Cathlete
Morning Ladies -

this morning I did day 2 of the M&F Hers Time To Burn Fat Rotation.

Warm Up - Walk or Bike 3 min - I jogged on the Rebounder
Walking Lunges - 30 steps - used dumbbells

Circuit A - Repeat 3 times -- but I did 4 times
Jump Rope - 30 seconds - I did high jumps on the Rebounder
Push Up into DB Row 10 per side
Medicine Ball Jump Squats - 30 seconds
Biceps - Supinated DB Curls - 10 reps
Triceps Rope Pressdown - 10 reps - used my blue band and door attachmt
Back Extensions - 10 reps - did these on the Stability Ball
Plank - hold 30 seconds - used my stability ball and put 5 pounds on my back
Exercise Ball Pull In's - 10 reps
(I added another set of walking lunges at the end of these circuits)

Circuit B
Sprinting on Treadmill or Track - 30 seconds sprint- 30 seconds rest and repeat 12 times - I did fast running, football drills on the Rebounder with high knee runs and did not rest between sets. I did 12 sets
Walk or Jog - 10 minutes - I got bored here, so I broke out my Gliding Discs and Glided freestyle for 10 minutes and it was fun.
Cool Down - walk - 5 min

Workout was 67" long and I burned 502 calories. Not sure how accurate that count is cuz my HRM resting heart rate is not really set as low as it should be. I forgot to do it and was up and moving around for a while when I set it. This was fun. The Gliding part made it have good variety and I went thru the circuit 4 times instead of 3 cuz I had it in me. I also added an additional set of walking lunges.

I then did 2 stretch segments from Perfect in 10 Stretch and Namaste Yoga - Revolved Triangle session 23".

Yve -sorry to hear you feel like you are getting sick. I hope it's just allergies. My asthma and sinuses have been horrible. I haven't been able to smell for days. I have my 3 month appt with the sinus doctor this afternoon. I'll probably get placed on antibiotics and prednisone for a treatment.

Hi to everyone else.

I just got Budokon Flow & Flexibility and was previwing this morning. It looks like it will have a real learning curve and still not sure how to categorize it. The poses look rather challenging (beyond my level) and the martial arts part is short -- about 20 minutes or so....but it loooks like it will be a real leg burner. Not sure how to fit it into my week. I'm afraid if I do it on my rest day, I won't be able to Spin or Sunday from all the crouching leg work.

Hi everyone. Sorry I was MIA yesterday. Just busy & also feeling a bit "blah". Yesterday morning, I did KPC in its entirety. I rarely do that full workout so I really enjoyed it. This morning, I did Jari's Ripped Slip & Lean. I hadn't done that one before. I really enjoyed it & I also felt like I got a great workout from it too.

Still no yoga.:( I do my "regular" workouts in the mornings during the week & can't seem to find the time to do it in the evenings. I also can't do it at work anymore because I'm in a cubicle & there is one co-worker who doesn't go to lunch right away so I feel a little self-conscious & can't get focused or relaxed enough to do it. My DH will be out of town one evening next week so I KNOW I will be able to do it then. I would also love to take a class but can't seem to work it out in the evenings. Life is just very busy for us right now.

Lora - I am SO sorry to hear about how your interview went yesterday. I can't believe they would do that to you! Hope you find something soon. The workout you did this morning sounds like fun. Which issue was this rotation in? If it's in the current one, I might just need to run out & buy it.

Yve - Sounds like your Thanksgiving meal went great! Glad you & your family had such a nice time. I'm sorry that you feel like you might be getting sick but like Lora said, hopefully it's just allergies. I am SO jealous of you taking yoga classes so often but I'm also glad you have the time to take them. I wish I could fit it into my life but I just can't work it out right now. Maybe someday...

Jen - Glad you're still enjoying your Jari one body part rotation. I've been enjoying doing her workouts this week too & it's been a nice change of pace. That restorative yoga practice sounds good too. Glad you were able to fit it in.

Christine - Hi if you pop in later. I saw that picture you posted of Jimmy in his cone. It was hilarious... bless his furry little heart!:7

Well, I am feeling extremely unmotivated again today. I guess I really need a break... from everything. But I better try to get something accomplished since I'm here. Hope everyone has a great day & I'll try to pop back in later to see what's up. Take care!:)

Kel - it's in the July/Aug issue....but when I was grocery shopping last week, I looked for the new one and this one was still on that stand. Sorry you are not feeling very motivated and you haven't been able to fit yoga in.

f anyone is interested in another book circuit workout.........I just got Cindy Whitmarsh's Ultrafit - Challenging Workouts Amazing Results. I was reading it at my sinus doc appt this afternoon. It looks amazing. It has 3 total workout plans, stages 1-3. I was looking at stage 3. It looks tough. She even has cardio workouts mapped out, on the bike, stairs, Extreme Jump rope, Sprint intervals, etc. The weeks are all mapped out and each week has 4 weighted circuits - day 1 chest, back, legs and core training and day 2 is shoulders, biceps, triceps and core. She also adds in cardio intervals and plyometrics, as well as a stretch workout. Then it goes into water consumption for the day and nutritional information. Looks very good and challenging. I'll probably be doing this in the future. The book is relatively inexpensive on Amazon Marketplace.

I got placed on prednisone from the sinus doctor. Was in for my 3 month check and haven't been able to smell for the past week. He still tells me I need surgery.........and now he's making me return in 1 month! Polyps suck.

I got my 3 new Yoga Journal practices today. I only had a chance to view part of the Seane Corne one...........they are all 90" long. I don't remember reading that when I ordered them......yikes......looks like I need to start figuring out where I can fit an hour and a half.

Hi ladies,

Busy busy day today. I haven't had time to take a walk - but will be going to pilates later this evening.

Lora - Another amazing workout. 502 calories burned is really something. So do you like your new HRM? I am sorry to hear that you have been having such a hard time with your allergies also. Hopefully the first frost will come soon - and we will both feel better. Which dvds did you get from amazon? I remember you mentioned Seane is one of the dvds you are getting. Is it her new one?

Kel - I am sorry you aren't feeling yourself. You have had so much to do lately - it is understandable that you may be getting tired. Nice that you got to do KPC - and also Jari Love. I see what you mean about it being difficult to focus in the cubicle. Hopefully you will be able to take a class next week. I am able to take classes bc I work out of a home office. The fact that I am not commuting into the city every day is a savings of about 2.5-3hrs out of my day. Although it can be lonesome sometimes, it allows me alot of freedom. Don't worry about not being able to fit it in right now. You are doing your best with the time you have. We all go through busy times in our lives where something falls by the way side. Hopefully things will slow down soon - and you will be able to enjoy your yoga practice once again.

Jen - Boy you have been putting in long hours. I know your work is HR related. Is it cyclical type work whereby you go thru busy seasons - or do you have alot of projects on the go?

Christine - Hope you are having a good day.

Take care ladies,
Yve

Hi Lora. I keep forgetting to tell you that a guy I work with had that surgery & he's doing really well with it. I thought he just had very severe allergies & was stopped up a lot but after I commented one time, he told me he had polyps & was going to have surgery. He wanted to have it earlier in his life (I think he's in his 50s now) but had other obligations (children, work, etc.). Last time I spoke with him, he was very pleased with his results.

I looked at those Yoga Journal DVDs & decided not to purchase them for that reason. I think the site says that the practices can easily be broken down into shorter sessions, though, so hopefully you can do that & get more use out of them. Let me know what you think once you get a chance to do them or preview them more extensively.

Well, I'm just sitting here listening to my co-worker whisper & hum with his headphones on. Grrr!!! That is SO annoying! I've nicely said something to him about it a couple of times in the past & it doesn't help a bit. All it does is make him mad & then he gives me the silent treatemnt. How immature (by the way, the man is in his mid-50s)! I've also said something to our supervisor & all he says is "well, you know how moody George is." Huh?!? Anyway, I thought that's what headphones were for anyway... so a person could listen to his or her music in privacy, without bothering others. I don't know what else to do about it but I know it bugs the crap out of me. I mean, why on earth does he put his headphones on & then whisper, hum, & make other ridiculous noises?!? Unless he's actually TYRING to annoy me? Some days, I leave here with my back, neck, & shoulders in one big knot because I don't feel like I have any recourse. Anyway, thanks for listening to me rant & if any of you has any advice, it would be much appreciated.

I'm so unmotivated here... I'm just waiting for 5 today. I hope I feel better tomorrow. Hope you all have a great evening & I'll try to check back in later if I can.

Take care!:)

Hi Yve! I guess we were posting at the same time. Thanks for your kind comments. Sometimes I feel like an imposter in the Yoga Check-In thread but you're right about how busy I am... & I realize that it is only for a time in my life so I'm sure I will be able to fit in LOTS of yoga someday in the future. I hope you enjoy pilates tonight!
:)

Hi Ladies!

I did Cardio Fusion up to the Drill Max part, then finished with RY’s Power Yoga for Flexibility. With my half coming up, I’m taking it easier and doing yoga every day to keep flexible.

Lora – What a workout! I’d be hobbling! I have always been interested in the Budokon workouts, but the first ones that came out seemed so simplistic. The new ones seem to be way beyond a lot of people. Did you get just this one, or did you get all 3?

Kel – I could not tell you the last time I did all of KPC. Might have to do that next week! Sounds like fun. Hope you get to do yoga soon! Sometimes I need a hibernation day – where I curl up at home, don’t work out, do the bare minimum with work, and just do nothing. Sounds like you could use one of those. Thanks for the comment on Conehead the Australian. He such a goofy dog. He’s much better now – I go home over lunch (nice to work 2 miles from my office!) and we played Frisbee today. He is all full of bounce and craziness, so that’s good. Sorry about your co-worker – that would drive me batty!

Yve – sorry you’re so busy! Glad you’ll be getting in a pilates workout!

Have a great day all!

Christine - I just got the one Budokon cuz it sounded like the easiest. It is quite advanced. I tried a few of the postures and was laughing at myself. It's definitely a leg workout from what I see....thus the reason I'm afraid to do it on my so called "rest" day. It looks a bit confusing with the Kung Fu moves....but there's a tutorial.....but I probably will just try to follow it first. I'm eyeing the Power & Agility one but the one review on VF states that the Kung Fu parts in that one are very complex. (I think Brookie and Jimmy would be a real hoot together.....cuz she's a little crazy/goofy girl too. She kept trying to "get me" when I was working out this morning. First - she stood on the top of the back of the chair and batted at me in the air as I did high jumps on the REbounder and then she followed me over to the stability ball and sat on the edge of that chair and put her paws up to box....yes, she likes when I do kickboxing and box with her. She's a trip). Her and Jimmy together would be something to see!!

Yve = the new Budokon DVD I got is from Amazon, but the 3 new Yoga DVDs I rec'd are from www.YogaJournal.com (store). One is with Seane Corn...one is with Shiva Rea and one is with Baron Baptiste. They were filmed live at a conference in San Francisco. I'll keep you posted.
Kel - sorry you have annoying co-workers. Sounds like my DH with his headphones on..........LOL!!

Thanks for the review, Lora! I can't wait to see what you think when you actually try it. I did read the reviews on Videofitness, and I think some of the martial arts moves are true martial arts fighting techniques - which has my interest piqued. I took Tae Kwon Do, Judo and Krav Maga. I miss using my body that way. But holy cow, some of the moves look like they are totally killer! I guess I'll have to order one. I agree that Brookie and Jimmy would have a blast together! That would be so fun to get them together.

Hi ladies! Sorry to be short yet AGAIN! Tonight's WO was Get Ripped triceps twice through. I received Killer Kicks w/ Violet Zaki from Netflix, so I did it. Yawn. I did all of it, but I am sending it back to Netflix tomorrow-it had a very short stay! It's a very slow moving workout. Too bad since there was potential there-I really like Violet. Lenny's chemo treatment is tomorrow so I have got to hit the shower and get in bed so I can get him dropped off before work.

Have a great night everyone! I WILL catch up soon!
