Trying to Fit Yoga In for Monday Sept 24

Morning Ladies -

I didn't know what to do this morning since I lifted yesterday doing my Jillian Backside workout. I did Preventions Slim Sleek and Strong which is a Pilates/band based workout. They used the yellow band and I used the green thining it would be enough, but I barely felt it. That was 50" long and then I did the HIIT segment off of Abs Diet 2 on the Rebounder but again, my HR only got into the 140's....so it wasn't a very intense workout. I consider it active rest. I'll have to try and figure out what I want to do for a rotation. Until then, I'll probably stick with some functional fitness this week. Workout was 1 hour 30" and I burned 402 calories.

I'm not sure if I'll keep the above Prevention workout or not. I guess I'll have to give it another chance with a stronger resitance band and see what I thnk.

Have great workouts or rest days. I've got to go apply for a job that was in the paper. It's an entry level secretarial job and I'm probably just wasting my time. I hardly ever get called for a regular secretarial job that only requires a High School Diploma and 1 year of experience. I don't know why, cuz I'll work for entry level pay!!! This is so frustrating. I'm sick of this emotional rollercoaster.

Good morning. Sorry I wasn't able to check in over the weekend. Just got busy & ran out of time each day. I also ended up working with my DH yesterday so no yoga for me. I really, really need it, though so hopefully soon. I've even had to bail on the yoga class for tomorrow night because I didn't get anything done around the house over the weekend so I hope we can reschedule for the Thursday class or make it next week. This morning, I started out with PUB warm-up, then did the SJB hi/lo add-on premix, followed by the PUB stability ball abs & then the rest of PUB. I ended up pulling something in the back of my arm (sort of like my tricep but closer to my armpit) while doing the lat pullovers so I ended up modifying the rest of that & also had to modify the tricep overhead extension too. Right now, it just feels really tight so I'm hoping to loosen it back up & stretch it out in order to keep up with my routine this week. Tomorrow will be cardio, PLB on Wednesday, cardio again on Thursday, & full body on Friday so I should be okay by then... at least I hope so anyway.

We went to see my FIL yesterday evening around 7:00. He's actually doing a little better & he's been moved to a larger room too but it had been a few days since I'd been to see him so I thought he still looked pretty bad. His hands were shaking, probably from being so weak, he looked pale, & his eyes looked really weak & watery too. But yesterday was the first day he was able to keep any food down & my DH thought he seemed to be doing better too so that's good. Thanks again to all of you for all the kind thoughts, prayers, & well-wishes. He still not well but at least he's starting to improve slowly.

(((Lora))) - Oh my goodness, I am SO sorry to hear about your job. I can't believe that! It seems so unfair, especially after everything you've been through. I'll be sending you all the positive job hunting vibes I can muster as you continue with your search. I'm sorry you're going to miss your Jillian workouts too but I hope you enjoy your FF week anyway. I think you have my DH & Christine's DH mixed up because mine didn't spend any time in the hospital (except to visit his dad) but her DH had quite a scare & did spend a night or 2 in the hospital. Thank goodness he's okay.

Jen - 153 workouts?!? Wow! You know what, though? I've never counted mine. Heck, I could have just as many - LOL! Great job with PH & increasing your weights. Glad to hear Lenny's donig so well & feeling good too. Hope you have a great Monday, get a good workout in, & are able to check in later.

Christine - So glad your DH is doing better. That's a relief. So are you training for a full or half marathon? 9 miles is a long run! Great job & good job keeping up with your yoga too.

Yve - Sounds like you had a really nice weekend... a wedding, a nice pilates class, & shopping with your mom. Sounds like fun! Thanks for the information about Niagara. Not sure when we'll go but I'll definitely look into some of the things you mentioned when we do.

I'm off to see what else is going on & then get to work. Still have lots to do here so I guess I've got a busy week in store for me again. Hope everyone has a great Monday & I'll BBL!

Today was Hatha class. I walked to the studio and back - which was a hour and 30 minute walk in total.

Lora - I am really sorry that things have been so difficult. Have you tried going thru a headhunter at all? They get paid about 10% of your annual salary as a commission by a potential employer if they help the employer find a suitable employee - so they have incentive to help find you a job. Is there such a thing in the medical industry in the US?
With respect to functional fitness - do you happen to have the Tracie Long set? I recently ordered it - but have yet to do them... just wondering what you thought.

Kel - I feel so bad for your FIL - it must be heartbreaking to see him so weak. I am glad that he is doing better - and keeping my fingers crossed that he will continue to improve.

Jen - Glad that Lenny made it out with you last night.. That is nice that he is feeling better.

Christine - Hope you are having a good day.

Hi again! Getting ready to leave a bit early today so I thought I'd pop back in for a minute. I have something to do right after work so I won't be back again until tomorrow.

So y'all remember me saying that I was going to ask my friend to change our yoga eve from Tuesday (tomorrow) to Thursday? Well, it didn't go so well. She said that since she was already signed up, she'd just go ahead & go tomorrow. So I asked if she would consider going both nights & she didn't want to. I ended up sending an unkind email back... well, it wasn't really that bad... I just basically told her I was disappointed that she wouldn't consider altering her schedule so we could still go together (hey, I've done it for her before) & she wrote back & said she was sorry I was disappointed but that she just wanted to take a yoga class so she was going to go ahead & go tomorrow night & maybe we could go next week. Okay, while going next week in addition is still fine, the part that really got me was "I just want to go to a yoga class". Huh?!? I'm sorry but I thought it was about more than that. Friendship perhaps? So I did end up sending back a truly un-nice reply that basically said just that. That's not like me. So even though what I said is correct, I still feel a little bad about saying it. Am I awful? Oh well...

Yve - How nice that the yoga studio is within walking distance! Thanks again for your kind words & thoughts about my FIL. It is tough to see him like this but I am glad he seems to be improving.
