Trying to Fit Yoga In for Thursday June 28

Morning Ladies -

This morning I did Prevention's Fight Cellulite Fast - Interval Cardio workout. I repeated the last couple segments to make it longer. It also has a 15 minute leg workout on it - so I did only the parts of that workout that were different than traditional squats and lunges (since I'm doing those in Jillian's circuits). Cardio and brief leg segment was 1 hour and 19 minutes and I burned 552 calories. I had an excellent cardio workout. Really pushed the intervals and got my HR up to 163. I then did Rapid Results Pilates - Waist Slimmer Ab segment with my Pilates Ring and Yoga for Urban Living 35" Morning Quickie routine. (wanted to do the full 60" yoga on that DVD - but since I have to go grocery shopping - I didn't really have that much time).

Jen - Don't be discourgaed about your weight. I'm sure as long as your consistent with your workouts - you'll continue to be successful with your goals. I've hard good things about Barry's Bootcamp series breaking a lot of people's plateaus. Maybe the short (20-25 minute) cardio with the high rep weight segments in Barry's would be a good plateau breaker for you. I've also heard that sometimes eating a slightly different amount of calories each day (zig zagging) is a beneficial plateau breaker (read about this theory in Jillian's book). Hang in there.

Yes - the fruit thing upsets me. I read about it in the little booklet that came with my Firm DVDs. It says bananas are a high sugar fruit. I din't know that they were and I had been eating 1-2 a day. I am going to cut back to 2-3 pieces of fruit a day and I'm stopping bananas.

Why don't you try Kick It -- I've always liked Janis' kickboxing. Maybe you can overlook the production quality? Her husband - Guillermo has South Beach Box out and the production quality isn't the greatest ....but it's a good workout.

Did you get your Prevention DVD yet? I think I know it well enough now that I could use my own music if I wanted to. You might get annyoed with the instructor's comments about getting rid of cellulite. I think she mentions it a few times.

Kel - How much cardio are you dong in a week that you're sick of it? How many rental porperties do you and your DH have? Is it profitable? and how much work is it to maintain them? I hope you are able to fit some yoga in soon. I hate when life is too busy that you can't fit in yoga!

Anyone hear of Superfeet Green Inserts or your shoes? They are supposed to be good for plantar fasciitis and other foot problems.

Have great workouts ladies. I've got to eat breakfast, do my neck stretches and then I'm going grocery shopping.

Hi Lora, Jen, & anyone else who peeks in too!

This morning, I did Supersets & enjoyed it thoroughly as the only completely non-cardio workout I will do this week. I may try to fit in some yoga during lunch today but I'm pretty hungry so I may go right down to the lunchroom & eat... I don't know yet. Tonight, my DH & I will be going to a free outdoor concert downtown & I'm looking forward to having fun with our friends. We'll probably go out to eat too so it should be a really nice evening for us... unless it rains, which we need but I'd rather it hold off until after the concert.

Jen - I hope your weigh-in goes well. Like Lora said, try not to get discouraged about it. Have you enjoyed the current rotation you're doing? I think my body is responding well the the extra cardio I'm doing this week but it's hard to tell because it's also the week before TTOTM & I always gain at least 5 pounds of water retention weight. I also think I do okay with the 2 circuits, 2 cardios, & 1 total body weight rotation I normally do so I'll probably go back to that next week. I just switched it up this week because I had that doctor's appointment on Tuesday & was able to do something much longer than normal. Oh, by the way, I have Janis Saffel's Kick It & I agree about the production quality but I have enjoyed the floor kickboxing section in the past. I haven't done that one in awhile... maybe it's time to pull it back out.

Lora - Wow! Great workout! Oh my, I didn't realize that about bananas. I usually eat one every morning because I have a lot of problems with foot & toe cramps & I heard you should eat bananas for that kind of problem. Maybe I should give them up too, in order to achieve some better results? This week, I did 3 days of pure cardio, 1 day of weights with cardio, & only 1 days of just weights. I know that doesn't sounds like a lot, especially to those of you who like cardio, but it was too much for me... not enough fun-factor for me because I prefer weight training over cardio... WAY over cardio. I hope to fit some yoga in soon too... I can tell I'm tight & my body is really in need of it. RE: our rentals - we have 21 units, 4 of which are commercial, & 14 are works-in-progress. Yes, they are profitable or I guess I should say that they cash-flow positively & they really don't require much to maintain. The only thing we've been involved in recently is fixing up the 14-unit complex we acquired last year but it's going well & we're finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel too. The only other setback is when somebody moves out or needs to be evicted. Other than that, it's not too bad really. Sorry, I don't know anything about Superfeet Green Inserts or plantar fasciitis but I hope you find something to help with that.

Well, I better get back to it since it's almost lunchtime. I hope you ladies have a great day & I'll check back later...
