TRX - any experience/opinions on this?

As a recovering injured runner (torn disc) I'm looking at my fitness routine and, after 2 months in physical therapy and months of HC, have a new appreciation for body weight exercises and balance. Been looking at TRX to switch things up, bring strength and stability. Just curious if any Cathletes out there have tried it at home, in the gym, or know anyone who has. It looks hard, fun and different!

I have a TRX permanently suspended from my ceiling in my gym, so I use it often. I think if you have to set it up, it may be a hassle and I don't think its as fun to use if its hung from a door.

I also have nearly all of the TRX DVDS and personally I feel they are too expensive, and they lack appeal as an actual workout. They seem more like tutorials then an actual workout, plus some of them have awful sound (i. e. wind distortion from outdoor settings). Even the last ones they made with Pavel are sort of lackluster. I find better workouts on YouTube with the TRX.

The TRX comes with a basic DVD that will show you most of the moves you can do anyway. Or, like I said above, YouTube has a ton of *favorite moves* to use with your TRX that you can google.

That being said, I love my TRX, its different and a great change-up from lifting or swinging my kettlebells. Mainly, I use the TRX as a finisher or enhancer to a specific workout such as further stretching or core work. TRX and core work is amazing!

Google TRX and the specific areas of your body you want to improve on before you buy it and you can watch a ton of YouTubes on it.

What about Rip 60? Personally I would prefer this one because it comes with a DVD series - but not really sure about people's experience and the pros and cons. But I thought I'd mention it as another option you may consider.
