TRYING TO CONCEIVE

Hello,

I'm a 39 year mother of 5 boys trying for number 6. I'm totally shok that I'm not pregnant, after trying for 6 months now. With my other children, when I say I'm ready for the next one, it happen withing a month. Does anyone have any recomendations for me? Thanks!

Check out a book called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility"...

It's very helpful in deciphering what's going on with your body!

I agree, TCOYF is the best book for women in general, especially those trying to conceive. Good luck.

Just want to chime in here with my endorsement of the book as well. It worked swimmingly for me--I conceived twice after 40 by following its recommendations. As you get older, your fertile period each month grows shorter. Whereas you might have had 3 fertile days when you were younger, you might now have only 1. This is why timing is so important. The book teaches you the secrets of nailing down your fertile moment so you can act on it. Good luck!

Hi there! I have three boys and am trying for baby #4 for now a really long time. Isn't it frustrating to have "fertility difficulties" after having so many fairly easy conceptions? Are you trying for a girl?

I have heard so many positive things about that book, but have yet to get it myself. I am currently on my first cycle of Clomid (I don't know if I'll repeat) and guaifenessin to thin cervical mucous.

Good luck, and feel free to join TTC check in

Hello! Yes it's extremely frustrating when all the other conceptions where so easy. It would be awsome to have a baby girl, but whatever the lord wants to give me. I have been trying for about 8 months, but we have had some dificult times in our family. About 5 months ago my suffer a masive heart attack and pass away, 2 moths later my husbands father passed away. That on top of running a daycare from home is very stresful. Now is clomid something thats prescribe by your doctor? I'm so bad, I havent done my check up in 3 yearsm, since my last was born. Are you trying for the girl? Good luck and keep me in touch.

Lourdes,

Yes, it'd be nice to have a little girl. We've been trying consistently for 8 months or so too. Your life seems like it's been stressful (mine too, but with busy stuff,...not sad stuff). I believe that our bodies have a way of pertecting itself, and it's not as fertile under super stressful conditions.

NOW is the time for your check up though. THREE years? That's a LONG time!!!! Clomid is a prescription, BTW.

Melanie,

Thats great! I will say keep my fingers cross for you. Boy are we ever busy. With four boys playing soccer, violin lessons, and religios education classes, we are just all over the place. Yesterday was a wild day for us. Our boys where jumping on my bed one little monkey fell off and ended up with 25 stitches on his knee. His ok! Thank God! I will be making my appointment tomorrow. Please keep me posted. Have a wonderful New Years!

My eldes little monkey got over 300 stitches in his face when he was about 18 months old from jumping on the bed (broke an aquarium open with his cheek). Now, no monkeys EVER jump on our beds!

We have had a busy week though. Our middle child "snorted" a bb this AM. Luckily, DH fished it out. You are right, boys are busy!!!!!!! Do you ever joke around with how things might be if you had, five calm girls around playing with dolls and braiding each others hair? Ha Ha. I know that's not how things REALLY are, but it's funny to just think. Ha Ha

So, I"m holding you accountable. DID you actually make your appointment? ;)
