Trying to Fit Yoga in for Wed April 11

Morning Yogini's -

I ended up doing Barry's Arms & Abs plus the non-treadmill cardio. I added on 10 minutes of cardio from the Biggest Loser with Bob and then I was going to do Bar Method, but did Cardio Barre instead - which was 40 minutes of a waste of time. Not near as effective as Lotte, Fluidity or Bar Method! I also did Yoga Beauty Body with Ravi & Ana 45". Total workout without the Barre & Yoga was 1 hour 14 minutes and I burned 373 calories...........however, it doesn't really matter what the heck I burned today, as nothing can redeem me from the 3 cookies I ate yesterday (large cookies with icing ......yummmm.......but ugh!!!). The last of my Easter splurge (I hope).

Have great workouts everyone.

Meg - good for you getting to do Dawn! Glad you liked it. How did you do with the belly pumping? Weird, huh? But it works well if you have a stomach ache!

Yve - where did ya go? I'm beginning to think you got your sleeping oils and they worked a little too well!! LOL!

Jen - I'll let you know how the Squeeze workout is when I get it. Hopefully my new Tracey's will be here today! I don't know why I haven't gotten them already. Others have been getting them and I ordered as soon as they were available.

Good thing I don't have real kids -- the kind without 4 legs and fur! I've taken a zillion pictures of Brooklyn and I just think she's the cutest thing on the planet! I'd probably be one of those nauseating parents who thinks no other kid is as good looking as theirs and would be obnoxiously showing pictures and talking about her!!! YOY!!! What a picture, huh??? I just smile every time I glance at her. I can't believe HOW freakin' ATTACHED I've become to her in this short period of time. She's feeling better today. She was running around this morning at her usual 4:30 am 5:00 am time and now she's passed out. I don't know about myself though. I think I may be turning into a cardio hater all of a sudden. I'm still having trouble getting my intensity to a good level and it feels like too much effort! Don't know what is going on. Maybe it's those 3 large cookies I ate yesterday weighing me down today! but then what's my excuse for every other day lately?? this is so not like me.

Hi Ladies,

I am so sorry I haven't checked in for a while. Life is soo busy right now. SO and I are trying to find a place to live - trying to get stuff done for the wedding - I have a big project at work that has to be done for next week - so - just very spinny these days!

Tonight is pilates night. My instructor has just finished 3 weekend workshop for feltengrais - so who knows what will be in store for us tonight!!

Lora - LOL re the sleeping oils....You can tell us Brooklyn stories anytime. She sounds so spunky.

Meg - that is great that you were able to get the little ones down - and enjoy some time to yourself for working out AND yoga!

Jen - This is my favourite recipe for tiramisu. It is from the Williams-Sonoma website and have made it several times. If you don't want to use espresso coffee - you can use dark roast brewed coffee - or decaff... and if you don't want to use rum - you can use some extra vanilla extract... I use a mix of kahlua and amaretto. This tastes best when you make it one day ahead of time - so the cheese and cream can set nicely.

Tiramisù

6 egg yolks
3/4 cup sugar
1 lb. mascarpone cheese, softened
2 cups chilled heavy cream
2 Tbs. rum
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 Tbs. plus 2 to 3 cups brewed espresso
5 egg whites
40 to 50 ladyfingers
Cocoa powder for dusting

In a mixing bowl set over a pan of simmering water but not touching the water, whisk the egg yolks and sugar until the mixture is pale yellow and thick ribbons fall from the whisk, 4 to 5 minutes. Transfer the mixture to the bowl of an electric mixer. Add the mascarpone cheese and beat until smooth and creamy, 2 to 3 minutes.

In a chilled large mixing bowl, whisk the cream until stiff peaks form. Add the rum, vanilla and the 2 Tbs. espresso and whisk until smooth.

In a clean mixing bowl, whisk the egg whites until stiff peaks form. (When the whisk is lifted straight out of the bowl and inverted, the whites should hold their shape.)

With a rubber spatula, gently fold the mascarpone mixture into the cream until blended and smooth. Add about 1 cup egg whites and fold gently until blended. Add the remaining egg whites and fold gently until the mixture is smooth and blended.

One at a time, submerge the ladyfingers into the 2 to 3 cups espresso. Lay enough ladyfingers on the bottom of a 6-quart glass or ceramic baking or serving dish (about 2 inches deep) to form a single layer. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers until evenly covered. Arrange another layer of ladyfingers over the mascarpone cream, then spread the remaining mascarpone cream evenly over the top. Dust the tiramisù with cocoa powder to create a rich, dark topping. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or up to 1 day before serving. Serves 12 to 15.

Have a nice evening everyone.

Hi ladies! Tonight's WO was Push/Pull Upper Body 3 sets Premix. I had never done this premix before and it was super-tough! I ran out of time, so I will have to add on abs to tomorrow's WO. Got home late again....story of my life. At least my Jari Love DVDs came today! :) Did you see all the new projects Cathe has in the works in the ask Cathe forum? Holy sh*t! I can't wait for her new stuff-it all sounds really good!

Lora-You are cracking me up! Glad Brooklyn is back to normal and you are enjoying her so much! Has Hollywood warmed up to her any more?

Yve-Thanks so much for the recipe. My family also likes Tiramisu, so I am sure if I bring it to the next family gathering, it would be a huge hit!

Have a great night!

Jen
