Trying To Fit Yoga In for Friday Jan 4

Morning Ladies -

Yay ....it's Friday!! This morning I did P90X+ Total Body and Abs/Core. I had to work out in the dreary basement cuz I needed the chin up bar and I was happy to find a pair of pushup bars down there also. I had to use the chair to help with pullups and I did quite a few of the pushups on my toes....so lets hope my injury doesn't flare too badly. Workout was 1 hour 20" and I burned 548 calories.

I need tips on doing the hanging leg raises, as I'm not really feeling them that much. My ceiling is low in the basement...so you have to bend your legs so you don't hit the floor and it's awkward. Do you ladies think I'm doing something wrong or should I add ankle weights since I rarely feel ab work without weights?

I think there will be a slight learning curve with these for me since there are so many different moves. Once I do them a few times, I think I'll get a better workout.

Have great days everyone.

Carrie - I only had to lose 5-7 pounds prior to the Holidays. I seem to have packed on about 4 pounds from a chocolate binge I had from Thanksgiving to Christmas. I have to make sure I don't do this next year. I can't afford to gain weight, as the older you get, the harder it is to keep it off. My Mom even commented that I looked like I gained a few pounds........I was mortified!! I'm 5'7" and would like to weigh around 117, but I usually weigh arouned 124......but after the recent chocolate binge, I'm up to 129....so I actually have more than 10 pounds to lose!! The problem is that I'm always so hungry....and I can't diet very well.

Yve - it's very cold here also. It was 11 degrees on my way to work yesterday. Yes, this weather makes me very stiff also. As a matter of fact, yesterday, on my way to work, I was thinking I should pull out some of my older Kundalini VHS I have with Nivair Singh. He is a yoga instructor (Kundalini) that lives in Alaska and he tends to incorporate a lot of shoulder loosening work, etc into routines because he says that the cold Alaska air tends to make your shoulders very stiff and mine have been horrible.

Jen - how are you feeling? Any better?

Kel - what's up?

Well, I better go get ready for work.

Goodmorning ladies,

This afternoon I will go to pilates - and hopefully he will mix in the feltengrais to the workout. I am going to go downstairs and walk on the treadmill also.

Lora - Am so glad its Friday also! It sounds like you had an amazing workout this morning. I agree with the cold and shoulder stiffness - also mid back gets quite stiff with the cold. I so know what you mean about the holiday sweet binges. I am looking at my belly - and know that I have packed on 30 lbs already - and also reading that it is normal for me to gain another 11 lbs between now and the delivery date... and I am really getting nervous about it. I am counting on you ladies to help whip me back into shape when the babe is here. Part of it is that the docs have really gone out of their way to talk about risks at my age of pg...of miscarriage - etc etc... I am afraid to do too much. So combined with the fact that I work out of a home office now - and hence even less activity.. the weight has crept up. Yuck.

Hi to Carrie, Kel, Jen and Jill.

Have a nice day ladies.

Yve

Hi ladies! I was home from work again today. I can't seem to shake this cold. I haven't been this sick in a long time-not a great way to start the new year. Still no exercise either-I think it's been a month now. Yikes!

DH is starting to push to get this whole baby process going more quickly. He has a birthday coming up in April and I think it's already weighing on him. I should be the one that's worried....I've got a birthday coming in two weeks!

Lora-Nope, no better yet but thanks for asking! I am not on any antibiotics. I went to an Urgent Care clinic the other night after my sore throat returned and I had a rash all over my upper body. They just gave me allergy meds. I have considered going to another doctor, but I didn't have a fever and my lungs were clear (I had them listen twice to be sure, since I have had pneumonia before) so an antibiotic might be overkill at this point. That's fine with me, since I don't like to take meds anyway. I think rest is the best and probably only thing that will help me kick this eventually.

Yve-Don't worry about the baby weight, you'll lose it in no time. I am sure it is a good sign-just think about how fast that healthy baby must be growing! ;) How are you feeling these days?

Hi to Carrie, Jill and Kel! :)
