Tried my first Amy Bento

I've been using Cathe exclusively for one year......and I feel the need to branch out just the tiniest bit. I love kickboxing, but how many times can you do KPC, KickMax and the new one on 4day split? I really wanted another kickboxing workout. I hate Tae Bo because of the constant counting, and I liked TurboJam but felt it was too easy. So after reading a lot of reviews on Collage, I bought Amy Bento's Kickboxing Xtreme. I was surprised how much I like it. Her form and her cast are not nearly as good as Cathe's, but it is a whole lot of fun.....and I was sort of missing the "fun factor" in Cathe's kickboxing workouts. I am also a Hi/Lo fan, so I purchased her xtreme version as well. What I really liked is that I got both DVDs for about $30.00. Does anyone else like Amy?

Hi.

I have Amy's Slo Mo Challenge. It was the first of 2 Amy purchases I have made. I love it. She uses alot of innovative exercises that keep it fresh.

I recently got kickbox xtreme. I did from w/u through combo 2 so far and I have to say that I really like it. The choreo is a bit trickier then Cathe's KB and very different but I too needed a change. Love Cathe ofcourse but I have been feeling the need for more variety as of late. It will take me a few trys to get KBX down but I give it 2 thumbs up as well. :)

I just ordered Advanced Step Challenge 2 as my first Amy Bento. The routines are very complex but it'll be something new till I order the slanted steps with video and until STS comes out.

I'm in the middle of a whole rotation based on Amy. I have to say that I'm really enjoying it. I love her different moves and her cardio. I still love Cathe, but after 3 years of mainly Cathe, I'm enjoying another instructor who really works me.

I think Amy's Kickbox Xtreme was my 1st of her workouts. The choreography takes a bit of time but I do like her workouts. The weight workouts are quite refreshing too as she does very different exercises and I have always found that good for the muscle...:)

Paula,
I just received my first Amy workout, Hi/Lo Extreme, a few days ago. I have only tried it once - it was alot of fun and different. I wanted an advanced floor aerobic video and this fits the bill. Also, there are some premixes on this dvd which incorporate footage from one of her weight workouts, which is great. To me, this was definitely worth my money. Buy away!
Paula (too!)

KBX was also my first Amy workout and I love it. I now have almost all her stuff. I think though her form is not the best, I just look at KBX as hi-lo with kickbox moves and I never even try that side jump kick--yowza--how do they do that one?

I only have 3 of her workouts so far--the bootcamp one (so-so for me), and ASC2 and Hi/lo Dome Challenge, both of which I really like. I also preordered her two new ones.

I think Amy has a lot of potential and I look forward to her putting out more workouts, because the longer I work out, the more variety I want, especially with cardio.

Maggie:)

Another Amy fan here. I've got Kickbox which is great fun though it's taking a while to get the moves down - but it keeps it interesting. And also SloMo which I think is great - love the variety of exercises and the premixes are excellent.

I still love Cathe's stuff but it's good to branch out.

I've loved Amy since the beginning. She is one of my favorite instructors...along with Cathe. I think Amy's cardio may even be slightly more intense than Cathe's sometimes. She's got amazing energy and loves to work you hard. I'm glad she's doing so well and continues to put great workouts out. All of that being said, I can't follow her step to save my soul.....but somehow...I still get a great workout and end up doing my own version.

I agree that her weight workouts are cutting edge and innovative and I've also found her to be an extremely pleasant and knowledgeable individual.

When I conversed with her via email, she told me she is a Nutritionist, works a "day" job, teaches classes at night and does the filming projects on top of that. That was about a year and a half ago....and things might have changed since then....but she was quite "the" woman at the time IMO...and she has a super nice personality also. Go Amy!

ETA: To the originator of this post.......you are extremely pretty! Nice Avatar.

Thanks for the compliment.....made me smile this morning!!!!Wow, I can't believe Amy did all those things just a little while ago. Based on your post and others I think I will order her weight workouts as well. Her workouts are definitely affordable!!!!!I think I'm ready to incorporate some other people in my rotation......keeps things from getting boring.

Here's an idea for those who have Netflix. They have some exercise workouts (not Cathe though...darn it). They don't have all the workouts by all the instructors, but it might be a decent way to see if you like a particular instructor before purchasing one. I got a Kelly Coffey-Meyer workout from them to try. I also have one of Amy's coming.

I just ordered my first Amy Bento dvd (Cardio Pump Step) from deepdiscount Sunday evening. All of your reviews are getting me excited to try her out. I'm going to wait until early March to order her KBX, APX and HLX from deepdiscount since they are selling them for $11.07 w/ free shipping :)

YES! Just found Amy around Thanksgiving, after searching for some new cardio. LOVE her kickboxing Xtreme. It is my favorite right now. I also have her ASC2 step DVD. The choreography is complex, and I've only learned the first 2.5 sections. It is so much fun and gets me super sweaty. I preordered a couple of her DVDs
I've been with Cathe since 1999. Ouch! Has it been NINE years already!!!!
Anyway, a pure cardio junkie here. I've also just discovered Tracey (don't like as well as Amy) and have a Kelly DVD coming from eBay auction. ;)
