and get in the mindset now. Let you know how it goes!

jen, i am really really hopeful for you - can't wait to hear.

lisa, my day is going okay. just had lunch - bean soup, veggies, and a low carb small tortilla. then, i was just really really itching for some icecream (i was out doing errands before afternoon appointments), so i caved and bought a baby sized chocolate soft serve - literally, about 2 tbs. it hit the spot though, without too much damage. wish me luck with the rest of the afternoon!

Morris - Today I did okay. I ate a small slice of cheese pizza and had a salad with a tbsp of really fattening dressing. Other than that, my day went great. I didn't work out today though which I really should have, but I was really pooped and burnt out. I did work out 5x this week so I let today slide. How did it go for you?

Jen - I'm still waiting to hear the news!!! Well....
