Trying to get started after baby..

Hi guys! I have a 4mo beautiful daughter and I want to get into shape again. I have about 25 lbs to lose and I'm nursing. I was wondering what everyone did to get started again after they had babies. I was on bedrest for 6 weeks before DD was born so I feel really out of shape.

Of Cathe's workouts which has easier choreography? It's been awhile since I've done much step. Thanks!!

Congratulations!!! Glad mom & baby are doing well!

Easier choreography? Well, I'm a complex choreo. fanatic but for easier the Lower Intensity Step from 4Day Split is great. It's not hard to follow and very motivationg. LowMax is broke down very well too.

Don't forget to do weights!! That will really start to fry those pounds off!

Good luck! and ENJOY that baby! Can't wait for mine!

Congrats on the baby !! The lower impact step videos are usually easier in choreography or the kickboxing if you are interested in that like cardio kicks.

I had my little one 8 weeks ago. I am curious if anyone has had better results with doing weights verses cardio. I am a cardio fanatic and feel like if i dont do at least an hour a day I am not getting a good work out , which isnt true. I know its in my head. Just curious what people have found to work for them for the post baby pounds.

It sounds to me like you've been out of the game for while, with the bed rest, then delivery, etc.

What was your fitness level like before or during pregnancy? Knowing that will help us better advise you.

You definitely need to be careful, as you are breastfeeding. When my son was that age, I would just put him in the stroller around mid-morning and go for a walk (about 45 minutes). That was easy enough to do, and I definitely lost a few pounds.

You might want to look into getting the beginning stuff -- Basic Step, Body Fusion, and Total Body Strength.

HTH!

I have a 7 month old that I'm breastfeeding. Still working on getting body back. I got very out of shape while pregg. I did Cathe's beginner rotation to help me get back in the swing of things. Then I did a circuit rotation. Now I'm doing more weight workouts. Just take it slow. Do what you feel comfortable doing. Make suree your diet is right and you are getting plenty of water.
Good Luck

Farrah
