True, Kind and Needful...

After reading the post on "Free Speech," and the many replies, it made me think of my childhood. I and my younger sister would get in verbal arguements and call each other nasty little names like children will do if allowed, and whenever my father would hear one of us say something nasty or just unkind, he would sit us down and remind us of "his golden rule"....

Before opening your mouth to say anything to a person, you should make sure it meets these 3 criteria....
1- it should be true
2- it should be kind
3- it should be needful
If what you are about to say cannot meet each of those criteria, then just don't say it!
It might sound korny, but it works! You can't say anything hurtful or rude or just plain nasty if you apply this rule!

Just a thought, and my .02 :)

This advice helped me today Donna. A lady at work really pissed me off today - I mean bad! Later, she showed me a piece of art work she did over the weekend and I wanted to bash it just because I was upset with her. So instead I said, "That's really nice," and walked away. Why start a week long battle, when I can just end it right now? Your advice was great. I heard another gem this weekend. I am a CONSANT worrier. I read a quote from an elderly worrier that said, "I have had a lot of trouble in my life and most of it never happened." How true is that!
