Trying To Fit Yoga In for Tues Jan 1

Morning Ladies -

This morning I did Prevention Fight Cellulite Interval Cardio and Turbo Jam Fat Blaster. Workout was 70" and I burned 674 calories.

I also did Yoga - Go Deeper with Paula Tursi 45".

Have a Happy New Years and great workouts today. We're going to see Saw IV at the dollar theatre later.
 
Goodness, you're up early this morning! I slept in today so I'll get my workout in later.

Hi Lora-would you mind if you had another yoga-ite join in the group?

I have practiced yoga awhile back, mostly ashtanga. Then I quit and became a cardio freak. I am currenly following a p90x classic rotation, I am in Phase 3. Doing p90x has renewed my love of yoga, and it's importance in a rotation. I have seen such amazing gains, that now I am totally committed. I am not sure why I ever left.

I have Bryan Kest, Ali McGraw (old but good), and Baron Baptiste. I am ordering Mark Blanchard--have you ever done his yoga? I was reading about some yoga you were doing for hip openers? I love the thought of releasing all the old toxins from that area.

My favorite poses would be sun salutaions/vinyasas, pigeon pose, plank, and lots of the standing forward bends. Really loosens up the hamstrings. Much needed.

Well, I guess that is enough about me. Looking forward to meeting everyone is the group and getting some recommendations!

Hi ladies,

No workout for me today - getting ready to drive up north to my brother's home. (1 hour drive - but have to pick up my parents first) It's my nephew's bday today. Will catch up with you all tomorrow.... Back at work - and thankfully - to a more normal routine.

Hi everyone. BAck from the movie. Saw IV wasn't as good as the other ones....but it only was a dollar for the movie.

Welcome Carrie - I'm so excited to have another new member added to our small group. As I said before, these ladies here are wonderful. Some of the best cyber friends you could ask for. They really do CARE about you and what's going on in your life..........and always have great advice. We talk about everything....not just yoga. I own ALL of Mark's stuff. I love him, but as I mentioned yesterday, I don't usually do his practices that often....as I've been doing easier yoga lately. I do enjoy doing a Blanchard practice in place of a weight day ....but they are a bit too strenuous for my rest days. I usually only have time to do yoga on the weekends.......but I keep saying that some day, I'm going to work more Pilates and yoga into my regular week's workouts .....as soon as I lose those last 10 pounds!! LOL. Speaking of P90X....the last time I did a 90 minute Mark Blanchard was during a P90X rotation and I was doing more than the rotation called for....i.e, extra cardio, no rest days, etc. Anyway, I did Kenpo X (my style....which was super amped up cuz I don't find it challenging enough) and then I did Mark Blanchard 90" practice and at one point during the practice, we had been balancing on one leg for about 10 minutes and my legs were weeblin and a wobbling. I remember finishing that session and my legs were still shaky!!

Yes, I love practices with lots of hip openers...as I tend to store a tremendous amount of stress in my hips and I'm sure they are full of toxins. I've also become addicted to shoulderstand and plough ever since I learned that Kundalini yogi's believe that shoulderstand done with breath of fire (a Kundalini yoga breathing technique) is the Fountain of Youth and will keep you young..................I guess I'm very vain and in the midst of a midlife crisis!

I plan on doing a P90X rotation once my P90X plus order gets here...but my DH is doing a rotation right now....so I have to wait until he finishes before I start.

I'm debating starting an Afterburn or NROL for Women rotation soon. Not sure yet. Need to review the books.
 
Hi Carrie! I just joined this group the other day! Lora's been very helpful with suggestions for other instructors for me (thanks Lora!).

I didn't get my workout in today :-( Before I was dressed this morning, my SIL called. As they were heading back to WY their car broke down just south of where we live. So I picked them up and brought them here. I'm heading out of town Thursday morning and will be very busy tomorrow so I've been scrambling all day long to get things done! Today is a day I could really use some yoga...maybe before bed tonight I'll do Sarah Ivanhoe's Candlelight Yoga. I hate working out in front of others so maybe I'll go into the computer room and do it there.
