Morning Ladies -

This morning I should have taken a rest day....but I ordered Rockin' Body from Beachbody and they just came yesterday -- so I did Sean T's Rockin Body - Sean's Dance Party workout. I followed the low impact modifier cuz I didn't want any impact today since it's supposed to be a rest day. I was surprised at how high my HR got - 150's....so you can bet I'll be using this for low impact more often. It was fun too and had one of my favorite Madonna songs in it...Holiday! Time flew by and I burned 372 calories in 45". I'm sure this would even be more intense if I would have done the jumps, etc.

I liked this more than Hip Hop Abs so far. I was VERY hesitant on buying these cuz they were so expensive and I wasn't sure how intense they'd be or what they would be like....but so far, I'm happy with them. They came with 1 pound wrist weights to add for intensity. I didn't use them today since I was supposed to do an easier workout.

I also did Yoga Core Cross Train Restorative yoga segment with Rodney Yee 30" (a bit too restorative for my taste) and the Foam Roller Massage segment off of the Fitness Fix DVD --ouch....my outer thighs, glutes, inner thighs and entire shoulder, neck and mid back regions are severely tight with the upper body being severely spasmed. I really should get on the roller more often.

Kel - I don't have room for Kettlebells either. I workout in my Dining Room/Living Room area and my stuff is piled up in the corner of the room ...step, ball, foam roller, weights, etc. My Kettlebells are neatly lined up next to the base of the stereo and I have the one heaviest one in the corner of the room by the speaker. Good thing I never have company!!

Have a great day ladies............be back later if anyone is around today.

Hi Lora (& anyone else who might be around today) -

Since I didn't work out at all yesterday, I did KM warm up, leg drills, & stretch. Then, I did ME abs & stretch... & I finally did some yoga too. I tried out Ravi & Ana's Yoga Beauty Body & did a 30 yoga matrix that mostly excluded the strength-based portion of the program. As you described, this is not your typical yoga practice but I really liked it. After the relaxation portion, I felt strangely at peace, balanced, & blissful. So now I'm looking forward to doing more & also trying out the other on I have, Yoga Quick Fixes.

Lora - That sounds like a good workout & you really got your heart rate up with the low impact option too. You also got in some nice yoga this morning too. Now I'm really interested in the Kettlebells. So if I decided to go ahead & buy some, which weights would you recommend & how much do they cost?

Well, I better go for now. DH is working at one of our properties & I'm supposed to be working here. I'm on my second load of laundry & I've vacuumed upstairs so at least I've done something besides legs, abs, & yoga - LOL. Hope everyone has a great Saturday. Not sure if I'll be able to visit again today but I'll try to pop in if I have another chance.

Take care!

Hi ladies,

Hope you are all well.

I haven't been exercising at all in the last week... in fact, last week I posted that it was my last pilates class until after baby. That was last Thursday - I believe.

On Monday March 24 th, at 3:36am, my beautiful little baby boy was born. He was born 7lbs, 8oz... and 52 cm long. DH and I are completely and totally in love. Labour went well. Contractions began at about 9:30pm on Sunday night - and they came on hard and fast..meaning, that they were 2 to 3 minutes apart - right from the get go. We got to the hospital at 11:00pm - and were holding our little one by 3:36.

I do have to say that pilates and yoga - and the breath work really, really helped with pain, and relaxation. The two together - in my opinion, are at the top of the list in terms of exercise and its benefits.

Things are pretty hectic right now - I will try to pop in here and there - and I have lots of catching up to do with respect to your posts...but I wanted to share my news with you ladies.
Thank you for your support over these last months... it means so much that you listened to it all.

Talk to you soon.

Yve - WOW -- Congratulations. What a miracle and bundle of joy. Can't wait to hear all of your lovely baby stories. I'm so happy for you!

Kel - Please give me an idea of what sort of weight you lift with a variety of exercises so I can get an idea of what weight KB for you to start with. Most likely it will be somewhere between 15-22 lbs to start...but need a better idea of where you are with lifting. You will most likely need a couple of weights for different exercises.
