Trying to lose 10 - The Weekend

Goodmorning 10 pound losers. (We hope!) It's Saturday morning and time to shore up our resolve for the weekend. After a mini-binge last evening, I'm prepared to eat better again. I'm going to do Amy Bento ASC2 in about an hour. Then we are headed to Scranton to visit DS. The organization that runs his home is having a Friends and Family get together today. After the party, which last year involved really bad pizza, we will take DS out shopping and for dinner. He needs new jeans again. The ones we bought him last year won't stay up. Yay for him! Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday. Try not to over indulge. Don't forget, many of you have to weigh in on Monday.

Good morning Robin and all!

I intend to be squeaky clean today because my sister and I are going out to eat tomorrow at a very unclean restaurant  }( :9 . I haven' had any sweets in 2 whole days now and, fortunately, I don't have any cravings either. I'm drinking plenty of water but I still need to eat more veggies -- I just don't feel hungry for them at all ;(

I'm doing a light cardio today -- probably a walking DVD -- and Jari Love's Get Ripped. I did this one the other day and I still have DOMS. I'll need to increase my weight load though, as I was able to match Jari in both weight and reps for everything except shoulders.

Robin, I hope you have a lovely day with your DS. How much weight has he lost? I can't get over how well he's doing!! You must be so proud of him. ;) :)

Hello Robin, Michelle and everyone who follows. I'm still sick--worst at night and first thing in the morning. Today I plan to do BBC Total Body but I'll see how I feel when my toddler naps. Right now I want to nap myself. I hope I get over this crud soon.

I managed eating pretty well yesterday, but already today I've had a leftover Halloween pb cup. Oops. It's emotional eating--DH is grumpy which makes me grumpy, etc. Silly, really. But now he's watching Goldfinger so hopefully James Bond will put him in a better mood. My 2-year old is also watching the movie with great fascination. The 5-year old is busy building a city or something in his room.

Robin, have fun with ASC2. I did the first 3 combos and liked them better than my attempts to do the original ASC.

Michele, I go through phases where I eat my veggies and then phases where it's such a chore to eat them. It did help when I bought a steamer so that it's easier to cook them in a healthy way. I just need to remember to use it more often.

OK, going to go watch a hunky young Sean Connery shoot at people and romance women.

Morning chiquitas!

I'm done my (almost) 8 mile run and my breakfast. My SO and I will be out and about today doing some errands and shopping, and then going to see American Gangster later. Hopefully that will keep me away from the danged Hallowe'en candy.

Robin - have fun with Tristan!

Michele - ooooh, your unclean meal sounds tempting!

Lainie - I hope DH loses the grumpiness and you start to get better soon!

Maeghan - don't worry about the ice cream! And have a wonderful day:)

I'm feeling really good about this challenge! Thanks for joining in. It's so much easier when there's someone there to kick your butt.

Everyone sounds like they are doing so good-all things considered!:)

I had a glass of vino last night and a small vodka/sugar free orangeade, which is like a screwdriver with fewer calories. These were spread out over about 4 hours time, so I feel fine this am. I did not snack when I drank these either, so that is good!:) My DH and I like to sit and talk on the porch outside for hours when no one is here, and having a cocktail together is nice sometimes:D I ate brussel sprouts, half of a tomato and two rice cakes with 3 ounces chicken breast for dinner though.

I did Kickbox/Legs/Core yesterday AM, and walked gently for an hour last night. My legs sorta hurt today, will do a cardio and the shoulder/arm combo from the new workouts this am. I am trying to do the November rotation.

I snuck a mini-Twix bar and only ate the top part-the creamy caramel stuff this am!x( I was being so good and sugar-free, until now. It really tasted sweet, kinda gross. The longer you stay away from the sugar the worst it tastes when you eat it-have to remember that right?

Have fun at the movies everyone, I heard that American Gangster is good, except Russell Crowe's New York accent is supposed to be pretty funny
:)

Did my run with my cousin and had a great time. We had some bichin hills too LOL!! Now I need to thaw out in the hot shower. Barely 40 degrees here!!
Not sure if I will have time for BBC today berfore work, but I will just catch up tomorrow!
Enjoy your days guys! You are all doing great!

I've been lurking your thread gals, but have been too lazy to join in. I've always been quite a failure at being consistent with a challenge check in. Just wanted to give you all ^5s for your efforts so far.

I'm also on the 10 pound quest. I started South Beach diet this past week just for something different (had always been a Weight Watchers gal). Phase one is kind of strict, so I was afraid of it impacting my daily workouts because of an expected crappy feeling from lower carbs. I have to say, that besides a very mild headache every now and then this week, I feel okay. I miss my fruit though!!

These are my famous last words..I'll *try* to post every now and then, but most likely I'll be lurking and being inspired by y'alls efforts.:D

A big welcome to you! Of course you can join in the "fun".:)

I tried the South Beach thing to see what it was all about-hated it.I just cannot follow a "program". But all my best to you:)

Hey girls! Happy Sunday!

Well, yesterday wasn't awful, but wasn't perfect either. I ate two little chocolate bars and had some popcorn (low fat, trans-fat free blah blah blah) while I watched a movie last night. Didn't go see American Gangster. We stayed home and watched Apocalypto instead. Very intense and disturbing.

I have lots of errands to do today and I'm hoping that being away from the house will mean I'll avoid the junk.

I think I'll do Butts and Guts later.

How's everyone else?

Hiya!!

I'll just say it up front -- this is going to be a terrible day in terms of my diet :p . I'm taking my sister out for dinner to a BBQ joint -- 'nuf said }( :9

I walked outside for my cardio yesterday. Amy Bento included a 128 BPM cardio mix CD in my preorder and I used that to keep pace. It was such a lovely day and I really enjoyed my walk in the sunshine. Last night I did Get Ripped and I was able to go a little heavier on the shoulder work than the last time :) . Today is a rest day -- yea!!!

I did NOT do better with my veggies yesterday x( . Lainie, I'm the same way. I go through phases where vegetables don't appeal to me, and of course, I tend to gain weight at those times. I was going to make a pot of soup yesterday but I ended up eating out instead. I ate clean -- no sweets or high fat foods -- just not enough vegetables.

I wish you all a happy Sunday and much success in your 10 # challenge.:)

Good Morning & Happy Sunday to all:

Today I did Amy Bento's Slo-Mo leg workout. A lot of new excercises, but not too "knee friendly" I may have to put this one aside if the old knees start twinging tonight or tomorrow. I am looking forward to the other 2 upper body workouts. I had a baby shower yesterday and did taste the cake and ice creamx( . It wasn't that good so I left more than half. Thank God! "I will not weigh myself till Thursday..I will not weigh myself till Thursday" I have to keep repeating that!

I too got the extra CD with the Slo-Mo workout and never thought to use it for outdoor walking! I will try to get it on my MP3 player.. never did this before.. I usually use I-Trains..

Deb;-)

Good morning all. The boys and I are relaxing in our pajamas today, watching a Harold & the Purple Crayon video. DH is in NYC for the Marathon--not running, just volunteering.

My eating was terrible yesterday. I don't know what has gotten into me lately--probably I could blame it on being sick, but really that's probably when it's most important that I eat healthy. I am determined to do better today. I'm still sick, but I have a little more energy so I should be able to take the time to eat better.

I also didn't get a workout in, since I felt so crappy. Today is normally my rest day but I am thinking about doing something later since I rested yesterday. I might do what I meant to do yesterday (BBC Total Body) or I might just pick something fun like one of my new step workouts.

Let's huddle up--1-2-3--10 pounds down!

*huddles up with Lainie*

I meant to mention that I will NOT be weighing in this week, because I'm descending into PMS, with its lovely attendant bloat, so by Friday I should look like 3 day old road kill in August. Getting on the scale would be ba-a-a-a-a-ad.

Yep, I just started my lovely period last night so will be spending the day with my heating pad and blankie!;) Whaaa, poor me.

I did just okay yesterday, I did do the LIS/Shoulders/Calves/Core last night-I actually nailed the first two combo's but that 3rd is tricky.

Shelley, you are so right, never weigh yourself during that week, a very bad idea. It actually takes me a few days into my period to lose that extra water weight, so Mondays weigh-in may not happen for me either, I think I may wait until Wednesday.

Everyone enjoy your weekend, eat your veggies girls!}(

Robin, I used to live in Wilkes Barre, PA, Scranton is right up the road, no?:) WB is a very strange place indeed.

I just completed BBC shoulders and back. I really liked this one. I LOVED the standing abs. I am surely gonna feel that tomorrow. I did not get my run in with my cousin this morning, because I got home at midnight from work, then the boys didn't sleep well, so I didn't sleep well. And she could only do it at 9.
SO, off to grocery store and then work after I shower. Gotta drop the boys off at their dads. Not really in the mood to deal with that, but I get the boys back after work. I atleast know the boys love it, so that is what is important.
Wow, I am babbling!
Lets all pray to the ice cream GOD, that she will leave me alone and not force me to eat the Ghiradeli Chocolate Chocolate Chip Ice Cream tonight at work!!!!!!!!

Happy Sunday, you losers!

Yay, TK stopped by. I met you at the roadtrip and am happy to see you here.

Megadoo, I know what you mean about the standing ab work. The first time I did it I didn't think it was worth the time, but the next days DOMS convinced me.

tneah, yeah, Scranton is right up the road from WB. What were you doing there? You're out west now, right? I enjoy evenings on the patio with my DH too. It's starting to get a bit too cold now, even with the fire pit.

Lanie, I hope you feel better soon.

Shelley, avoid the scale, by all means. Nothing is more discouraging then those stupid "fake" menstruel pounds.

Hi Michele. I'm glad you are getting together with your sister. Please tell her she is in my thoughts and prayers. All together, Tristan has lost 84 pounds since July of 06. I think he only has about 15 - 20 to go.

We had a great visit with Tristan yesterday. It's always fun to get together with other parents too. My eating was good. The pizza was cold, so I gave half of it to DH. I got a terrible case of indigestion right before dinner. Luckily, we were at the store and able to buy some Pepto. It subsided by the time we got to dinner, but I was careful with what and how much I ate. Today we've been too busy to eat, with churchy stuff and errands. I'm planning on making a salad for pizza night.

See you tomorrow. Good luck, all those who weigh in on Monday.
