Trying to Fit Yoga In for Monday July 9

Morning Ladies -

This morning I did my frontside Jillian Circuit from the book. Adding weights to abs and used my real jumprope for the jumprope segments. Used my crappy little bench for leg extensions and piled every weight I have and it wasn't heavy enough. I think I had about 60 pounds on. I need more weights (as well as 30# db's...but no job...no weights). I added on the Kicker segment from Kung Fu Kickbox. Workout was 1 hour 17" and I burned 476 calories. I then did Perfect In Ten Yoga - Awaken segment, Back care segment and Destress segment (I like this DVD).

Need Opinions. My body is feeling pretty worked. I've been doing these circuits for almost 4 weeks (in my 4th week now). I'm thinking of doing a Functional Fitness week next week, and then 2 more weeks of circuits ...then vacation.....but part of me wants to push thru until vacation. What do you ladies think?

I've been having really bad flares of pain since ending my prednisone. My facet joint problems have gotten horrific over the last 3 days. I haven't slept good for 4 nights. This sucks.

Have great workouts or rest days.
 
Mornin' ladies! Last night's WO (done at the very, very last minute) was PUB using the pyramid up premix only. That gives a great workout just working half the reps! Not sure what I will be doing today...probably walking or jogging for an hour. BBL at my usual evening time to chat more!

Lora-Sorry to hear that you have had so much pain you can't sleep. That is an awful feeling! Hope you feel better soon! :)

Kel-How was your (busy) weekend?

Hey ladies... peeking in & posting from home this evening. I had a meeting this afternoon & tried to post from work but one of the attendees arrived early & kept me busy. Then, the meeting took most of the afternoon so I wasn't able to post.

This morning, I was going to do PUB but my left bicep hurts/burns right where it meets the tendon (near the inside of my elbow joint, if that makes any sense) when I stretch it, so I ended up doing PLB instead & I'm hoping I can do PUB on Wednesday. I bought an MP3 player last week & purchased my CCs over the weekend so I plan to do one tomorrow morning. I also had to stop & pick up some sports headphones that fit around my ears since the buds that came with the player wouldn't stay in. I purchased VOL 2, 3, & 4 so since tomorrow should be one of my longer cardio days, I plan to do CC4 at around 53 minutes. In order to prepare myself & know what to expect, I started CC2 when I got home & probably would have kept right on going if the phone hadn't rang! Now I understand what all the hoopla is about! So let me ask you ladies, if I can't do PUB on Wednesday, what should I do instead? Another lower body workout? Any idea what might be wrong with my arm by the description I gave? I don't have any idea what I did to it but I did a lot of different things over the weekend so it could be anything really.

Jen - My weekend was filled with work, as usual. This Saturday, I'm helping with a company golf tournament so I'll probably end up helping my DH on Sunday. Hopefully, we'll find some down time for R&R soon. How was your weekend? By the way, I'm jealous that you did PUB...:+

Lora - Gosh, I don't know what kind of advice to give you other than to listen to your body. Do you seem to be responding well to this rotation? If so, do you feel like you can & want to keep it up? Based on what you said, I'd be inclined to say that you should change it up & give your body some time to recover. I'm sorry you're having so much pain & trouble sleeping too & I hope you feel better soon & sleep better tonight.

Well, I better get back to the laundry. Just wanted to take a minute to pop in since I didn't get a chance today. I was going to do some yoga tonight but I'm afraid to strain my arm so I decided to check out that Cardio Coach instead. Hope you ladies have a nice evening & hope to "see" you more tomorrow.
 
OK, back again! Tonight's WO was jogging/walking for an hour. This time, I was able to jog for 2 songs and walk for 1. Lordy, that was tough. I will remain at this pace for at least two weeks. The jogging really burns my calves and shins. It seems to ease up, but it takes awhile of being out there for it to happen. I also felt like I needed to go tinkle right in the middle of my run..which made the 2nd half of the workout quite uncomfortable! :eek: That's definitely a down side of working out away from home!!! :eek:

Lora-I wish I had some good advice for you re: circuit rotation. I agree with Kel-let your body be your guide. If you are feeling pretty worn out from the circuits, I would switch it up now. But, if you feel like you can keep going-keep it up! I hope you can get some sleep tonight. If the functional fitness workouts will be kinder to your body, you may want to go with that, especially if you continue to not sleep as well.

Kel-Wow! Congrats on your MP3 purchase! You won't regret it. I am having a blast with my ipod. I love creating music mixes for my workouts. That is funny about the ear buds. Mine keeping popping out, too! Sounds like you got a nice set of headphones. So, will you be using your player strictly for workouts or will you have some music on it, too? How much memory does yours have? Mine has 4 gig and it is already full. I keep hinting to DH about it! :D :D Did you watch any of the Live Earth concert this weekend?

Kel-Hope your arm gets better! Geez, I don't know what that could be. I hope you didn't strain it. x( What treatments are you applying to it? Ice? Heat? Are you getting any relief?
