Happy April Fool's everyone!!

So I thought I'd start the new thread. I can't really post much right now, but just wanted to say hello to everyone.

Hope your guys weekend is going great. Sorry Melanie about the house and work situation. I hope you were able to get your workout in last night. How's the kitchen looking?

DH and I might go look at some open houses today.

I'll BBL (be back later).

Lisa

Kitchen is BEAUTIFUL. My DH does such good work! I did get a workout in yesterday, although I fell of the step TWICE and twisted my ankle. My ankle is swollen and sore today...but I pushed threw to get workouts in with a soft brace on. ;)

Today I had my last Mountain Dew. With every addiction, it is impossible to ever have moderation. My life long goal is never to have another Mountain Dew again. One day at a time. So...this weeks challenge: 64 ounces of WATER every day.

Here's a small questionaire:

What state do you live in? Rural/Urban?
Howe many kids? Ages?
Occupation?
Favorite Workout?

I haven't ovulated yet, my CM has been dry.

Here's my workouts:
Sun: 60 min run/walk (more walking)
Mon; 3 1/2 mile run
Tues: off (MOPS)
Wed: TJ Core + 3T
Thurs: TJ Remix
Fri: off (shopped)
Sat: IMAX 2

I will answer my questionaire later...kiddos need me. ;)

Ok so good idea about the questionaire..

What state do you live in? Rural/Urban? In Tampa, FL

Howe many kids? Ages? No kids but I have a great dane and 2 cats! lol

Occupation? Executive Assistant. My family owns a construction company and i work here with my mom, dad and brother. Love it! But once we have kids I'll be a SAHM.

Zero MDs today. Yeah! I"m on my way to a MD-free lifestyle!!! Yahoo!!

What state do you live in? Rural/Urban? We live in Rural Minnesota

Hi all,
Just wanted to introduce myself again. I was on here last 04/06, but miscarried in 06/06 and have been MIA for a while. I'm 37 and DH is 37 as well. We've been TTC our first, for a year now with no such luck. I actually started charting in Dec 06, so I know I'm at least ovulating. I have an appointment this week with my regular doctor to talk about next steps and possibly being referred to an RE. I had hoped we could do it 'naturally', but being 37, I'm feeling the pressure. I guess I also just want to know that things are 'ok' with DH and me.

My chart is actually really funky this month too. I'm expecting AF on Friday or Saturday. My temp took a big digger about 7 DPO, then sky high for a few days and another digger on 11 DPO, but not below the coverline. I'm now 12 DPO and it's starting to rise, so I'm on pins and needles for the week wait.

Anyway, long story short, wanted to say Hi and I'm back!

Anne

Let me do Melanie's questionnaire first before I forget. Melanie, did I read correctly? No MDs? Way to go!

What state do you live in? Rural/Urban? Hawaii - rural, I guess
Howe many kids? Ages? 1 daughter - 5; 1 son - 7
Occupation? Office Manager (although Office Slave seems more fitting sometimes)
Favorite Workout? Currently, I'm digging LIC.

Welcome Heather and Anne!

Heather, you posted earlier right? Glad to see you back.

Anne - Sorry about your miscarriage. I had a miscarriage in 5/06. We just started a couple months ago TTC. I'm going to chart with my next cycle. Just waiting for AF to show up.

Autumn - Where are you? I'm getting a little worried. I hope you're okay.

Morris - Do you run hills? We have a lot of hills where I live and I don't know if I should skip and avoid them or run up hill then walk down hill to avoid impact on my knees. Any suggestions?

Last week I worked out 4x/week. I'm trying to figure out what to do tonight for my workout. I'm PMSing big time and feeling very unmotivated. I did well with my eating for the most part. Except for that piece of chocolate chip pancake which was supposed to be for my kids...

Lisa

Hi ladies! I was sooooo busy last week that i didn't make the time to workout.

What state do you live in? Rural/Urban? We live in Rural Missouri
Howe many kids? Ages? Two. 6 y/o DD & 2 y/o DS.
Occupation? SAHM (homeschooling mom), Women's Health NP, NFP teacher
Favorite Workout? Spinervals and the Turbo Jams

<<I actually started charting in Dec 06, so I know I'm at least ovulating.>>

Anne, I am sorry about your loss. I debated sharing this but here it goes... You can't confirm ovulation through charting. You can identify fertile & infertile days but even the thermal shift does not confirm ovulation.

Back to TTC... we had difficulty TTC, and it was emotionally exhausting... ok, and maybe physically too. }( I will send positive vibes your direction and keep you in my prayers Anne.

I need to go to bed. Good night....

Autumn - Yay!! You're alive! We must have been posting at the same time - hey, great minds think alike. Okay, so even if you can't detect ovulation through BBT charting, can you tell if you conceived or to expect AF to arrive by the rise or dip in temp? I did wonder why there are so many different patterns of temp charting.

Lisa

Lisa, thank you for checking in on me. :D I have tried to post several times over the last week and keep getting distracted. :7

<<Okay, so even if you can't detect ovulation through BBT charting, can you tell if you conceived or to expect AF to arrive by the rise or dip in temp?>>

Yes, and BBT is certainly useful in identifying the infertile phase.

The thermal shift is related to progesterone, which can be produced with or without release of an egg. For example, Luteinizing unruptured follicle syndrome. http://www.inciid.org/faq.php?cat=femaleinfertility&id=2
Once the ovulatory event occurs, you can predict AF's arrival.

I did IMAX3 tonight since it's been awhile and I think I over did it with my knee. Now my knee and part of my upper shin is in pain. I forgot how high impact IMAX3 was. Great. I'm getting OLD!

Autumn - How long did it take you to get pg with your little ones?

Lisa

hi everyone - i feel behind with this check in and it is tuesday only! i love all the activity.

first, questionaire
i live in falmouth maine, a quiet town just north of portland.
i have one son who is 9 months old, and i really am ttc:)
i am a veterinarian and work parttime
favorite workout is running (and yes, it is very hilly) with my dog.

mel, great job both with the sat pm workout (that really amazes me as i am such a morning person) and the mt dew free day. i completely agree it is impossible to have moderation with addiction, at least for me. it is funny really, b/c don't we all feel better when we keep our bodies free of checmicals and sugar and such? sometimes, though, it just tastes sooo good!

autumn, glad you are well and back. thanks again for all the good info.

lisa, hope your knees recover soon - i did imax 3 on saturday. it is such fun, though a lot of impact.

welcome back anne. so sorry for your loss. what is re? i was thinking perhaps reproductive endocrinologist? i saw one of those when conceiving my first, so it worked! hope to have my next without it, but i will go back if thingss don't work after a bit.

welcome heather! i feel closer to dh now in a different sort of way after going thru pregnancy and now raising a little one. dh is an amazing father, and i love watching him with my guy.

i am well into week 2 of dh's 3.5 trip away. finn and i are forming a good routine and my spirits are higher than last week. i have done lots of workouts this week and cannot remember them all. lots of running, imax 3, kpc, and some strength work.

i am still on my 5 a day and prenatals, and today, my jeans are a bit loser!!! just a smidge, but i like the feel:) scale may be down 11 lb, but nothing to get excited today.

i am just going to post this b/c i have rambled on long enough:)

First, let me welcome Anne & Heather!!!!!!!!!

I am behind too Morris. I guess we get tardies and our names on the board. Hehe... snicker, snicker. :)

It took us some time to conceive. Here is my story.
I discontinued Depo in January 1997, and my cycles did not return. In January 1999, I had a shot of progesterone and a withdrawal bleed followed by two cycles of Clomid. I was frustrated and decided to let my body recover. I finally conceived in October 1999 with no treatments. Yay!

In 2002, we decided to try for #2. We conceived but lost the pregnancy at 10 weeks. We followed the doc's advice to wait 2 cycles before TTC. When we weren't successful, I began infertility treatments. I was impatient and aggressive. We did 5 cycles with no pregnancy and needed a break. It had been a tough year with the miscarriage, my dad passed away Easter, my mom lost her best friend 5 months after my dad died, then we lost her only sibling 5 days after her best friend. DH and I were exhausted and needed a break. We conceived on the anniversary of the miscarriage, which happens to be my birthday. So my son is the best b-day present ever!!!!!!!!

I gotta run but will be back...

autumn, thank you so much for sharing. what an amazing story! so much loss and grief, then such a wonderful blessing. you also give me hope that when i stop breast feeding i will actually have a natural cycle....

Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for the warm welcome and sharing your TTC stories with me. I know that it takes time and I think I'm just stressing myself out with all of the charting and monitors. Certainly isn't making for romance much. ;(

I know that I need to be patient and let things happen, but I want to take this first step to 'see what we're up against'. I have hope b/c we were able to get prego, I just need to chill out!

Oh, I live in urban Iowa
No kids or pets
I'm a Business Systems Consultant (write requirements, liasion between the business folks and the IT folks)

Hi to all and happy to have such nice ladies in the forum!

Anne

I'm so stressed over work right now. Tomorrow is our 10-year wedding anniversary though! I want to get away. My boss (the owner) is freaking out over some work/staff changes, and I've been having to counsel him through this. It's quite tiring I tell you. Anyway, I was hoping to get off island or something just to be away from work and every other stress.

Anne - I just started temping so I'll see how it goes. Sometimes forgetting that you're TTC helps get you pg!

I hope everyone is having a great Wednesday. Any fun plans for Easter? I got no workout in yesterday because AF is killing me and I had to let my knee rest. Today I think I'm doing one of my P90X strenth workouts and a jog/walk.

Lisa

hi lisa

happy anniversary! 10 years is wonderful. we had our 4 year anniversary last week. good luck with your boss.

no fun easter plans here yet. we are in the midst of a 9inch snowstorm - yuck!!!! i think we may have a snow day tomorrow, which would be really difficult as i have certain patients i need to see. but, what can you do? i just hope to not lose power.

uh oh - little guy is screaming for milk - better go. i am hoping to take a walk on the treadmill this evening just to break up this day a bit. we will see.

Hi Lisa, morris, Anne, Melanie, & Heather!

Lisa, Happy Anniversary!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morris, thank you for the kind words regarding my story. Morris, the 9 inches of snow sounds dreadful!! Ok, I'll stop whining about our cooler temps/snowshowers and be thankful. I hope you keep your power. We lost our power during that nasty ice storm that hit the midwest last December. We were only out for 3 days but it was miserable. I am a whiny, creature of comfort. No roughing it for me.

I am sooooo sleepy. I woke up at ~3:15 this am. I tried to go to sleep and gave up at 4:05. I did my spinervals and triceps & abs with Cathe. Cathe was much more enthusiastic than I. :D I was going to do CTX this week but my knees don't like it... so I am tweeking it and subbing Spinervals a couple of days.

DS is playing with the blinds... gotta go...
Autumn

Hi everyone. It looks like everyone has checked in? Yeah! And we're growing...welcome Anne & Heather.

No MDs for THREE days now. It's getting better....although now I"m craving cigarettes (haven't had one for 10 years)...

Workouts have been good. Water intake is definitely up (with no MDs).

Today I had a pap smear and took the van in for oil change/tire rotation. Sometimes life is so exciting, isn't it? Ha Ha

Just wanted to do a quick check-in. Going to play now with baby Jadon....

Way to go Melanie with the MDs! I bought mineral water with lime today to help me feel like I was drinking something fun because it's carbonated, but it's still healthy because there is no sugar just water and lime with bubbles. I normally drink lots of water anyway, but I can get bored.

I worked out last night even if every ounce of me wanted to sleep and I felt great after. It helped relieve a lot of stress.

I am having a really hard time giving up the white carbs. I eat whole grain a lot, but I still love my white breads and rice. I went to the health food store and bought the whole grain bread which I love, but I still find myself wanting the french bread. Does it ever go away?

Lisa

okay, i am in need of venting. no power for last 36hrs!!! no water, heat or cathe or running. also no dh to help. i cleaned the fridge out this am and hate wating food, but it had thawed. we camped out in front of the fire last night. ds slept, but i could not. also, i didn't workout yesterday or today and i feel bloated and dirty. now i am at work, dreading all i need to do at home, and frazzled.

thanks for letting me indulge, i will stop whinning now.

my blessings? my little guy is happy and healthy depite our living conditions.

my hope is to finish work today and take a little time for myself to exercise and shower if we have power back, then take my little one to grocery shop. i work tomorrow too, so we wil see what if anything i get done.

great job with the mt dews, melanie!! i feel lke a bit of a failure b/c with this stress i have not been eating well. not to mention it is hard to eat well when you cannot have your regular cooked or refridgerated food. i am just avoiding the scale till i get back on track.

our total snow fall was 13 inches! yuck!
