.....Trying to Fit in Yoga for Sunday, April 22nd....

Hi ladies! I am getting ready to do my Sunday grocery store run. DH and I are off to Whole Foods. Good grief it's expensive, but we eat so much better when the fruit looks and tastes good! We try to limit what we are buying to just the very basics that we cannot get at the regular store....but sometimes I lose my mind in that place and end up with sticker shock at the register!

Workout-wise, today is supposed to be Supersets UB premix and ME abs. I think I can handle it! It's been an interesting week in this rotation...usually the weight work is interspersed with cardio, but this week the weight work falls together in the middle, with the cardio at the beginning and end of the week. I am sure it's that kind of variation that gets results! :) I am getting desperate for some yoga...I really miss it and can tell I am needing some right now. If I could only convince myself to give up my rest day....even for just a 20 minute mini-yoga session....would probably do me a world of good.

Have a great day everyone! I will be back later!

Goodday ladies.

Today's workout was 1 hour pilates class.

Spent the day spring cleaning. Took down all my books and dusted - took down my closets and got rid of old clothes - We finished painting last week and so we have a lot of cleaning up to do. There is so much to do..but will be happy when it is done.

Jen - That was a really heartfelt post. It sounds like you and your DH have a wonderful relationship.
I like Whole Foods also - but know what you mean re the sticker shock - (That's such a funny expression). At the end of the day it sure is worth it knowing that it is so much healthier. What are you up to today?
If you give up your rest day for yoga - Treat yourself to a really relaxing session - and light up some candles or burn some incense and if you like - turn up the heat or a portable heater- and just indulge in your yoga time. That way it might still be considered part of your rest time.
The yoga instructor that I used to go to (she closed her studio) used to start the class by asking us to close our eyes- let go of emotions - let go thoughts - and she would then say - Just be here - in this room....It really allowed one to release and relax and really enjoy the yoga class.

Lora - I hope you are listening to the clinking and clanking of the video blackjack coins falling into your coin cup. :+

RE: .....Trying to Fit in Yoga for Sunday, April 22nd.....

Hi Yve! You have a very good point about the yoga...you can almost make it spa-like. I love incense and candles and have not used my "yoga room" for its intended purpose lately. That is sad that your yoga teacher closed her studio. Any idea why? There was a studio I loved just a few miles from my house and it closed, too. Many of them don't seem to make it. There was a Bikram Yoga studio just up the street from me and it closed about a month ago. What do you think it is? Do you think the popularity of yoga is not as strong as it once was? Both places seemed to have excellent locations and good visability. I was also thinking that maybe so many gyms offer yoga classes that maybe people are less likely to gravitate to a studio. Studios usually only offer yoga, whereas at a gym you get lots of other classes and equipment that you wouldn't get at a small studio. Just a guess.

I like to think DH and I have a great relationship. We still get on each other's nerves a lot because we spend practically every minute together that we are not working. But when we do get on each other's nerves we don't insult each other and yell-we don't thrive on that kind of drama....it's funny how that does seem to actually work for some couples, though. :)

Once we got back from the store, sticker-shock and all (or should I say awe) we pretty much were lazy bums until my workout time. I watched a little TV and checked on the laundry during commercials and read some magazines. We went to Waffle House for breakfast this morning AND I had Starbucks, so I had to follow through with my workout to offset the damage!!! }(
