Trying to Fit Yoga in for Tues March 20

Morning Part Time Yogini's -


This morning I did Speedybody Full Body followed by Tae Bo Celebrity Fit Sculpt and then I added on a 10 minute stretch from a Denise Austin DVD (one thing she is excellent at is stretches!!). Workout was 1 hour and 35 minutes and I burned 495 calories.

I also did 30 minutes of Kundalini Yoga.....Ravi & Ana's AM Yoga. Even did the chant at the end the DH was gone to work. It was for opening up the chakras.......figured it couldn't hurt! I feel a little less depressed today and I remember him saying something like this session would help keep negativity at bay and make me shine in the universe. Don't know if I'm shining though!

Jen - sorry that you are still stressed out and tired from work. Again, I reiterate......I'm not looking forward to those days. I tried to get up at 2:00 am today to practice for work and I didn't get out of bed 'till 3:15. It's gonna be brutal when I go back! Speaking of jobs, I applied for one at the University in town yesterday. However, if someone from the inside applies for it, they would have to give it to them first. I also applied for a Medical Receptionist job but I haven't done front desk for 18 years.....and it's not even on my resume, so doubt they'll call me. Again, they'll opt to hire a younger person so they could pay them less........ugh!

I was sore when I woke up this morning and didn't think I could do this Speedbody workout again.....but once my adrenaline got going, I was okay. I'm determined to do it 5 days in a row but I may need to lighten my weights the last 2 days. I've been lifting sort of heavy for the past few. I'm icing my shoulders right now.

Have great workouts ........I have some things to do around here, but I'll be around later.
 
Hi ladies! Tonight's WO was Gym Style Back and Biceps. I was supposed to do abs too but I forgot, so I will just add them on to the end of the cardio I do tomorrw. Tomorrow is my "friday"-I am off of work Thu, Fri, and Monday for a long weekend. Have to go back to the dentist on Thu :( for my tooth-by-tooth examination that was not done at the time of the cleaning. He also will be recommending some things to improve my smile. I have not been happy with it for years. I chipped my front tooth when I was younger-I was riding my bike and fell off of it and flat on my face!!!! When the dentist repaired it, he did a good job (it has lasted this long) but the repaired place is a different color than the rest of my teeth. The dentist said technology has improved a lot since then and they can match it up better now, so he'll have some options for me.

Lora-My YBBs came in today! Yea! :) :) I have the first series, the Live series and the Advanced series. So exciting! :) Glad to see you got some Kundalini in...was wondering when you would work it back in since it seems to work so well for you. My friend finally did Ravi and Ana's this weekend and really loved it. I am glad you are feeling better today! I am feeling better, too. I am not sure what the difference was, but I did make one change today. I had protein (about 3 oz of salmon) for a snack prior to my WO instead of fruit & nuts. I felt more energetic and had a better workout. Maybe I should up my protein intake while I am doing this heavy weight training rotation? That could be my problem all along...protein was too low. Do you have any insight on this? With a vegetarian diet, do you have trouble meeting your protein needs? What types of protein do you usually eat? Good luck with the jobs you applied for! What did the University job entail? That seems like it would be an interesting work environment.

Hi ladies,

I am sorry I haven't checked in for a while. My computer is behaving very funny - If I leave it on for too long - the monitor starts doing funny things and the cursor/arrow turns into a hundred arrows over the screen. It is time for a new one - its just a time thing to go out and find one.

I went to restorative practice last night - and did Step Blast this morning.

The weekend dress shopping went well. Mom bought a dress - We went to 3 stores - and she found something that looked nice on her. I then went out to dinner with mom and dad. We hadn't done that in a long time. I am not sure if I have mentioned it - but she has had both her knees replaced in the last 2 years - and is doing a fair bit better. Yesterday - however - she slipped and fell - and hurt her shoulder - and bumped her head on the wall. She had quite the bump - but put a bag of frozen veggies on it and it went down a bit. It is so worrisome bc of her arthritis/osteoporosis. Tkfully it wasn't more serious.

Lora - The yummy yoga sounds interesting. The concept sounds alot like the feltengrais/pilates mix that my instructor teaches - learning to release muscles, breathing to let the release etc.
How is Pandora feeling?

Jen - Is the year-end work almost there? It has been a long haul.
What sort of yard work were you doing on Sunday? It will be another month until I will be doing yard work - it is still -4 degrees celsius here in T.O!! I really can't wait - gardening -though hard on the body is really good for the soul!
