Trying to Fit Yoga in for Sunday March 11

Morning Yoga Ladies -

This morning I did FIT Training with Keli Roberts (40") and then Celebrity Fit Tae Bo for a total of 70". I burned 420 calories. I really liked this Tae Bo. When he taught the moves single timed, I double timed them and jogged in between segments and had a great workout. I also did Intermediate Yoga with Stephanie.

This yoga practice did not seem very Intermediate to me. It was very beginner like. It's TTOTM and I have a migraine and pain...so it was a nice easy practice to do today. Not anything special.

The Keli Roberts workout is a functional fitness workout with speed/agility drills. I only previewed part of it last night. The beginning) and she was wearing a heart rate monitor and kept saying her heart rate was in the 160's....so I was psyched....but when I did it ...my HR was only in the 130's....then I did a couple of the drills longer than her and kept running in between and got my HR up a bit higher...but I ended up taking this out 40 minutes into in when she went down to the floor for ab work. So -- I need to preview this again, but it looks like the focus is on the core. Each drill had a medicine ball segment, weighted segment and a speed/agility drill and then core work, etc. I know functional fitness workouts are important, but for some reason I'm always in the mood for more traditional training.

Have great days everyone. I'll be back later. We're going to the cheapo theatre today to see The Hitcher (remake ......the older version was wild...so hopefully it will be half decent). It's only $1 for the movie at the cheap theatre.

Well.......off to the tub and then to check the paper for jobs ......which has been a depressing experience around here lately. There haven't been any jobs!

Jen - Yes, I know...Shaun T...surely has no self esteem problems. That's what I thought too...but he beams like a child. He sort of reminds me of myself in that way with his personality (not the ego part - although you might not think so after that comment I made about myself that one time...LOL)....the fact that he's beaming like a child and passionate about what he's doing. That's how I am when I'm talking about something I love.....like Buckcherry, or exercise....or whatever it may be. I truly am a kid at heart and he comes across like that......if that part wasn't there, he'd be an egomaniac for sure. The only reason I hate doing those workouts is cuz the music gets stuck in my head and I hate that Pussycat Dolls song!! He cracks me up when that song comes on. I have to laugh every time!! Did you feel it in your abs? It takes a lot of concentration, huh? What's going on at work that it's so stressful? I feel for you. I can relate with the wedding stuff. I never had that dream wedding either. I was just clean for a little bit and we had no money so we got married in the chapel of the Church with our immediate family there and then just went away to an amusement park for the weekend! No Honeymoon in Cancun or anything elaborate! I think as little Girls...we always dream of that big wedding. Are you gonna get the YBB Live series? It has more cardio in it than the Masters one. If you repeat the cardio segment twice, they make a nice 60" workout.

Yve - thanks for the info on Pilates. I always wondered if it was okay to use my med ball and ankle weights. I have a Stott Band workout but it's old. I'll have to check it out some time. I'll have to look at their site also (when I get a job though).

Lora-I don't know why but I don't connect as much with functional fitness either. I am sure someone will put something out there that I will be interested in one day. Do you like Keli's personality? For some reason, I don't connect with her workouts and I can't figure out why. I usually really like lower key, more matter of fact instructors....maybe I just didn't like the actual workouts themselves. I think I have been concentrating so much on getting the moves down, I haven't even noticed the music. Just that it does not annoy me and that I don't get lost in it either. The part he cracked me up on yesterday, was when I was previewing one of those learn to dance segments and the choreography was crazy. In my head I was thinking-that's insane and there is no way I could learn that right now and I went to turn it off. He comes up to the camera and says-something like What are you doing? No, don't turn this off, you can learn it or something like that. Freaks me out when they do that! LOL! I am considering most of the YBB workouts except the Masters Series...I will purchase those sometime down the line. I've still got P90X to consider, too.

As far as work goes, the HR side is stressing me out with some personnel issues that I can't discuss here. But it's really the Finance side of my job that gets to me, too. I am still trying to wrap up 2006 year end financials and it's MARCH 2007. Mostly, I have just been waiting on our accountant to finish their part of the job, and of course right as they finish, I can't pay attention to it because I have been given projects by the owner, have to get payroll done, have to deal with personnel issues and sometimes it is just really hard to balance it all. I still enjoy it, even on my 9th year of employment, but there are periods where it gives me fits and I wonder if I am the person for the job.

Have a great day and great WOs everyone! I am really feeling those push-ups from yesterday! It's a DOMS kinda' day but I will still WO tonight as usual!

Jen

Hi ladies? Oh well...Tonight's WO was Pyramid shoulders, MuscleMax shoulders, and Hip Hop Abs Fat Burning Cardio # 2. I really like Hip Hop Abs now! My abs are actually sore from the cardio. Doesn't seem like I have the hang of the tilt, tuck and tighten concept yet, but I must be doing something right or putting my mind to the muscle because it is working! :)

Lora-Whew! Level 2 sure does take it up a notch from Level 1! One thing I have noticed is that Hip Hop Abs seems easier to follow than Turbo Jam was for me. Was it that was for you? I think Shaun T. actually cues a little better than Chalene. I really liked the jumping jacks and scissors in this one and I normally don't like to do much of that stuff!

Hope you ladies have a great night!

Hi ladies,

Sunday's workout was 1 hr pilates. We spent alot of time doing feltengrais moves - to open up shoulders. It felt good.

I am really feeling my biceps and lower back today. Biceps I can attribute to Power Hour.... but lower back I am a bit worried that I might have done some of the exercises in Power Hour with bad form.

I think I will make an appt with the RMT.

Very tired today also... don't know quite what has gotten into me - maybe the effect of the time change.

Hope you all have a nice day.

Yve
