Trying to Fit Yoga In For Wed Oct 17

Morning Yogini's -

This morning I did Day 2 of the M&F Hers Time to Burn Fat Workout. I went thru the circuit 4 times instead of 3 times and added on an extra set of walking lunges - 30 reps, as well as an extra set of biceps and triceps in the last 2 circuits, as well as a set of DB chest presses. Used the stability ball for the plank holds and placed 5 pounds on my back for these. I think I might have had the weight plate too low on my back, as my low back feels achy now. For the cardio segment, I did 30 sec's super fast running on the Rebounder (got my HR up to 164) followed by 30 sec's jog on the Rebounder and repeated this 12 times and then did Gliding and Jogging for the last 10 minutes when it tells you to walk or jog and then cooled down for 5 minutes. Workout was 65" and I burned 546 calories. (my shoulder's really painful from doing all those pushups lately.....my injury side that acts up and my other side just has the sciatica pain running all the way up my back and into my head!! Lovely!!).

I then did 10 Min Solutions Rapid Results Pilates - Leg/Butt Segment 10" and the Pilates Stretch segment 10". I also did AM Yoga with Barbara Benagh - Gentle Wake Up segment 35".
Kel - I can't believe I've been doing (and starting to enjoy) such slow yoga practices.....although I confess, I do fast forward thru some of the slowness to get into the pose.....I'm not perfect!! Speaking of DB's, I really need 30# and 35 pounders....but have no money to purchase which I'm a bit bummed about, as I'm ready for 30's with some chest work and lat work.

Jen - I must be a bad Mom....cuz little Brookie's been bugging me in the middle of my workouts lately wanting attention and I've had to ignore her. I did box with her during my cardio workout yesterday cuz she came up on the chair all excited when she saw me going back and forth across the room (cuz she thought I was kickboxing). So i played with her a bit. My DH finally saw her sitting on the edge of the dining room table as I was doing high jumps on the Rebounder -- and Brookie gets up on her hind legs and tries to bat at me waving her paws madly in the air. Wish I had a video camera....it's quite funny. She's a little crazy girl! Yes........I NEED more beach workouts. Wish I could find some cardio beach workouts.

Speaking of workouts, I ordered another Caribbean Pilates DVD last night from Amazon, as well as Progressive Pilates with Liz Gilles, Rael Pilates, and the new Shape Pilates with the band one. They were all relatively cheap....some were only $4 or so.

Hi everyone! This morning, I started doing a premix on KPC/L&G that I've never done before but it ended up having a lot more cardio in it than I wanted so I stopped it after the cardio "blast" section & started L&G. After that, I added the abs & called it a workout. Tonight, I plan to work upper body again & do some yoga since my DH has another meeting.

Oh my goodness, I am SO tired today. That's really why I haven't been around before now. I just haven't had much to say. I'll probably fall asleep during the relaxation portion of my yoga tonight - LOL. I had actually thought about taking a live class (Yin Yoga, from 6:30 to 7:30) but I'm just too tired. I've really been wanting to check that particular class out but I know that once I get home, I won't want to go back out. So I guess I'll just do my yoga at home.

Lora - Great workout again... of course! Thanks again for the info on that yoga tape have coming. It sounds wonderful. Have you gotten your new Cathe DVDs yet?

Yve - Hope you enjoyed your yoga class & meditation last night. I think I may add on the meditation section from Yoga for Stress Relief, regardless of which main routine I choose to do. Back when I was doing yoga a lot more, I was really starting to enjoy meditaion a lot more too.

Jen - Wow, 100 reps in addition to whatever you're already doing?!? Sounds tough! I guess you & I are in the same boat with the new Cathe workouts since we both ordered a bit late. Oh well, at least we'll know what we're in for long before we get ours - LOL! Oh yeah... thanks for your kind words about the playground project!

Hi ladies! Tonight's WO was Slim & Lean Shoulders (overhead press and lateral raise) twice through, followed by 100 reps of the lateral raise. I was not scheduled to do cardio or abs tonight, but since I missed my cardio yesterday, I added on 20 mins of Prevention Personal Trainer cardio portions. I got my shipping notice for the DVDs, so mine will be delivered on Friday! I probably will preview them but not do them for awhile. I am in a leaning out phase so I will continue with endurance reps for the remainder of this rotation (2 weeks) then move on to cardio and circuits mixed in with some pilates and yoga. After that, it may be time to lift heavy again. (Would like to get in one last good heavy rotation before getting pregnant...fingers crossed.)

Lora-How did your doc appt go? Your new DVDs sound good and sounds like you got them for a steal! I will be interested in your review of Progressive Pilates. There is an advertisement for that DVD on some workouts that I own and it peaked my interest. That is so cute about Brookie..sounds like she loves working out with you! Lenny likes to come and lie down with me during the relaxation portion of yoga. He leaves me alone for most of the workout, but he comes to my workout room from anywhere in the house when he "knows" that I am lying down on my yoga mat. I have no idea how he knows. I have heard that animals are so smart...can predict places of cancer or when a seizure is about to occur. I almost wonder if he senses the relaxation or maybe a lower blood pressure.
 
Kel-Hope you made it through your yoga tonight! That sounds like a killer premix of KPC & L&G. I have never done that one. How did you like it (besides too much cardio...:eek: )? The 100 reps actually did sound a bit easy to me at first, but doing them is a totally different story. I have had DOMS everyday (today it's hamstrings and low back) so it is most certainly working things differently. Sorry to hear you're so tired. DH & I both went to work late this morning...which we haven't done in YEARS..because we just couldn't get our butts in gear! Do you think it's weather related or do you think it's the intensity of your workouts? How long has it been since you have taken a recovery week? You've been doing so much work on the weekends in addition to your workouts.....you've got to get that vacation in soon!
 
Yve-Enjoy your Pilates! Hope you have a nice dinner out! It's so nice to have a break from cooking every now and then. Where are you going for dinner? Hope the client you and DH are taking to dinner is a nice and lively one :D and not the longest hour of your evening! }( Entertaining can be a lot of work if you have to be the one to keep up the conversation all evening.
