Morning Ladies -
This morning I did Angie Miller's Strength and Core Fusion. Workout was 70" and I burned 381 calories. I don't really feel like I had a very good workout. I wasn't sure how heavy to go, as I'd never done this before and I think I went too light.
This was yet another high rep workout. I'm so sick of the market being flooded with high reps. Where are all the 6-8, 8-10 rep workouts? I usually do drop sets when doing high reps and have a better workout...but I didn't do that today. Sometimes I'll go heavier and split the reps up into 2 sets. I got this workout cuz it got good reviews at Collage and someone said Angie reminded them of Cathe. I don't get irritated very often by instructors, but this instructor talked and talked and talked. Made me nuts. If I do this again, I'll probably play my own music and go heavier. Live and learn. One light day won't kill me .....I suppose!
All of that being said, which Cathe workouts have the lowest rep counts?
or what do you ladies use when you want to do a low rep, heavy weight workout?
I just read an article in a fitness magazine last week about rep training and this new way of training where you do one set of a weight exercise in a high rep range and one in the 6-8 range....etc. It's supposed to rev up your metabolism. Did anyone else read this?
Have great days everyone. Jen, Carrie, Yve????????where is everyone??? Seems we've lost everyone.
Kel - I always try to match Cathe's weight on workouts (except for legs cuz of my bulking problem) but I doubt I'll be doing that when STS comes out. I'll probably not be anywhere near her. I'm an ectomorph on top and truthfully, I don't think I have the musculature or genetic structure to ever lift super heavy no matter how long I workout or how hard I try! I hope this 1 Rep Minimum theory is pretty easy to use....as I'm stresin' over that also. It will be interesting to see what sort of weights will be "prescribed" for me and you for that matter....since you lift about what I do currently. Also, re: the Squat Rack. I suppose I'll give lifting heavy on my legs one last chance. Last time I did a 3 month leg rotation and went sort of heavy...my pants got tighter and I think I gained weight. Not sure if I gave it enough time and I"m not sure if I just built muscle under my fat and that's why my pants got tight. Not sure how I should train my legs. Wish I could talk to a professional about it. I'd like to hear their perspective on body weight exercises, light weight, versus heavy weight (the squat rack kind). I do think that some of those leg pictures look very good for my legs though. I really like working the legs with the paper plates/gliding discs. I think it's a very effective way to hit them differently.
Speaking of doing things differently....I'm due for a change up in my workouts since I'm hardly getting sore at all. Time to do that Cindy Crawford one again and look for some other "different" stuff to do.
