Hi,

I'd really like to purchase the Troy barbell set that Cathe uses. Does anyone know where to purchase it in Canada? I found an American website that sells if for 49.95 (US) but I was given a price of $420 (CND) to order it through a store here. Wow, that's expensive!

Hi Kate.....
Which store told you that?
I have been trying to get my hands on one too but cannot find anyone who sells it up here....The shipping from Fitness 1st in the US...was way too much!!!
I think $420.00 is far too expensive!!!
I live just north of Toronto in Vaughan, hopefully someone up here will get smart and bring it in.....I know the owner of Fitness Source so I will bug him to get it!!!

It was Fitness Depot. I sent an email to their head office to see if I get a better response. The local store of Fitness Depot gave me that ridiculous price and added that they were not interested in ordering if for me. Fitness1st game me a shipping price of 70 US for immediate shipping and $40 US 4-6 week shipping. I think Fitness Source was the store I contacted yesterday. They suggested I contact Dotmar. I've got an email out to them and I'm anxiously awaiting a reply...

Hi:) I just wanted to say that I bought the Troy lite bar and 2 collars from www.fitness1st.com They were expensive at about $70.00CDN including shipping and brokerage fees, but I got excellent service and am very happy I have the bar. For some reason it seems impossible to get good equipment in Canada for a reasonable price. The way I look at it, it's still cheaper that a gym membership. And the bar is well made and should last a long time. I bought standard plates which can be bought almost anywhere (like Walmart). I am very happy with this system.

It's so annoying! I live in Ottawa and it's impossible to get anything unless it's online. Then, with the Canadian dollar being what it is, it's way too expensive for me to afford.

The barbell alone with the cuffs seems reasonable. Why bother buying plates if you already have them? You can get them cheap at Fitness Depot.

I've been doing the Pyramids and it would be really nice to have those type of cuffs!

Jenn...

I live in York Region too! In King City - we're neighbours! I too was wondering about the barbell set. they don't sell it at the fitness stores in Newmarket, either!

Hi Lynne....
I am going to try and get the scopp on the Troy Lite system from the owner of Fitness Source....there must be a reason why he cannot get it...I will let you know what i find out.....
I bought a 5' olympic bar from him and love it....but the bar itself with no weights is 40 or 45 lbs.....so it limits your weight range....
I also bought a few body bars 12 and 15 lbs...but I would still love to have the Troy Lite system!!!
We are very close I am actually just south of Dufferin and King Road....:)
Jenn
PS I just called and he is gone for the weekend but I will be sure to call him on Monday!!!

Wow Jenn....I'm on Keele, north of King road. we really are neighbours! let me know about the Troy lite system - it looks so much easier for the pyramids than what i'm using now. which fitness source?

Hey Lynn....
I spoke with the owner of Fitness Source today...and he said that he something comparable to the Troy Lite bar.....
It said its a Ultra Lite Bar from a company called Hampton!!!
If you are interested in one....he said to call one of his employees...
Alfonzo @ 905-660-9114
He works out of the store on Langstaff in Concord...
Alfonzo is out golfing today, but I am going to call him tomorrow to order one for myself!!!
Hope this helps.....
