TTC and preggers - Week Dec 16th

Cathlete
Hi all,
Not too much new here in Iowa. Lots of snow and ice. Stayed in most of today to get the goodies ready to hand out to the neighbors. I did a lot of candy/cookie/bar making these past few weeks. I can't wait to get it out of the house, as I've been sneaking a lot of treats to eat myself!

I did make 2 soups from my Eating Clean cookbook, they're really yummy with all the fresh veggies and stuff you throw in there.

Workouts are going well. Still trying to figure out what's best to keep the knees from getting inflamed. I'm finding the Low impact are best and kick boxing is o.k. too.

Melanie - Can't wait to get the DVD when you're finished! ;) Are you more of a Cardio junkie?

Lisa - Hope you're getting over your cold!

Morris/Kristan - Hope you're both able to get some rest and keep up with things. Hope your pregnancies are going well!

Gotta run and try to get some Kick boxing and arms in today.

hi anne - thanks for starting us off. did you finish all your baking? we should compile a list of recipes! i did my standard breads this year. your soups sound good. i am a sucker for homemade soup. hope your knees are still okay.

hi lisa - did you ovulate yet?

hi jen - hope things are going well. any plans for the holidays?

melanie, did you all take a vacation or a work trip kids go too? dh wants to plan a vacation for spring, and i must say, the idea of traveling pregnant with my little guy somewhere with no child proofing is, well, exhausting.

hi kristan! how long are you usually able to run during pregnancy? do you find some days are harder than others?

i had a great weekend. i had 2 good runs and did 4ds bis, tris, and legs. boy am i slow now!! dh got me a garmin for christmas, but i won't let myself use it until i am not pregnant and not so slow!! i ordered amy's hi lo workouts this weekend. fyi - advanced workouts has everything on sale!!! i got a great deal and have a 30 day money back guarantee incase i don't like hi lo. i am hoping i can take them with me to flrida this weekend when ds and i go down there.

dh lelaves today for 3.5 weeks. i am dreading it but hope time goes by fast. thankfully i am feeling better and better, just more tired.

have a great monday everyone.

My other kids were all born in the fall, so I would quit running right at about 18-20 weeks when the weather started getting too hot. We'll see how far I keep running this time around. I'm not super fast or graceful, so my running is more like "plodding" along.

Morris- good luck with DH leaving. My husband's job calls him out of town for a month or so about once a year. I actually find myself in a groove of sorts when he is gone- minimal cooking, less laundry, less mess, etc. Of course we miss him though.

Anne- we also got some snow, but only about 7 inches. It was kind of fun. Re baking: I made a cranberry coffee cake that turned out all lopsided because my baking powder was too old. That made me so mad- because it was my own fault for not restocking my baking supplies.

I have an ultrasound tomorrow with the blood test. Very nervous; hoping results are within normal range. This is my first "over 35" pregnancy.

I got in ASC2 last week as well as Bento Cardio Pump Step. I ran 5 miles, did Spreen Progressive Strength and also went to the gym (and read magazines). Did you guys see all the weight training at the end of ASC2? I had no idea it was there until I looked at the premixes.

Hi everyone!

I"m getting a bit discouraged here. Wondering if it's meant to be (number four). I certainly don't want to wish something that's not in God's plans. Uhmmm. I have dr's appt next Friday, I'll ask about Clomid.

Great workouts gals! Even you preg women workout more than me now-a-days.

Our "vacation" was actually a trip to the pediatric dentist. Our middle son doesn't have very strong teeth & needs to see a specialist. Since we are so far in the boonies, it's a FIVE hour trip to the specialist! We made a mini-trip out of it.

What's the website for the sale DVDs? Not that I need anymore.... Anne, I am a MEGA CARDIO JUNKIE! I think I'll start a kickbox compilation, then a step one if all goes well.

No Christmas cookies this year, but I have Christmas pics and a family letter. Send me your e-mail address & I'll e-mail them to you!

mel, the website is advancedworkouts.com. you know my e mail adress, and i'd love to see your holiday pics. no holiday baking? i am impressed. my work place is so full of goodies....

i am sorry you are discouraged with ttc. ask about clomid. you could get a free sample perhaps:) i know what you mean about not wanting something that isn't in god's plan. i wrestle(d) with that too. i can only say that i found peace with our decision and believe god gives us the ability to make choices in our world. i cannot wait for the kickboxdvd :)

dh left yesterday, and i cried all evening. i am so hormonal. needless to say, i slept in and missed my am workout but more than made up for it at naptime}( }( actually, i am feeling a bit better too. go figure.

hope everyone is well.

Hi guys! Sorry I've been MIA, but I'm still sick as a dog. I got over the last cold and relapsed. I'm home sick from work today and trying to recoup.

Morris - Sorry DH had to leave. I think I'll check out that sale as well. I'm on my 2ww right now. I'm about 4dpo.

Melanie - I feel the same as you re: the whole pg thing.

Anne - Homemade soup sounds so yummy right now.

Kristan - Good luck with the u/s. Keep us updated!

Take care everyone!
Lisa

Hi ladies! I also apologize for MIA. I have a respiratory thingee that won't go away. DH was in Spain last week while the kids and I were sick with this thingee. My low back decided to give me grief too. Anyhoo, I am still trying to recover.

Just wanted to say Hi!

Anne, I think you need to send Autumn some get well soup!!!!!

hi everyone.

i am at work today - cannot believe i got here in the snow! hope this finds autumn feeling better. its awful to be sick, especially with no help.

melanie, how is your work these days. any further thoughts on clomid?

lisa, my fingers are crossed that it will be you this month. the tww is the longest i think.

anne, hope you are well and the knees are okay.

hi kristan, hi jen!

tomorrow ds and i go to florida for a few days to see my parents. we come home early christmas morning. i am very grateful the weather looks clear for the next few days. also, i got my hi los in the mail to take with em - now i just have to make time for workouts down there. today was part of amy's asc2 and part of imax 3 - it was fun but tiring.

have a good day everyone

Any 40 or over ttc? I am about to be 41..been ttc for 4 months. Had a miscarriage in October..but trying again. I have one dd age 7..got preganant very fast and had a perfect pregnancy...so we'll see.
Susan

Welcome Susan, I'm in my mid 30s here. I think Anne is in her late 30s? I"m not sure. Conceived within 6-12 months with first two, I was nursing number 2 when number 3 suprised us. I nursed number 3, but haven't done anything to prevent #4 pregnancy,...and well,...it just hasn't happened!

Today is day 3 on my clomid cycle. I"m doing okay. My skin is oily, I"m warmer than normal, and my ankles are swollen. Other than that, just peachy! I see the dr tomorrow for thyroid check and routine physical.

Hi Melanie.
According ti the ovulation calculater today thru the 25 I am most fertile..so we'll see. I have not been too scientific about ttc but I might have to be if something doesnt happen. The Dr said she expected it to take up to 6 months for me to con again.
Ih ope you get to feeling better!

wow, melanie, that was fast! i am so glad you are trying the clomid. hope you don't have too many side effects.

hi susan, and welcome!

hi everyone!

it is friday mid morning and i am on a mad tear to pack, clean, laundry, etc in hopes of leaving this afternoon. obviously not such a mad tear that i am taking time on the computer:) anyways, just wanted to say hello to everyone.

Yeah Melanie, that was fast.

I hope you ladies are doing well. I want to wish each of you a Merry Christmas just in case I don't make it back by the 25th!!!!!

Good luck with the clomid Melanie! Wow, what did the dr say?

Hi Susan!

Have a good trip Morris!

Merry Christmas to each of you ladies just in case I don't get on before then. I'm finally feeling normal again so I need to do my last minute shopping! Yikes! Have a wonderful Christmas!

Lisa

I left a message, but it didn't stick?

Yes, it was fast. My dr was supportive, she used Clomid for one of her kiddos. With DH turning 45, we're not going to try much longer. ;) We'll see what happens!

Just popping in to say HI Melanie and thanks for the BEAUTIFUL Christmas letter. I didn't realize that you were trying so hard for another - I'll be praying for you both!!! Noah is turning 4 tomorrow and it's been a "lifetime" ago that I was pregnant it seems, but for some reason I have this "feeling". Won't know until a week or two. We have been avoiding it as I'm REALLY happy with 6, but we weren't quite as "careful" as normal and of course I've given every last stitch of baby stuff away and I bother my oldest son that he needs to start mental preparation for many children so I can be a grandma one day. Oh my.......God does have interesting plans sometimes. Have a great day you TTCer's and preggers - and if there is a remote possibility that this "feeling" is anything...I'll join ya for a while:7 :7 :7

Briee

Briee!!! You've lite up my day! It's so good to hear from you! Little Justin turns four in January. It's difficult to believe. Is your little nephew still with you? How about all those puppies? LOL.
