Cathlete
Morning Ladies -

This morning I did Cathe's 4 Day Split - Chest, Shoulders & Triceps pemix and Back and Biceps premix, and the core segment from Lower Intensity Step. I did it like this because I was only planning on doing Chest, Shoulders & Tri's premix and core, but I decided to do the entire upper body instead. Workout was 1 hour 34" and I burned 417 calories. I also did Dharma Yoga - Stress Relief segment. I wanted to try some cardio, bt today is cleaning day.....so didn't really have time.

The music on ths was techno sounding with some vocals. Nothing recognizable. I like the mural/backdrop she used for the studio. My only complaint so far is that I wish she had a total body premix that was around an hour long. I don't have 90 minutes to workout when I'm working. The music could have been better, but I always have high expectations in that area. It's just my opinion...so I'm sure others will love it. That just makes me certain that I'll buy the CIA's again this year....cuz that music from that last series was excellent.

Have to get started cleaning.....so I'll be back to do personals later...after I have time to read the posts. Must get started cleaning....as it's getting late.

Good morning everyone. I didn't get a chance to check back in after yoga last night so I'll let you know what I did now. I did the Yoga for Urban Living Daily Connection 60 minute practice with Hemalaya. I really like that one but it's not your typical yoga practice... which is probably one of the reasons I enjoy it so much. It doesn't start out with sun salutations & in fact, it doesn't contain any of the traditional kind of sun salutations at all. It also includes some postures or methods to arrive in those postures that I don't see in any of my other videos or DVDs. She also shows lots of variations for many of the postures so you can work at your own level & progress as your strength, flexibility, & skills improve. I think Lora owns this one too so maybe she can give her opinion but as for me, I like it!

This morning, I did The Firm Time Crunch Workout & felt like I got in a pretty good one, in spite of some tummy troubles that delayed me a bit & even made me late for work. Ick. Anyway, I'm sitting here with my new Cathe DVD(s) right beside me! I'm so excited to get home & preview them but I don't think I'll get a chance to do them before Monday, the 29th because my resistance bands haven't arrived yet & aren't scheduled for delivery until Monday (the 22nd). So I think I'll just do my upper/lower split rotation one more week & start the new workouts after I have everything. No biggie. This will give me more time to learn some of the more difficult moves anyway.

Okay you ENABLERS - LOL! Here's what I've got coming now. I've got the new Cathe's, I have 2 resistance bands & 2 loops on the way, I ordered Kelly Coffey's Step Box & NYC, I ordered Yoga for Stess with the Dalai Lama, & last night, I also ordered LIC, MM, Yoga Shakti, Yoga for Happiness, & Yoga Dance Fusion. Oh my goodness... my DH is gonna KILL me! LOL! Oh well. As the saying goes: "it's easier to ask for forgiveness that it is to ask for permission". LOL! I'm one of those kind of people who's very tight with money so it was difficult for me to take the plunge... but now that I did & it's all behind me, I'm really happy & excited to get all my new stuff too!

Lora - Wow, what a workout! Were you able to match Cathe's weights in this new series? I just got a set of 25# DBs but that's as high as my collection goes right now. Maybe I'll get some 30's for Christmas but I'll have to see if I'm ready by then. One thing is for sure... my purchases are over for now. I don't think I've ever heard of Dharma Yoga but just the title sounds nice to me.

Jen - I hope everything goes well with Lenny's treatment & your first "real" IVF consultation. Have you received your DVDs yet? Since you & I were both scheduled to receive them today, I thought you might have them by now too. How cool that the Atlanta group is going to get together for a DVD previewing party. How fun! I tried to describe the Hemalaya practice above but here are some answers to your other questions. I do like her style, personally. She seems to be very traditional & even chants "om" before & after the practice. There is also some kind of intense breathing practice at the end, right before shavasana but I don't remember what it's called. I think she has a very calming voice & she's also encouraging & reminds you to only go as deeply into a pose as you can handle. Some of the poses are held for a long time & she does go quite deep into some of them too. For that reason, I would personally say it's a little more difficult than most that I own flexibility-wise but defnitely not out of reach. I'd probably classify it as intermediate-ish. The music is cool & sort of new age & she also has a bell to indicate when a pose is over & it's time to move on. The bell also ends the practice at corpse pose. I think this style would be considered Hatha but maybe Lora can verify that since I'm not as educated about all the different styles. All I know is what I like, if that makes any sense. I'd definitely recommend renting it & seeing if you like it for sure. But she has a new one out called Yoga for Young Bodies & I don't think the reviews are as good for that one. But if you try that one, in addition to Urban Living, I'd love to hear your reviews.

Yve - Your dinner sounded wonderful... & just right too! Hope you enjoy your restorative yoga class tonight. That's definitely one of my favorite kinds of practices but I like lots of different kinds, depending on my mood & what I'm needing at the time. Did I answer all your questions about the Hemalaya practice above? If not, let me know & I'll try to get back to you. WOOHOO on getting your shipping notice! When do you think your DVDs will arrive?

Christine - Hi if you peek in! Hope you can find time to post today!

Oh my goodness... I sure wrote a lot! So I better get back to work for now. I have some drawings that I need to revise before lunch so that doesn't leave me much more than an hour. Hope everyone has a great day & I'll pop back in later to see what else is going on. Take care!
