True Blood Time Bomb

That almost looks interesting. Tell me, does it get better further into the first season? I watched the first 2 episodes and hated it. It was like Red Shoe Diaries meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer and not in a good way. I wanted to like it soooo bad, but I thought it was painful to sit through. Does it's get better after that? Maybe find it's groove or something? Should I give it another chance?

Hey Liann. Nah, . . you probably have to have the appreciation for the uncensored vampire fantasy stuff. It just may not be your cup of tea and deffinitely if you didn't like the first few episodes you will probably not like the second series, . . it gets even more over the top. I just find the character developement so facinating. I personally find True Blood more interesting than the whole Twilight stuff but that is just me. :)
 
Yeah, it's probably a lost cause for me then which sucks because I'm totally into the whole vampire mythology etc.. - LOVE Interview with a Vampire and the like. I just felt like the first 2 episodes were just one overly graphic sex scene after another with a little dialogue in between. I didn't really find Sookie's brother all that attractive (I know I'm weird) so watching him do everyone in town in the first 30 minutes just didn't do it for me. ;) I really did like the other characters though (especially Lafayette!), but found the sex scenes too distracting. Ok, I'll shut up now and stop raining on the Season 2 parade!!! ;)

Liann, I think you may want to give it another chance. I think the graphic sex scenes really slow down and are also less weird/violent. I remember being pretty disturbed by them too in the first few episodes (especially those violent scenes with the woman who was murdered and the vampire). Now I don't really notice it so much and the story lines are stronger too. I say give it another try.

I have to agree that the sex scenes are a bit over the top. Although I did not get into the Six Feet Under series I heard that the Director had similar scenes. I think that it is a director artistic thing but I think that the series would have been just as effective with it a bit toned down. Althought the whole sex vampire thing does go hand in hand. I do see a lot of films and series now a days that go for that "shock" factor. You're not raining on anyone's parade we don't all like the same things after all. :) But I have to admit my favorite character is Eric, . . I so have a major crush on Eric and I love Pam's relationship with him. I also just love Lafayette. He cracks me up.

mine too!! eric is way hotter than jason IMO and lafayette is awesome.

the series is a bit over the top and the dialogue gets pretty bad at some points but i think that's the idea. the books were like that too: very campy but thats why i loved them. i would choose true blood over twilight any day.

did anyone watch the extended version of the previews and notice who sookie was in bed with?! i wont say anything in case you missed it but if it's who i think it is then HOT DAMN!!!
 
Well I try to stay away from previews b/c I like to be spoiler free, but who is this Godrick?????? Oh my! Eric & Bill have some serious competition there! ;)

I hear this morning Anna Paquin & whatever his name is got engaged. I have to wonder what would happen to this show if they broke up. Why is the "don't poo where you eat" rule not followed in Hollywood? :D

I saw that too, . . I noticed the hair. Did you notice the heated scene with Bill, his maker, and Sookie? I just can't wait. I love how the show is a little different from the books. The Jessica and Hoyt relationship is so cute. I can't help but smile when I watch those scenes.
 
I absolutely love this show. And don't get me started on Eric...he is SO FINE!!! I love the character development in the show, and the introduction of the new characters this season is great. i sit in anticipation each week for the new episode to come on. not to mention that i repeatedly watch the previous show throughout the week....to make sure i didn't miss anything (and to drool over Eric...i love the short haircut on him too -- YUMMY!).

Just a few more hours until tonight's episode comes on! whooohoooo!!!
