Trying to Fit Yoga In for Monday April 14

Cathlete
Morning Ladies -

I ended up doing Strength Attack with Trish Muse. Workout was 60" and I only burned 321 calories. I used my Bender Ball for all of the ab work and with a weighted med ball....I felt it. This was a workout that alternates high rep/low weights and heavy weight/low reps.

This workout was pretty good....but the weight work should have been longer. The weight work was only about 25 minutes with 15-20 of Core and a 20" stretch! Next time I do this, I'll do the weight section twice and use a shorter stretch. It felt good....but I just don't have the time for that. The other thing is that biceps were totally omitted....so I added 3 sets of curls with 17 lb DBs.

Have a great workout everyone............ugh Monday.......back to work! Yuk!

Yve - I like Tracey's High Intensity Step Mix 2. It's much easier to follow than her first one and it's pretty fun. I would call it moderately intense. I think the Foam Roller segment in Tracey's new workout is a massage segment.....but I may be wrong. Not sure if she's including the foam roller in her Core workout or not....but Tracey is the QUEEN of corework. She sure knows how to get in there. Her weight workouts are also much different than Cathe's. She's more of a functional fitness type of lifter. They compliment Cathe's nicely.

Jen - My heart goes out to you about Lenny. I don't know what to say, except that I wish it wasn't happening. I love my pets more than life itself and die inside when something happens to one of them....so I can relate. They are my babies. Speaking of pets...Brooklyn was so funny last night. She cuddled with me and sucked the blanket while i was watching General Hospital and then came up to bed with me. She NEVER goes up to bed with me. She was walking all around my head getting petted and wouldn't let me fall asleep. She kept putting her nose in my ear and purring. Then she started going crazy and digging at the blanket like a maniac. Needless to say....I didn't get to sleep for a while, as I slept too long over the weekend and her little charade didn't help matters.

Have a great day ladies.........if that's freakin' possible on a Blue Monday.

Good morning -

I decided to get back to BBC this week so this morning, I did BBC Shoulders & Back, followed by the non-treadmill cardio. I increased my weights significantly from the last time I did this so I'm already feeling it a lot. My hands are also sore from holding the heavier weights so I hope I'm not too sore to do BBC Chest tomorrow...

Lora - That sounds like I pretty good workout & it sounds like you enjoyed it too. But I hate when they leave a body part or muscle group out of a total body workout. I always add on when they do that too. I'm with you about the weekend going by so fast & it already being Monday again. Hope you have a good day & week anyway, though.

Yve - I'm so glad to see you post & glad to hear things are going well & you had such an easy delivery too. I'm also glad to hear that your little guy is already bringing you so much joy. I can't imagine how busy you are but I hope you can continue to find time to post here & there. Thanks for the compliment about my new avatar too. It was a big deal for me to get so much of my hair cut off but I'm really glad I did it now.

Jen - I am SO sorry to hear about Lenny.:( I can't believe this is happening again either... he seemed to be doing so well. Like Lora said, my heart goes out to you because I know how important our furry babies are to us. I don't know what else to say except that I will be thinking about you & I'm hoping that you will get good news with the test results. Glad your procedure went well yesterday & I hope you get good news in about 10 days too. It sounds like we're both back on BBC again so good luck to us! Oh yeah... what did you think about doing MM to prep for STS? Don't know if you replied or not. I may have missed a post...

My DH & I worked on cleaning out the garage over the weekend so I'm hoping we can get started on my new workout room soon. I think I've said this before but I would love for it to be finished in time for STS. Speaking of STS, are any of you ladies thinking about getting any of the new equipment or do you already have most everything you will need for the new series?

Better go for now. Lots of work to do. Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi ladies! Tonight's WO was BBC Legs. I don't know how you all have the energy to do any cardio after those BBCs! You ladies rock for that! ;) I hope I have that kind of energy someday! My legs were shaking from the get-go on this one.

Thanks again for all the Lenny thoughts. I am dropping him off very early in the morning, so I will know something by tomorrow night. He ate his dinner again tonight and a little snack or two.

Lora-Interesting WO this a.m.! I don't think I own anything that is unique in the way that Trish Muse DVD is, i.e. working high rep/low weight and heavy wt/low rep in the same workout. What is her personality like? I just remember when Ab Attack was released several years ago to really good reviews and wondering what happened to her since she kinda' disappeared after that. I guess most of the lesser known instructors are probably Personal Trainers on the side that keep very busy with many clients. How cute about Brooklyn...even though I don't own cats, I do love them for their snuggle factor.

Kel-Good job with the weights increase on BBC. It's especially tough to increase on shoulders! You didn't miss any posts re: Muscle Max as STS prep. I think I got sidetracked anf forgot to answer that. I have decided that I really want STS to be a big shock so I am not going to do any strength rotations until it comes out. I am going to go through a series of endurance rotations with maybe a circuit rotation in there for good measure and MAYBE even a cardio only (VERY SHORT) rotation. I will probably lose some muscle mass but I actually need too at this point. I also have been feeling less well-rounded lately and would like to become more cardiovascularly fit. I had to start with weights because it was easier to me and kept me motivated, but I don't feel very fit overall because my cardio is, well....very weak. I have enjoyed the walk/jogging I have been doing and it got me to thinking about improving in that area. I don't plan to become a runner and run for miles and miles each day....but I do feel a sense of accomplishment when I can get out there and jog equal to or more than I walk. Re: Equipment for STS. I will have to get a new barbell to use my squat rack that DH bought me back in January, since my barbell is too short. Other than that, I am going to try not to buy anything else because of all the other expenses we have had lately....but I am sure there will be something that I will "need".....and my anniversary is in a few months so I will know what to ask for! LOL!
OK, this book has to end now...I have GOT to get in the bed!

Hi to Yve if you check in later!

Have a great night everyone!
